Very clean! Which was one of our main wants but it is also up to date & has nice furniture, mattress, tv & ect. Instead of little sample shampoo, conditioner, & body wash they have nice pumps of dove installed in the showers. The house keepers our very kind and will be a helping hand with anything they can. The front desk employees are just the best! They will help you, try to meet needs if anyway is possible & always a pleasure to pass by. Our kids loved the indoor pool, & comfy bed with a big flat screen. I will only use the hotel in Baltimore!

This is the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in, period. The whole hotel smelled of skunk and marihuana. The Ice machine room smelled of urine as if it was used very often. The front desk attendants were watching television in the breakfast area instead of monitoring who was coming into the hotel. There was a man who appeared to be homeless walking through the hotel lobby, then up the elevators and back down to the lobby. He wore the same clothes on Friday night and Saturday morning. The morning attendant on 2/19 was sleeping in the office. I had to bang on the office door several times to wake him up. When I asked for more towels I was given pool towels which were small and worn out. When I asked for more pillows I was told they only had one left but the hotel wasn't sold out. There was mold on the ceiling in hallway, our room, the bathroom. The toilet kept getting stuffed up, we were afraid it would over flow every time. When I mentioned it to the front desk clerk he said OK, didn't even fain an interest in fixing the problem. I want my money refunded immediately. We felt unsafe, we were in deplorable conditions that smelled horrible. The entire hotel, I mean entire hotel needs a tear down and rebuild it is that bad. The beds were like twin beds not fit for two adults to sleep in.

We stayed in the Quality Inn & Suites in Edgewood for 9 nights. Because of CoVid, we experienced the following issues: • No Breakfast • No Pool • No Gym • Very infrequent housekeeping (2 times during our 9 night visit) Their website made no mention of these omitted services, nor were they mentioned on our reservation confirmation. When we arrived at the building, we saw a sign announcing that there would be no breakfast, pool or gym. When we checked in, we were not told about the limited room service. After two days with no room service, my wife called the front desk and were told that room service would occur twice a week. She explained that we needed fresh towels and additional soap, shampoo, and coffee. The man at the front desk said we would get those supplies at 8am the following morning. She explained that we had a very early morning and that would be too late. He said we could come to the front desk for supplies. We went downstairs with our dirty towels and ice bucket. As I went to fill the ice bucket, my wife went to the front desk with the towels. She said the man there continued to look down at his computer screen and ignored her until she said “Hello, aren’t you the man I just talked to on the phone?” Only then did he look up. He went to a back room and got us a couple bath towels. She had to ask for additional hand towels and wash cloths. She had to specifically ask about the other supplies. He went to a closet and found soap, then went to another area and found shampoo. Still no coffee. After asking again, we got two servings of coffee. No part of this interaction was hospitable. Edgewood is not the best area in Harford County, and we knew that ahead of time. What we didn’t expect was that the hotel had at least two exterior doors that did not lock. Each had a sign saying a room key was required to open the door, but the locks were broken. Anyone could have entered the halls of the hotel. One morning when we were leaving our room for the day, we went downstairs and there were three Harford County deputies standing in the hall outside of a guest room. That’s not something we ever expected to see in a hotel! The hotel had at least 3 ice makers. Two on the first floor were working, the one on the second floor was not. An “Out of Order” sign was on that machine. It remained that way throughout our stay. The temperatures were very high during our visit. The hallways were warm and some days smelled of mildew. On other days they smelled like air freshener. There was black mold on the exterior of the building near the back door closest to our room. The air conditioning in our room worked fine. Of the hotels in the area, it was the least expensive. The room seemed to be clean and the bed was comfortable. When we did get room service, it was good. The internet connection was fine throughout our stay. The same brothers who own this hotel also own the LaQuinta and the Hampton Inn adjacent to

My employer puts me up in this hotel several times a year. I've probably stayed here 15 times in the last two years. It's an aging hotel that is trying to keep going, but it's badly in need of renovation. One major complaint I have with hotels in general, and this one in particular, is their use of covid as an excuse to cutail housekeeping services. There's never any room cleaning during my visit. I have to ask at the desk for clean towels, more coffee, etc. This morning I saw a mouse under the desk, which scampered away behind the fridge when I scared it. Unbelievable! I've never seen a rodent in a hotel room before. I imagine with the lack of housekeeping there are plenty of crumbs to keep the mice in business. On a positive note, the front desk staff are usually very helpful at this hotel. The other day my car was covered in snow, and one of the employees let me borrow his snow brush to clean off my car.

