HL Club Playa Blanca

Upon arriving as a family of 5 we found the sofa bed in the living room to be non existent. We had a wooden fold away frame that was just inches of the ground with ripped thin foam pads, covered with a dirty sheet that had not been replaced from previous guests. I spoke with reception as the bed was not fit for purpose for a 6ft guest and it was not what we were expecting from our booking. I was met with nothing but rudeness and the lady just shaking her head at me before I could even speak. The outcome was nothing they could do. So I have since found out, they chose to do nothing about my complaint as other bungalows do in fact have actual sofa beds in the room. We could have easily been moved as I was told there were plenty of 2 bed bungalows available as I questioned the price of one for our guest to have instead of having to sleep on a wooden slab! The dirty sheet reported was not even changed the whole time we were there. We did not use the fold away, we had to make do with sleeping on a PVC sofa. Other guests we met whilst at the hotel also experienced similar attitude from the lady on reception. When questioned why she did not speak with kindness to guests so quoted she was so busy. If this is the case why customer service is lacking, then the hotel need to address this. This really put a dampener on our holiday from day 1. We reported our concerns to the Jet 2 Rep before leaving who agreed the bed was not adequate and our complaint could have easily been resolved. It got our holiday off to a bad start which was a great shame as the bungalow itself was lovely, the cleaners did a good job and the food I could not fault. The grounds are immaculate and well kept. The location was ideal, just a 10 minute walk from the town, marina and beach. The pool was freezing cold which put the children off. We had no issues getting sunbeds. The entertainment for children was disappointing. It was the same songs each night for the kids disco. The children would have liked more than half an hour on an evening. We saw a good few shows for the adults during our 11 days there. There is no entertainment day or night on a Sunday. The animation team work tirelessly.

Lying here on our last night sad to be going home in the morning! We are a party of 11 ranging from adults in their 60s, 20s & 30s with 2 x 3 year olds and a 9 month old baby and what a fantastic holiday we have had! The bungalows are spacious and clean, the hotel grounds and pool area is stunning. The all inclusive food is great - we always found something to eat and again the restaurant is clean and to a high standard. Pool bar snacks were our go to at lunch as the kids were either in the pool or the park. Yes the pools are cold when you 1st get in but you adjust within seconds and I've not been on a holiday yet where this wasn't the case. The hotel staff are really friendly and polite and nothing is too much trouble for them. The entertainment staff work incredibly hard day and night with activities like water polo, aqua aerobics and shooting etc. To the kids mini disco and evening shows the kids love them! Special shout out to Niko who made us laugh every day - fantastic at his job and an over all great guy. We enjoyed our experience so much with the HL group we are booking the HL rio for November to celebrate our little girls birthday and we already can not wait to be back! Lovely trip to this hotel over half term week. few issues as below We had to wait for two hours upon arrival as our rooms were not ready - we could get some lunch and access to drinks etc but kids wanted to jump straight into pool and we wanted to get unpacked etc. Only 1 bar open during the day which is pool bar. Drinks are all in paper cups so recommend taking your own cups which is what we did. Not enough staff in restaurant - almost every meal time we had to clear the table before we could sit. - not major just a bit annoying Broken drain round the pool - kids kept falling through it - never fixed just balanced back. Positives Lots going on during the day if you like to join in. Show every evening although we didn’t go to see any. Rooms lovely and big plenty of space and clean Food was of a good standard lots of choice - we ate out twice in a week and once in the speciality restaurants On-site supermarket Live music in lobby bar was really good . Located across the road from Aqualava Waterpark park and 5 min walk from flamingo beach lovely restaurants and sandy beach. All in all a lovely holiday - great value for money would go back . X

