This is a lovely spacious & clean hotel with excellent friendly efficient staff and the buffet was well run (not too many queues). Ignore any comments about them ignoring the English we did NOT find this at all. Beware the many, many birds waiting to steal any food you leave on the outside tables - so many people found their food had disappeared when they came back to their tables. My main complaint is the awful lack of soundproofing between rooms - I jumped out of my skin if someone dropped something, I was kept awake even by others' snoring! I was woken up at all hours by people talking and having drinks - all my nights' sleep were broken. This is the only reason I wouldn't return and I'm sad to say this. If you're a very heavy sleeper (or drinker ha ha) it's a great place to stay.

We recently returned from our family holiday to Menorca. Overall our stay was absolutely incredible! The highlights were the location is great to get to the local beach. The staff are so friendly, they remember your name and make you feel very welcome. The catering staff were so helpful and even when our 19 month old dropped food they were so calm and nothing was too much. Our son loved the mini disco each night and a special visit around the pool from Barcy. The children's pool is fantastic for little ones too. The food changed every evening and there was so much choice, we loved the food! I used the spa which was very nice and had a massage too. Very few negatives.... we booked an upgraded room and although the bed was large and very comfortable and the bathroom nice and modern, the room felt very small!! We also didn't have our wedding changed once whilst we were there only the bed made and they didn't turn up until the mid afternoon which was disappointing. We would have also loved to see the evening entertainment as it looked great but each night it started 9:30-10:30 which is far to late for us sadly having an under 2. The entertainment team were brilliant and made my little boy feel special. Aside from these small issues, we loved our stay at the Occidental Hotel Menorca and will definitely be returning!

Clean hotel, 20 minute drive from the airport, close to a small but excellent selection of restaurants and a beautiful beach. The entertainment team were friendly and put on activities, such as aquaerobics and dancing. The pools were big and clean, the kids pool is a lot of fun. Rooms were good overall, could have more towel hooks though. The food is amazing! So much choice and very tasty. It doesn't start until 7pm though, which was late for our baby. Most guests are French, so a lot of the information wasn't in English. Air con was switched off during our stay which made sleeping for our baby difficult at night. But overall, a great place to stay! One of the best:-)

My husband and I visited with two other couples directly a 5 day visit. We loved it. Rooms are modern abd clean. Bathroom is nice but the shower did tend to flood onto the floor. Food was outstanding. Something different every day. Help yourself to soft drinks wine beer water The pools are just lovely. So different to the normal pools you see. There is also a water park (small children ) and another quiet pool just a short walk down the hill. Entertainment was a little hit and miss but the entertainment team really did their best to made you feel at home. Beach is a 5 min walk down a small hill. The beach is beautiful. A few restaurants along the front. All in all a top class hotel. Thank you

I stayed here for 3 nights - 9th-12th Oct - it was my first solo holiday and I loved it! Room:- Lovely and modern, very clean on entry and cleaned each day I was there. Only thing was the shower head had broken so wouldn't sit in the slot so had to hold it over my head when I showered, this wasn't a major thing and didnt feel the need to report it as I was only there for 3 nights but maybe worth mentioning that that needs fixing (room 2009 haha) Food:- I am a fussy eater and I managed to find things I liked each night for dinner. The strawberry yoghurt at breakfast was lovely and I loved the Mexican night too. Never mega busy either so didn't feel chaotic. Obviously it's a bit daunting to eat at an all-inclusive hotel restaurant solo but I was never made to feel awkward at any point. My table never got taken. I liked being able to help myself to drinks too. Pools:- Lovely pool area, very clean, never any trouble finding a sunbed. Water very cold though is the only thing I'll say so wasn't able to go for a dip really but I didn't mind that as I enjoyed having a sunbathe anyway. Bar:- Only thing I would say is that the use of plastic cups isn't very environmentally friendly. Reusable plastic glasses or acrylic glass would be better. But other than that, efficient friendly service and didn't have any problem finding something I liked. Entertainment:- Now this is the highlight of the hotel. Having used to work in animation abroad myself and currently working in the UK in holiday park entertainment, they felt like my friends. Joan and Carmine in particular made me feel very welcome and always said hola. I speak Spanish myself and I loved conversing with them in the language. I even sang on karaoke in Spanish and they were all dancing to it which was lovely. Also as I was there alone, I had no one to take pictures for me, they were very happy to do this for me on my phone. Joan and Carmine's yoga and stretching classes were great too. Although I didn't take part in aqua gym (pool too cold haha) their enthusiasm when leading this cannot go unnoticed, particularly as it was in peak heat of the day too! Hats off to you guys! ¡muy bien trabajo! Overall, it was a great place for my first solo holiday. I would say ignore any previous bad reviews. ¡Muchas gracias, Occidental Menorca!