While the rooms might have been a tad on the cozier side, they more than made up for it with their plush comfort and attention to detail. The Ulysses truly exemplifies the notion that beauty lies in the details, and the meticulousness with which they've curated every aspect of the guest experience speaks volumes. The 19th-century charm of the Mount Vernon neighborhood is beautifully echoed within the Ulysses. The delicate stained-glass skylight, the ornate crown molding, and the preserved brass postal box serve as a testament to the building's rich history. But it's not all vintage here. The interiors seamlessly transition from the ornate influences of the Art Nouveau era to a more streamlined approach, evident in the hickory wood furniture adorned with Ash’s custom textiles. And oh, those hand-beaded lampshades and embroidered quilts! They added the perfect splash of color and quirk. A special shout-out to the carved flamingos that support the bedside tables, a delightful nod to Baltimore's own John Waters and his ”Pink Flamingos.” It's this mix of opulence and eccentricity that makes the Ulysses stand out. Booking through Trip.com was a new experience for us. A bit unconventional, sure, but it came through in the clutch. The $35 ”destination fee” threw us for a loop initially, but the $20 credit we received towards our bill at the hotel restaurant (Ash Bar) or the bar (Blooms) made it all worth it. Speaking of Blooms, what an experience! The mirrored ceiling, the crimson banquettes, and the purple stools set the stage for a night to remember. In a nutshell? The Hotel Ulysses is a triumph, an ode to Baltimore's multifaceted spirit. Whether you're here for the history, the design, or the sheer experience, the Ulysses promises and delivers. Car rental is very suitable, there is Target in a few minutes, walking distance is 11-7. The restaurant is small and will feel a bit crowded. But the restaurant always has coffee and hot water supply. There are quite a few American families. There is an indoor small pool on the first floor and a well-equipped self-service laundry on the second floor. There is a seafood restaurant within walking distance and it is very popular. Going to Baltimore for half an hour and going to Washington for more than an hour, there will be differences in traffic peaks. Free parking, safe service in the room behind the front desk, a Treat Shop next to the front desk, microwave hot noodles, hot meals, spacious rooms and new equipment. It is a thoughtful hotel.

Chose the hotel for its proximity to JHU. First the good stuff: Staff was uniformly helpful and customer oriented, front desk personnel welcoming and personable. Warm cookies and bottled water a nice touch. Room was generally clean and housekeeping staff wanted to do job well. Responsive staff member came to repair a non-functioning thermostat (needed battery) and noted that we had blocked the TV box and couldn't change channels. Good people all-around. The restaurant was apparently open but one couldn't tell. It was in a corner of the lobby with a few hangers-on at the bar. No coffee or tea available anywhere in the hotel save the machine in one's room - no sugar, no cream - nada. Had to go to One World Cafe about a half block away to get coffee. Hotels that charge half the room rate typically have coffee/tea, etc. in the lobby. I define value as the relationship between the entirety of the experience vs. the price paid for same. Based on this definition the value was substandard. Absent the sweet and attentive personnel we encountered, my star (*) award would be downgraded. Doubletree is a marquis name and this location didn't rise to the standard expected recalling other stays at Doubletree properties. Unfortunately, not recommended.

My hats off to the General Manager. The rooms are very clean and nice. I love the items in the shower. The shower gel, shampoo and conditioner dispensers was a nice touch. I was impressed with breakfast. I thought it would be bagels and dry cereal. I will be staying again.
