We had a fantastic time at La Scierie, thanks in no small part to our amazing hosts Marie and Mathieu. They have single-handedly created a true paradise out of a sawmill that stood in ruins just a few years ago – don’t miss their photo albums documenting the whole construction process, a veritable miracle involving the whole family! We spend an entire week at La Scierie with our two kids (7 & 10) and used it as a base to relax and explore the Jura region. Countless walks to and around beautiful lakes, exploring caves and nearby forests – there are many activities that will make fans of the outdoors very happy. The hot summer afternoons we spend lazing at the lovely pool of La Scierie – a real treat! La Scierie also spoilt us with a number of culinary highlights – starting from the very generous breakfast to the multi-course dinners lovingly created by Marie, accompanied by lovely Jura wines. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated – comfortable and stylish at the same time. Common areas offer plenty of space for relaxation, be it in the comfy reading corners or over games for all ages on the lower floor. There is even a small spa downstairs with saunas and a whirlpool! I would wholeheartedly recommend this place – was definitely the highlight of our summer this year!

Stayed four nights in early June. We booked based on location and TA reviews, and it completely fulfilled our hopes. The building is lovely, using local timbers and excellent design taste. Hosts couldn't be nicer. Room extremely comfortable. Breakfasts very good: the only issue is you have to order it the night before from a set menu, although obviously a practical system for a small establishment. Table d'hote dinner (unfortunately, we only had one) was delicious. Pool and gardens very relaxing and well maintained. Well located for exploring the Jura area. Easy day trips to Lake/waterfall walking district, route des vins, beautiful villages etc.

Probably one of the best experiences for relaxation and quality time with your partner. Our host has been exceptional, trying to cater every need you have while being unpretentious, authentic and original. The whole design of this boutique hotel, the bedding, the surroundings, the spa are of excellent quality and aesthetics. The dinner menu and breakfast both exceptional. I would highly recommend it, and I will go back again

Es gibt Orte, da versagen Sterne, Punkte etc. einfach. Und die passenden Worte zu finden, ist auch nicht gerade einfach. Ein Traumort, magisch, mit höchster Gastfreundchaft und Herzlichkeit geführt und kulinarisch ebenso ein Erlebnis der besonderen Art. Was Marie, die Familie und ihr Team jeden Tag leisten, verdient un grand chapeau! Merci beaucoup für wieder mal zwei u vergessene und leider auch viel zu schnell vergangene Tage, die ein Wiederkommen baldmöglichst notwendig machen. Bonne chance Katrin et Sven

L’endroit est Magnifique (il faut feuilleter les livres photo concernant l’historique de la bâtisse) et disposant d’un espace Wellness. Marie et Mathieu sont très sympathiques, nous y avons dégusté une planche de spécialités locales très généreuse. La chambre était vraiment confortable. À découvrir et redécouvrir ! Nous y reviendrons.

Marie et Mathieu, les hôtes de cette maison d'hôtes, nous ont accueillis, dans cette très belle maison, avec beaucoup de gentillesse, de la bonne humeur et une disponibilité permanente. Les chambres sont très confortables (je recommande "la Furieuse"), avec des décors où le bois est très présent. Les dîners de la table d'hôte sont excellents, préparés par Marie et les personnes qui l'aident, les vins dont elle prend plaisir à nous faire découvrir, sont très bons. Les conseils de visite sont parfaits ! Il faut voir la saline de Salins-les-Bains-Bains (inscrite au Patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco), la saline d'Arc-et-Senans, la ville de Poligny et aussi la maison de Pasteur à Arbois. Nous avons une très grande envie d'y revenir.

Une très belle découverte à recommander ! Marie et Mathieu ont rénové cette ancienne scierie avec beaucoup de goût, en utilisant des matériaux nobles. La déco est parfaite, l'accueil très chaleureux et la table délicieuse ! Nous avons apprécié le calme et l'authenticité, la piscine et le spa et les délicieuses pâtisseries de Marie ! Un sans faute sur tous les plans !