This hotel may not be right on the beach, but it very may well be from how close it is. It is not even a 5 minute walk down to Punta prima beach. If you like to explore, there are quite a few hidden coves that are great for swimming in. One even has a metal ladder going in to… and honestly I spent most my days here. The hotel is situation right across a bus station that can take you to the capital for some shopping or amazing sunset dinners, or to a number or towns over. The nightly buffet themes changes everyday, but delicious and full of variety. The DJ was a little annoying at the end of the night, but that’s because I wake up early and don’t like listening to noise until 1am.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU HAVE INFANTS - I visited this hotel with my friend and 2 of our 1.5 year olds last week, we did not feel welcome here, we left feeling robbed and disappointed. - I have travelled all over the world and this hotel is definitely NOT A 4-STAR, and not all inclusive. 'Cocktail and watered down and not freshly made - poured out of jug that beed sitting there until someone requests it. I was expecting to be able to eat as and when especially travelling with a toddler - he is very picky with food at the moment. The only food inclusive to us was a (pre-made) ham and cheese sandwich with fries, if not you had to wait until lunch or dinner. - Most of the workers at this hotel do not speak a word of English , which I found to be strange. - Food in the restaurant was mediocre and extremely bland. A lot of the fruit was mouldy. The waiters were rude and wouldn't even greet us! - Tv in one of our rooms did not work the whole time we was there, despite having asked for it to be fixed. - There was stains of the sheets, from the day we arrived to the day we left so obviously there were never changed. - The room did not come with a kettle or bath my infant. I would have thought that if I had booked a cot, they would use initiate and put a kettle (for milk) and baby bath in the room. Instead, had to wait till morning and request it, which meant after hours of travelling I couldn't bath my baby (as he is petrified of the shower - most babies are!) - They say its 'child-friendly', but they do not cater to young infants. Disco starts at 8:45pm - what toddler is awake at this time?! - No plates/cutlery for infants. My little one is new to feeding himself, and he accidentally dropped a plate on the floor and instead of being understanding to the fact that he's a young baby still learning to eat by himself, one particular waiter gave me a scolding look (honestly, if looks could kill!) and we were labelled as 'uncivil' when we complained about the trea**ent we had received. - Each time we attempted to go to the soft play, it was closed. When it rained, the 'kids club' workers brought board games into a room but nothing for my son to do and when we enquired whether soft play would be open one of the workers rolled her eyes and walked away pretending that she couldn't hear us! POOR SERVICE, POOR STANDARDS, AND NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

After being to many all inclusive hotels in Spain/Turkey/Greece! This has got to be the worst I have ever come across! 1no pool bar serving all guests day and night, Premium spirits displayed on shelves, but when asked for a Smirnoff vodka and tonic the answer was it’s not included!! Cheap nasty drinks only included! Even Schweppes tonic water was extra at €2.20 a bottle Food was passable but only buffet style for breakfast lunch and dinner Deposit for everything like towels/room safe/irons and ironing board plus no tea/coffee making facilities in your room (Definitely not a 4 Star hotel) Do your homework before booking this hotel!!
