Rose Garden Palace Roma by Omnia Hotels

Via Veneto Rome|2.07km from St. John's University
We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Rose Palace. The front desk gave us tired travelers a warm welcome that made us relax immediately. Our room overlooked the back of the American Embassy with guards stationed outside 24/7 so it was definitely safe. The hotel is a little off the beaten path from the usual touristy spots in Rome but in a very quiet area. The room was very clean. We had 3 in our room and the 3rd person had to sleep on a full size pull out couch. It was comfy for a pull out (you couldn’t feel the bar under the mattress) but unless you put up the bed every day the only place to sit were the beds. It had a small fridge and the bathroom was updated but limited on counter space around the sink. The buffet breakfast was geared toward a variety of tastes. Scrambled eggs, a variety of pastries, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, etc. When the weather was nice we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden. There is a tiny grocery store called Co-op around the corner where you can buy the basics. Also on the next block is an ATM in the alcove of the bank entrance that seemed secure to use. Reading older reviews we thought there was a restaurant in the hotel serving dinner but it turned out to just be a small bar. So we walked a couple of blocks north and ate at Cesarina and enjoyed a good meal and friendly staff. There were a lot of other restaurants to pick from in a 2-3 block radius. The ones on Via Vittorio Veneto appeared to be more expensive than the ones northeast of the hotel. There is a taxi stand a couple of blocks away and we used both Uber and inTaxi for rides back to the hotel.

Termini Central Station Rome|2.73km from St. John's University
Great location. Any major attraction can be reached within 20 minutes. Spacious room with a very comfortable mattress. Very helpful staff both at the reception and during room service. We initially had a corner room, but found it a little noisy for us. At the reception they changed it without any problems for another one. There are several good restaurants nearby. Reception's recommendations were also excellent. The hotel does not have its own parking lot, but in the same building on the base floor there is a garage (not the hotel), which can be accessed without entering the ZTL zone. Price 35 euros per day. But opposite the garage there is a paid city parking lot, where you can also leave your car. To get into the hotel from a garage or parking lot, you need to call from downstairs so that a receptionist will come and open the door to the elevator hall. We liked the breakfast. There was a bit of a lack of variety in egg dishes, but there was plenty of other stuff. I think the main disadvantage is the paid gym and spa. And if the spa is somehow explainable, then the gym is usually free for hotel guests. The price for visiting guests is 9 euros. Restaurant is fine. You get the voucher with 20% discount when check-in so the price becomes reasonable. Overall we enjoyed our time at the hotel and will return here again. It was a perfect stay for Rome. Located very centrally (only 15 walk to piazza navona and vatican) this little “hotel” is on the 2nd or 3rd floor of an apartment. It has 3 rooms only. We have been contacted by the gentleman who helped us check in, a day before our arrival; helped us through on how to find the building; met us there on time and kept our luggages until our room was ready. The room we stayed in was spacious, modern, newly furnished and elegant. Everything in the room worked perfectly we even had usb mobile chargers on both sides of the bed which is a big plus. They have a coffee machine in the room and complimentary coffee capsules every day; a fridge, a safe everything you can think of in a proper hotel room. The shower was in very good condition, there was an air conditioner, a smart tv etc. Check in and check out processes were smooth. The only downside is there’s no reception, even though there’s a reception desk and you get all the help you need when checking in, you still feel a little abandoned since it is a hotel and not an airbnb. There’s two good bakery right outside the building which was very convenient for breakfast. Overall and in detail we recommend Pietra very much and wont be staying in any other place for our next visit to Rome.
Hotel Casa Valdese Roma

As we stayed at the hotel in November, I cannot comment on the air-conditioning. We really liked the hotel a lot. The room was definitely large enough. The bathroom was large enough for us. The breakfast room and meal were nice, welcoming and fun with the different languages of Europe being spoken. Contrary to a previous review what was so nice in fact was that Casa Valdese is in a neighborhood called The Prati. It is not in a crowded tourist area but certainly close enough. Walking in Rome is a pleasure, there is so much to see and experience, it was in fact a pleasure to walk a little further to the tourist areas...and then a pleasure to leave them. The Prati has restaurants for the people who live in that area. The food is great, and again, much better than what you find in the heavy tourist areas, many of them are not good. The hotel staff was very friendly and spoke multiple languages. If you like the tourist vibe and the luxury hotels that you like in the US (I am American) this may not be the hotel for you. If you want a good hotel in a great area of Rome, I highly recommend it.

The hotel is not big, the facilities are a bit old, but the location is good, the hotel staff are friendly, this is the reason we stayed again.
