Since we come to Metz regularly, we have stayed at the Ibis Cathedrale several times. In 2020, during the pandemic, the hotel was closed. A notice on the door informed us that the hotel was undergoing renovation work. We therefore expected the rooms to be repainted in 2022. This was not the case, at least in our room on the second floor. Unfortunately, everything was pretty shabby. It was clean, but the room urgently needed renovation. Paint chipped on the window, faded bathroom, furniture partially damaged. It's a shame - the lobby has been spruced up, but unfortunately nothing has been done to the rooms. Location and price are still TOP, the rest is more of a FLOP. Parking is quite cheap at €2 - €4 (half/full day) in the pay area.
