The Swan Hotel

Fantastic and attentive service from the team which made it a really pleasurable visit. Nothing was too much trouble and the lunch menu was great quality and value. It was great to enjoy the sunshine overlooking the river and I will definitely return again.

Bedroom was smart and clean, and a moderate size. The Bar area and seating by the River were smart and comfortable, with lovely view Advertised parking, but the parking was ONLY ad-hoc, and we had to park over 500 metres away in a side street. We booked and paid for a room with a Bath, but could only have one if we paid a premium. Without any notification the bar shut at 8.30pm on the Sunday. Whilst we were playing cards in the guest's lounge, around 9.15/30pm suddenly the lights were turned off, and when we challenged the staff as to why, we were told they had to be turned off when the staff left the building, and should we wish to continue talking and playing cards, we should go to our bedroom !!!! We tried very politely to explain that this just wasn't acceptable, but the 'Senior' member of staff (Jade) became very rude and objectionable, and simply wasn't interested in our comments. Until this establishment carries out a performance review of the staff, implements some customer service training, and amends/improves its current working practices we would never recommend staying at this hotel to anyone.

Room not serviced but apparently that was my fault as ready for service sign is compulsory!. Never stayed in a hotel where that was the case in my life. Bar closed 10:30 Saturday, bar staff said sorry Sunday evening at 8:30pm as we walked in despite two people in the bar drinking. Plus points, friendly lady ex Essex behind the bar, large room but the bathroom is a disaster, water from the shower splashes and wets way out into the bathroom, light goes off, nowhere to put your sponge bag. The room service was semi corrected reluctantly, with throwing the duvet on the bed, clean cups and towels, clean glasses and an extra pack of biscuits. Avoid the place like the plague atrocious service.

Went for lunch. Both vegan options on the menu were not being served. I had a Mediterranean tart instead which I was assured was vegan but I was not convinced. The meal was adequate. Didn't like the "empty" chips. Probably won't go again. Disappointed. The building and the decor is lovely and the riverside situation is idyllic. Not a place for vegans to eat though.

beautiful pub, lovely setting, the room was clean, light and airy and the bed was very comfortable. the staff are all incredibly friendly and the breakfasts legendary!!! we stayed two nights and explored the town and also Great Malvern, both very picturesque.

Wonderful, the most pleasant, friendly and helpful staff you could ever meet. The room was spotless, beds comfortable and the room was lovely and warm despite the cold weather. Enjoyed breakfast but most of all everything we experienced was the opposite to the negative reviews that have been previously posted. Excellent choice of beers and lagers which were perfect contrary to some reports ! Coming from a Welsh town with it's own award winning ales (Felinfoel) my husband knows what he's talking about ! Debbie couldn't be more helpful and others were always available for advice such as the best place for a curry. Rooms were being updated and our next visit promises to be even better. Superb location alongside the river. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and we will visit again

Parking is non existent and there is no parking nearby rooms are very small and the whole place is dated and needs a refurb.

My wife and I stayed at the Swan Hotel on Wednesday 13th September 2023. The hotel is attractively situated by the river, with plenty of outdoor seating on the river bank. Inside the hotel there is a feast of old wooden beams, many of which have been chalked on by visitors and visiting boat teams. There is a comfortable, friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff. We ate in the hotel restaurant where the prices were reasonable and the food and drink very good. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with a large smart TV, tea and coffee making facilities, complementary biscuits, and a modern bathroom. The area was quiet so there were no disturbances. Our room overlooked the river. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Swan Hotel again, and highly recommend it.
