Hotels near Fresque Marie Curie in Paris

I booked this room at the very last minute. It turned out to be a great choice. It was a spur of the moment first visit to Paris. All the staff I met were very friendly. Linda at the reception spent a great deal of time providing advice and direction for my two days of exploring Paris. I booked a single room - by U.S. standards it was small! But it was very clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. There is a lift so at checkin/out you don't need to use the stairs with your luggage. . The narrow street in front of the hotel is full of a great variety of restaurants, bakeries, shops and bars. This hotel is very conveniently located a quick walk from the Place Monge Metro station and less than a 15 minute walk from the Luxembourg station on the RER B line - a direct route to/from CDG. Simply a great location away from the major tourist center yet all those tourist points of interest are easily accessed by Metro. I would definitely stay here again.

El hotel queda en la parte sur de París, no tan cerca de la parte turística de la ciudad, pero está cerca de una estación de metro. Inicialmente, estábamos super preocupados por los comentarios de chinches en los cuartos, pero afortunadamente no paso nada de eso, pero se que a unos amigos que iban con nosotros, si tuvieron problemas con los chinches, parece que es algo de suerte. Los cuartos son algo pequeños: una cama, una barra para colgar chaquetas y una pequeña mesa con una silla y lucen algo antiguas las habitaciones. El agua caliente funciona bien. La calefacción no la usamos ya que no hacía tanto frío. Al baño le falta algo de limpieza, tenia mucho moho. El desayuno es buffet y es bastante bueno con diferentes opciones. El servicio del personal también fue muy bueno. Fueron muy amables. Solo un detalle para que tengan cuidado. Un día salimos todo el día y cuando regresamos, la puerta estaba entreabierta. Al parecer, la persona de la limpieza al salir, no cerró bien la puerta. Afortunadamente no se nos perdió nada, pero la verdad nos asustamos mucho.

There are a few things to say about this place first: First, the location is absolutely superior. The Latin Quarter is beautiful. It is an old-fashioned Paris neighborhood. You can walk to the city and various places. This alone makes it worth staying here, regardless of the hotel. How about it. Second, there are different areas in the hotel, basically two separate 4-story buildings with a courtyard in the middle. I feel like there are good and bad buildings in these two buildings. Anyway, we live in a good building. Third, the hotel is closed during the day, which would be troublesome if it's winter or if you're sick, but after all, it's not a problem for us. We booked a double room for 5 nights, bringing our own bedding. Room: very very small, with sink. Very Parisian. There was a very small floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the courtyard, and I wouldn't have realized how small the room was if it weren't for the fact that our luggage almost couldn't fit inside. The security issues can only be said to be basic. The waiters will come to ”clean” every day, whether you like it or not (I suspect that the so-called ”cleaning” may just ventilate the room, because this old-fashioned building may get damp or something?) . Not sure, but you might lose some small items (change, etc.) at this time, so be sure to take your belongings with you or lock them up, because people will come in even when the door is closed. Bed: Very basic, but quite comfortable. We brought our own bedding, but after a few nights we paid for a set (not much money), which was okay, but I was worried about the cleanliness. Bathroom: Average, I don't want to say more. Very basic (my standards are already very low, my bathroom at home is outdoor). I wouldn't dare use the bathroom here in winter. The shower water is not hot (it's always ice cold) and the small floor-to-ceiling window doesn't seem to close properly. The shower was broken when we stayed (but we used spare water and it was quite sufficient). The toilet and bathroom are on different floors and the toilet is very basic. You need to bring your own toilet paper, because they often run out of it, and bring your own hand sanitizer. If the quality of this hotel is lowered, the cleanliness and safety quality of the bathroom will really be a fatal problem. In other respects it's pretty good. Waiter: Excellent. They all speak English (and other languages ​​as well), are calm, civilized, competent, and friendly. They always sit down and chat with guests. It seems that most of them are local college students. They are definitely the highlight of the hotel, few of them are wild kids that party hard, they all tend to talk about literature and politics, which is really good. In addition, they are also very helpful in booking taxis and buses for you. Facilities: The pay phone was broken. Wi-Fi is expensive (if your French is good enough to log in, find a park with Wi-Fi). There are small kitchen facilities where you can cook your own meals. Most things you need (groceries, laundry services, etc.) are available nearby. Very close to the city and public transportation system. Storing valuables at the front desk will keep them safe (not sure 100%, but much better than leaving them in the house). Others: The breakfast was quite good, with cereals and baked goods, toast, juice, coffee, and tea. Being closed during the day was not an inconvenience (I thought it was), but one day we got soaked and wanted to go inside to change, but no one let us in. I would like to reiterate that I am very impressed with this place, even with all the shortcomings. I should also point out that I didn't see or have anything to do with the hostel, and even if there was, I wouldn't have booked it (it's certainly not clean, safe, or stylish). It's a safe place with a lovely atmosphere if you're feeling adventurous, but if you're more interested in cleanliness and stability than character, look elsewhere.

