. I was allocated Room 302 upstairs at the front of the hotel. This accommodation is of a very poor standard and I do not consider it was worth the money I paid for it for the following reasons: •There was a very noticeable damp smell in the room. •The room was cold all night and the storage heater provided barely worked for a few minutes at a time. •The bathroom was very cold with no available heating. •The television or the remote control didn’t work. The volume button was stuck on one volume and most of the available television stations were pixilated and unwatchable. The tv stayed on some type of bright standby screen all night and I couldn’t switch it off as the socket was in a jumble of electrics behind the screen and I didn’t dare touch it because it all looked so unsafe. This bright light severely affected my sleep all night. •At one stage during the night I went to the counter/ table where the kettle was located and there was a large slug on it. Not surprising given the smell of dampness in the room. I told all of this to the receptionist on duty on 2/10/24 when I was checking out but didn’t get the impression that there would be any follow up. I also rang the hotel two weeks later and spoke to a manager who said she would grillwork up my complaint and respond to me within 24 hours. I never heard anything further which is why I am now posting this review.

Seen in the local paper that carvery had come back , stopped in on way out of town for a quick bite so much choice very colour full and well displayed salads .
