Good location but very old facilities

The hotel has suffered during the Covid pandemic and recovering slowly. The location is right, not too far from the night market and other places with a nice beach. The hotel bungalows are basic, situated in nice surroundings. Staff are nice and helpful though. However the guy in charge at the seaside bar was an oxy*****. We were there with 100 + people for an event…… beer drinkers. From 5 till 10 pm the hotel management cranked up the techno music so loud that we had to leave the bar area! Couldn’t talk at all! Spoke to the guy in charge for several days to no avail! Even in my bungalow room quite far away the boom, boom, boom, boom was very noticeable. Definitely not for families with small kids…… and those would like to relax and watch the sunset.

The utterly dreadful 90s-style techno blasting from this hotel from 8 pm to 10.30 pm will dash any hopes of a peaceful evening if you happen to be staying nearby. The infantile 'tunes' are played on loop for just over two hours each night. I wonder if the hotel owner and the DJ realise how annoying, rediculous, outdated and off-putting all of this is.

We booked from 14/2 to 3/3 at Hawaii Resort Phu Quoc, the welcome on arrival was OK but we discovered a hotel in an advanced state of disrepair. The toilets at the reception clearly illustrate the lamentable state of the hotel - in the men's room, there is only one toilet and it was out of order for the entire duration of our stay and everything else was damaged - in the women's room there are two toilets, one no longer has a seat and the other is damaged, the soap dispenser is broken. If the reception is dirty then we can guess the rest. All the toilets in this hotel are in this state. The room – cleaning The room is acceptable although no door closes properly. There is no telephone in the room. Daily cleaning consists of making the bed and changing the towels, never a sweep. Breakfast: Everything is dirty in this restaurant, all the dishes are plastic, instead of teaspoons we have straws cut in two, there is no fresh milk. To save energy, the management only heats the food at the start of the service, after which you have to eat cold. How to eat dishes with sauce cold. Breakfast includes only Vietnamese dishes and the menus never change. Conclusion: Hawaii Resort Phu Quoc proudly boasts 3 stars but in reality it is a “Hotel Resort of the heart” reserved for locals. Tourists, flee.