Good hotel. Solid experience. Feels like a 4 star hotel. Kind and accommodating staff. Giving me extra soft tissues as I had a cold during my stay. Nice little french balcony. Good location near metro and lots of restaurants and bars. Close to notre dame, and jardin luxembourg. Walkable pretty neighborhood(Paris 5eme) right by Sorbonne University. Would come back, hopefully without a cold next time. Only drawback, bar is seldom serviced and the selection is limited.

Paris is about making the most of your time and that is the secret of Hotel des Arenes. Set in the heart of the Latin Quarter, there is so much on your doorstep! The Latin Quarter itself (near the Sorbonne) is vibrant and also represents the best value place to eat or drink in Paris. Hop on the Metro and all other major landmarks are minutes away. However I recommend a first morning walk to Notre Dame, then work your way down the Seine to all other sites and sounds. The Hotel des Arenes is all you need for a short stay. Friendly and attentive staff, clean and adequate rooms (with safe and fridge), continential breakfast and if you feel fit enough, a straight line walk to the Champs Elysees! It sits besides a Roman arena that is 2000 years old, you know you are in the heart of Paris.

This comfortable and beautiful hostel is so near the Bercy Bus and Train station. You can go the city center and all tourists places via metro, buses in a very short time. There are several good restaurants and cafes near the hostel to eat or have a drink. The room stayed was so clean and comfortable. It also had a balcony. The staff are so kind, understanding,smiled-face and helpful people. I thank them all. If you want to visit Paris for a couple of days as a solo traveller like me, this beautiful, peaceful and safe hostel is a great place for you. I strongly recommend it.

We stayed 6 nights in mid September. Based on the staff, we would give this hotel 5 stars. They were incredibly kind and helpful. But, would give the hotel 2 stars. The hotel was overpriced for what we got. We previously requested a room with a walk in shower but upon arrival they said they were sold out and didn’t have one. I told them I sent an email and they wanted me to prove it. Then said they had gotten it but didnt read it. They did say to check the next day because a room may become available but we had unpacked and settled in. Our room was small. The safe was broken and every day we asked if it was fixed yet. The cabinet door under the coffeemaker was also broken. We had sent our laundry out early morning and it was supposed to be back same day. When we came in we were told it wasn’t back yet. Next morning they told us the laundry came back but they didn’t let us know. Please be very very careful getting in and out of the tub as the floor is MUCH lower than the inside of the tub (by almost 2 feet). The staff did send up a foot stool which was most gracious. I fell backwards out of the tub and discovered later that I had fractured my tailbone. When I told the front desk I fell they said I should be more careful and that they did offer to change our room. Didn’t have breakfast - only a coffee - but didn’t see much out unless people could possibly order from a menu. Location was good near the Gardens and the Latin Quarter. As I mentioned before, the staff was great and went out of their way mostly. In my opinion though, not worth the money we paid.

The hotel is very close to the train station that takes you everywhere. The room is so charming and clean. We had two rooms together with a connecting door for our family of 4. Both rooms had balcony with a great view. We even had breakfast in the balcony. The staff was very nice and caring. Coming back to Paris we will stay here again.

We stayed in a double room, and I must say it was the tiniest room I have ever stayed in a long while. There was barely any space to move. The bathroom was in a tiny corner where it was uncomfortable even using the toilet. The mattress was super soft, probably quite old and not comfortable. Also, cleaning was not up to standards. We stayed 3 days and it was cleaned only once. The first day they wanted to clean it at arond 6pm but at that time we were resting, so we had to decline. Staff, however, was friendly and polite in general. Location was decent, pretty well connected

We booked 2 rooms online (2 adults & 2 children in each room). When we arrived, one of the staff gave us 2 separate rooms for only 1 family! and the staff was very rude & didn't offer any solution. He made us to run around to their other property across the road. Finally, other staff offered solution & gave us the rooms we had booked! It was a bad experience! Rooms are spacious. But carpets need to be cleaned & look very bad. We didn't opt for breakfast, so, no comments!
