Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort

Got upgraded from a standard room to a sea-view suite. The sea view was incredible and the service was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to receive such great treatment even with a pre-booked package.

I'm not sure why the ratings are so low. The breakfast spread was quite extensive, with everything you'd expect. I was also surprised that you could snorkel right in front of the hotel! Getting around the hotel grounds was always by golf cart, and the response times were generally good. I really can't find many faults. It's a large house, maybe 4 stories high. The lowest floor might have some quirks; I noticed my friend's room didn't have a coffee maker but did have a dehumidifier, which was different from ours. Other than that, there wasn't much to complain about. We weren't really planning on just lounging in the room anyway, and there's a free shuttle to Kamala.

Beautiful hotel with a rich breakfast spread. The only downside is its inconvenient location, with not much to do around the area. However, the hotel itself offers nice views.

The room boasts standard five-star amenities, feeling neither damp nor outdated. While the ocean view from my room wasn't spectacular due to its lower floor, its proximity to the restaurant, lobby, and pool made getting around incredibly convenient. Breakfast quality was excellent, and the service was impeccable; the Thai smiles always put me at ease. The 'casa' (villa/suite) offered incredible views, and the sunsets and evening glow were stunning. The pool was large, though a bit exposed to the sun with no shade. The main drawback is the location, which is a bit remote – about 2 km from Kamala town, and a taxi to Patong starts at 200 THB. The beach right in front of the hotel was quite poor, with rough, yellowish sand that hurt my feet, and the ocean wasn't great either. However, for a pure resort stay, it's a fantastic choice.

A satisfying trip! Aside from the slightly inconvenient location halfway up the mountain, everything else was perfect. I was very pleased with the food, ambiance, views, and service.

The breakfast was great, and the facilities met Hyatt's standards. My kids loved the bunk beds in the family two-bedroom suite, but the smaller room had no windows. The public areas weren't huge, but the pool was spacious. The beach is right across the street; even though the sand isn't the best, it was nice and uncrowded, even in peak season. There's a security guard to help you cross the road, which is a nice touch. The only downside is that dining options nearby are quite limited. Overall, it's a good choice if you're looking to relax at the hotel and avoid crowds.

Facilities: The hotel has a large bathtub and a big balcony, perfect for drying clothes after swimming every day. Cleanliness: It was clean and tidy. Service: We emailed them beforehand to let them know it was our first family trip to Phuket. We booked a twin room, and adding an extra bed usually costs more. However, when we arrived, the front desk told us they had prepared a rollaway bed for our child, free of charge! Thumbs up for that! The Caucasian manager in the breakfast hall was also very friendly and humorous. He proactively introduced the hotel's free children's activities and invited us to participate. Environment: The infinity pool is beautiful and very photogenic. The sunset at CASA HOBO is stunning, but you need to book your spot early. The Hyatt is perfect for relaxing and staying in the hotel. Overall, I recommend it! (Everything was great except for the lack of shopping centers and convenience stores nearby.)

The room was a bit old and had a musty smell, and the bed was a little too soft. However, the public areas were great, and the pool and breakfast were excellent. They even upgraded us to a sea-view room, so being able to see the ocean from our room was a nice bonus.

The pros are that the hotel is very clean, and they do a great job with pest control, so no need to worry about ants. The cons are that the location is a bit out of the way, quite far from most attractions. There's nothing nearby, and you need a shuttle bus to get to the beach. Since the hotel is on a hill and the rooms are also on the hill, it's difficult to go for a casual stroll, as you're constantly walking uphill or downhill. The hotel's beach has too many rocks; it's good for catching small fish and shrimp after the tide goes out, but not suitable for swimming.
