I went there right after landing and could check in early. The room environment was good. I booked a sea view room, but it was still a bit cold in January, especially near the window.

The hotel has a great flair. Modern and traditional at the same time. Location is great close to the old city center and the harbor. People are very friendly and helpful. Only finding a parking spot and the way to the hotel was a bit confusing. Hotel entrance doesn’t carry a sign or letters with the hotel name.

I missed the welcome of warm cookies in the afternoon. There was nothing.
The front desk staff was fine- nothing to write home about.
It was nice they held our luggage after checkout for a few hours as we shopped before heading to the airport.
Tip to others- P3 parking lot is about 3 blocks away close to the water side- there was always parking there.
The location was good. In the middle of the action.
We also loved the buffet breakfast. Eggs, salmon, breads, pastries, so many things. Only comment is that the variety was the same for the 3 days there- no changes- so it did get boring after day two.
The beds comfy. room is nice. water pressure for showers good.
I would stay here again.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location in a bustling area, offering convenience for guests. The reception desk is exceptionally helpful, and the restaurant staff, particularly during breakfast, are outstanding. Wish the breakfast had more hot food variety and also better coffee options (only had filter coffee), neverthless still a great breakfast spread. The hotel comprises a modern half and an older section, but both segments provide all necessary amenities. Easy access to taxis and the nearby bus stop, which is ideal for convenient Iceland tour pick-ups. Overall, a comfortable stay with excellent service and accessibility.

The hotel is pretty good, and you can walk to the main street, but! If you drive yourself, it's not very convenient. You need to find parking near the hotel by yourself. It's in the P1 area, and you have to check every three hours. It's really troublesome and expensive. It costs more than 300 yuan a day. There is no car around the hotel, and you have to drag the suitcases here. Ugh.
Nice place, really clean and cosy!
C'est petit mais suffisant pour une personne. Les douches sont propres et les toilettes également..j'ai testé le hot tube et c'est vraiment pas mal !

The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. Before check-in, we couldn't find the check-in location because of the inaccurate positioning of our mobile phone, so we called the reception and the guy came out to find us in the cold wind. The apartment was very comfortable and warm. It was an excellent stay experience!

The hotel is very popular. I could only book a standard room for a king-size bed room before. But when I was about to check in, I saw a superior room and grabbed it immediately. The size of the superior king-size bed room was OK, but the superior twin room should not be 24 square meters and seemed very small. So my friend upgraded the double standard to a suite.

We had an extremely pleasant stay and will definitely consider this hotel again the next time.
Great location, friendly staff and the room had everything we needed.
The free coffee & tea in the lobby was a very nice touch too, especially in a city as expensive as Reykjavik!
I also appreciated that guests are giving the opportunity to opt out of room cleaning and are given a drink voucher for the hotel bar in return.

Outstanding
AAaxiuThe sister at the front desk is very beautiful and patient. The hotel is warm and refined. The location is not far from the central area. It can be connected to the flybus, which is very convenient. Unfortunately, the sound insulation is a bit poor. The wooden floor in the corridor reverberates loudly, and the sound of pulling the chairs in the next room is also a bit noisy.
GGuest UserI traveled to Iceland and chose this hotel for a total of three nights. This is the first night(8.6),Everything else in the hotel is very good. The only terrible thing is that for the room on my left, I can clearly hear their phone calls. For the room on my right, I can clearly hear them coughing and talking, which is very clear in the middle of the night. I doubt whether every room can hear the sound like this, so I will consider whether it is useful to propose to change the room.
TTeacher HarryLayout of room was kind of strange. The bed is on a weird platform that might be difficult to navigate for less agile people, or those who are sleepy or otherwise impaired. Bathroom was overly small.
It has a kitchenette, but no microwave. The location is in the heart of the most touristy part of Reykjavik.
This is the third hotel I’ve stayed in while traveling to Reykjavik. The others, both lower priced, were not afflicted with the smell of sulphur (rotten eggs) in the water. It is possible to filter this out, and a person paying the price this hotel is asking should be able to expect better quality water.
If you want to be in the thick of the tourist action and don’t mind smelly water, this place is OK. Otherwise…
AAnonymous UserIt is three kilometers away from the city. Every time I am picked up from the hotel for a day trip, I am the first to get on the bus and the first to get off the bus on the return trip. This shows that the hotel is far away from the city. The equipment in the hotel room is very simple. In addition to the simple microwave oven in the triple room, you have to borrow a hot water kettle from the front desk. Also, as other guests mentioned, Ctrip does not provide any check-in information before check-in (opening the door and room). The same password). Fortunately, when I checked in, before the restaurant staff got off work (0700-2200), the restaurant staff asked me to enter my full name in English pinyin to get my exclusive door opening password. Otherwise, you have to call the phone at the gate and ask the counter staff far away! There are three supermarkets (one open 24 hours), KFC, Subway and the Icelandic version of McDonald's Metro near the hotel, as well as Chinese restaurants, if you don't mind eating a set meal for 15-20 US dollars!
KkikophilosophieI‘ll recommend to choose a lower bunk when you are going to stay in a 6-beds-room, because there is no private curtains in upper bunks.
What’s more, you must spend about 6 euros to rent a towel if you don’t bring one.
It’s a little noisy in night especially for people who must go sleep and get up early to attend a travel tour. But you can always get ear plugs from the friendly stuff for free.
MMebius10XFor East Asians, a true ”hotel” with complete services and equipment is still very good. Parking is right at the door, which is more convenient. It is some distance from the city center attractions, so it is not convenient for self-driving tourists.
GGuest UserCheck-in was pretty smooth. I was allocated the room just above the main entrance as such, it can be quite noisy whenever people get in or out of the hostel with the door slamming and some vibration felt! The bathroom and wc are fairly clean and tidy. Very cosy common area to mingle and make new friends. Kitchen has all the basic necessity. I especially like the small area right outside my room where i can have a light meal and nice view of the surroundings. Bought the unlimited bus rides ticket via the Klappid app for travel within the Reykjavik capital city and bus svc 12 is just few steps away. If time permits, you can even walk to the coastal area for sight-seeing. Overall, i am very satisfied with my 8 nights stay at Laekur hostel!
SStefanI can absolutely sympathise with people who struggle to get in and check in to this hotel.
When you book through a 3rd party app, you do not receive your room number or entry code. The check-in process is then an adventure of trying to shout into a tablet near the front door, for a call that lasts maximum 2 minutes before it disconnects and you have to try again.
The layout is… odd… to say the least, but if you follow the signs you can eventually end up at your room (if you find some of the doors that work, not all do).
The maintenance person who broke into our room while we were out forgot to lock the door, so we were at risk of all of our things being stolen, which wasn’t ideal.
The room itself was nice, location is good and as long as you don’t need anything, you are getting what you pay for.
MMiffy woAlthough the room is small, it is very convenient to settle in. The password is used to enter and exit. The piggy supermarket is 150 meters away, and shopping is also very close. The breakfast is also good. It is not too far to go to the main street and the Pearl Tower.
GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is very close to the cathedral and the city center. It is also very close to the bus station. It is also very convenient to go to the major attractions. The breakfast is moderate and the service is very good. The towels need to be mentioned in advance, no extra charge. This store is worth recommending.
