When we arrived at the Stafilia Beach Hotel in Rhodes the first feeling I felt was of non-welcome, of refusal to understand our language and our needs, that is to say you have now paid if you don't like it go back to Italy. An unwilling boy who accompanies us to the accommodations, which were not the ones reported for months, they must have been close but they were anything but. Naturally the boy precedes us without a hint of help with the luggage. The rooms don't seem bad, not very clean, let's say acceptable even if my traveling companion gets a shower with a plastic curtain, similar to low profile accommodations where you have to be grateful for having a shower. The biggest surprise comes at dinner where we go hungry having been traveling since the morning. The scenario is a series of indescribable dishes, ravaged by flies, which the other guests, 99% of whom are foreigners, mostly Germans, calmly take without the feeling of disgust that pervades us. Following our complaints, they serve us at the table directly from the kitchen, looking at us in a bad way. That same evening we contacted our agency requesting to give up food and a refund that would allow us to eat out. Nothing to do, either this or that. Despite ourselves, we alternated our dinners between those at Rafilia based on flies and poor food, and dinners out, naturally at our expense. The dishes are made largely of chicken and pork, including (pork) tongue floating in watery seasonings and full of onions. Furthermore, the plates and glasses are often broken and dirty, but safely placed among those that can be saved. And breakfast? In the majority of savory dishes, frankfurters, eggs of all kinds, cold cuts, the worst on the market, there is no trace of a rusk, of a biscuit, let alone of a tart. All accompanied by our friends flies, always with us. Only and exclusively a sweet dish made of apple desserts or plum cakes duly defrosted at the moment, very often cold. Sometimes not even this. As in all respectable hotels, even three-star ones like this one, I used the towels and immediately afterwards laid them on the floor, only to find them clean. But no, the maid saw fit to put them back in their place (naturally mixed between those used for the face and other things...😭😭). I immediately went to ask at the reception where the usual lady with an unpleasant/unfriendly grin showed me a notice, written in all languages except Italian, which indicates the change of towels every three days and bed linen every four 🤦🏻 ♀️ what can I say? The towels themselves are full of holes, stained here and there as are the sheets. In short, a holiday to forget, the beautiful sea throughout the island is saved, but the unacceptable gaps also make this in vain, even if it is the only element that made us
