First and foremost - I don't usually write reviews. My wife and I spent almost a month long wedding/honeymoon vacation in Europe, with nine days being in the French Riviera. Hotel Royal-Riviera stood out to us among the many excellent places we were fortunate enough to stay during our trip. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Placed at the start of St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat - the small local town of Beaulieu-Sur-Mer is only footsteps away. The town of St-Jean is a short walk down a fabulous winding seaside path. The hotel features a beautiful pool with an attached restaurant as well as a private beach reserved for hotel patrons. The beach had sand compared to the public rock beach. Towels, chairs, umbrellas -- everything was setup and provided for us immediately when we came pool side. We also ate at the on-site terrace restaurant and were served by Monrad and a wine sommelier whose name escapes me. We decided to do a curated course meal and were not disappointed. The dishes were well explained, unique and most importantly delicious. We ate lunch at the restaurant by the pool. The food here was also excellent. We sat at the bar and talked with Hugo. He recommended his favorite drink (which also happened to be mine) and we talked about his job. We had evening drinks at the inside hotel bar on multiple evenings (all of which were good). They have an old-fashioned wooden bar, but we often opted to take our drinks out on the terrace to enjoy beautiful weather. They had an excellent bar staff in Hugo and Roberto, both were attentive and chatty. Roberto is Italian and we talked with him about our upcoming trip to Italy (we were going to Positano next). One thing I noticed during our stay is how often the staff were working. It seems from the outside to be tirelessly. Their efforts were clearly displayed in how clean, organized and professionally they present themselves and the hotel they work for. I asked them what their work schedule was like. Essentially they work incredibly long, intense hours in the season and take their holiday during the off-season months when the hotel is closed. These people live and breath the work they do and it shows. The customer service we received was seriously top-notch. The staff recognized us and greeted us by name each day when we came into the lobby. Monrad (the waiter who served us dinner) regularly stopped to chat with us by the pool while he was working. The guys tending to the beach and pool were quick to take say good morning and take care anything we could need each day. I can't say enough great things about Monrad, Hugo and Roberto. All of them let me practiced my broken French with them. Quick safety run down from my perspective (28M). I genuinely felt safe in St-Jean and Beualieu-Sur-Mer. The towns were clean, well lit and seemingly well policed. I went on runs each morning and regularly went around in the evenings to checkout local shops and bars. I think the hotel