Very mixed feelings about this place. Reception are very helpful, check-in was smooth. The accommodation is brilliant, very spacious and clean bungalows. Housekeeping come every day except Sunday and clean/make beds, replenish towels and take away rubbish. The grounds are very well kept. Location is fab, walk to the harbour and the beach or catch the free bus that comes twice a day to the seafront. The pool is not heated, hard to enjoy when the temperatures are low 20's, they feel a bit arctic. Lots of grit/dirt on the pool floor. On the 4th day my son jumped into the pool and luckily just missed a wine glass that was laying on the bottom! Sun loungers are in desperate need of a jet spray! On the 6th day we walked back to our bungalow from the restaurant and stepped in a load of vomit near the reception area . We spoke to lots of people who weren't feeling well over the course of the week. Food - this is the biggest downfall and the reason we probably won't return. On our 3rd day my husband spent the whole day between bed and the toilet being sick, we had not eaten anywhere else since being there so can only blame the food. The food is either overcooked and like rubber or very dry/stale or undercooked and pink in the case of chicken. The only things that are any good are the freshly made pizzas. Food from lunch left over is reheated and served again for dinner. Not once did we have an actual hot meal. Hamburgers are labelled as 'meat burgers' so god knows what meat is in it, beefburgers would be much more appealing!! Breakfast is hit and miss. Churros were nice when they weren't like cement! Finally, the a**osphere of the dining hall is awful. Noisy and chaotic, people rushing around everywhere. Plates get taken from infront of you by staff that just want you gone so they can clean the table. Some days we struggled to find a table so sat separately from each other! There needs to be a lot more work done on the whole dining experience to get me back there.

We read the reviews before booking. Sadly didn’t take too much notice of the food reviews. There was choice of different foods but the ones that were meant to be hot were tepid and quite poor quality meat. This spoilt the food. I realised there was a microwave so put my food in that. It helped. The included drinks are ok, such a shame that you only get tiny, not appropriate glasses. The staff were pleasant and the restaurant was very clean and kept tidy. The accommodation was 2 bed apar**ent which was great. Plenty of space even for a family. Lots of wardrobe space. A fridge,kettle and microwave. The pool was COLD. I didn’t do more than dip my toe. Such a shame. We were surprised at the amount of school aged children there as we went during term time. There was very loud music played from mid morning until about 3 pm each day at the pool bar. Some of the Music was not appropriate for children to hear. Location good, nice walk to the town. WiFi is charged for in your apar**ent per device, unless used in reception, which I believe it not to be secure. Not a problem for us but if you have kids who use data could be an issue. I would not go again. I would not recommend to my family or friends. We ate out 2 nights and 3 lunches. We bought our own wine and beer also.

Lovely hotel. Food is amazing. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Animation team are amazing. They are so good with the children. Plenty of entertainment for them day and night. Cocktails are included with all inclusive which was good. Clean hotel with a great pool for kids also everything you need on site including laundry.

Very good hotel. The bungalows are kept very clean like the whole pool area. We could be never bored thanks to the animation team, Rasi Vero and the boys made our holiday unforgettable. We loved all the activities but unfortunately not a lot of people wanted to participate. We would come back just for the animation. Main downgrade is food, not so much choice and doesn't taste fresh, but was not a problem for us since we ate a lot outside. For the rest we have no complaints. Loved our vacation.

AVOID book somewhere else the water is freezing the hotel is out dated broken deck chairs and staff do not care the water park cost about 80 euro for a family of 4 please read the small print as they say you have access to the park they just don't highlight how much you have to pay .

The hotel spoilt our holiday the cleaners refused to clean our rooms even after my son got sick it took us 3 times going to reception to get disinfectant products as there was no sign of the cleaners. As we spoke to others we found out many other guests were sick. reported vomit on pathways which wasn't cleaned even after reporting it a number of times (still there after 24 hours). The management weren't bothered about the hygiene in and around the hotel grounds. The food was terrible we ate out most days which is not what you want on an all-inclusive holiday. We never saw the pool been tested or cleaned during our stay. We also payed extra for the water park to b told it was partly closed for maintenance it was our jet 2 rep that told us about the free tickets to aqua larva. I wouldn't return to this hotel
