The first thing I will mention is that the hotel is 5 star and is expectedly, very expensive, being in the heart of Times Square. I took this into account when writing my review. If I am paying that much, my expectations would be higher than normal. I stayed for 12 nights over the Christmas and NY period so I obtained a very comprehensive view of the hotel and everything about it. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and the staff were always there to attend to any requests and issues. The moment I got out of my transfer car, there was a lovely young gentleman waiting to get all my bags and transport me upstairs to the reception. The check-in was reasonably flawless but there was a bit of confusion around the payment because of resort fees the hotel charges daily. I prepaid my booking and there was confusion over whether it included or excluded the resort fee. The reception area is immaculately presented and the bar and restaurant are both located here. I intended to use the gym during my stay, but didn't have time to even take a peek. Nor did I visit the bar or restaurant. There's way too many options outside to do that. The very polite and courteous young gentleman then took me up to my room. He showed me everything and away he went. I got a bit of a room upgrade which I highly appreciated and had a beautiful view of Times Square. I was on the 2nd highest floor, floor 39. The room is not big. It was adequate for one person but nothing more. I don't think I would be able to stay here if I was with another person. It would be too uncomfortable and I had to find space for my 2 suitcases and carry-on. The bathroom is open plan, with a door for the shower and toilet. A big problem I had in my room was that if it was windy you will hear a loud whistle coming through the bottom of the front door. It really annoyed me. I had to take the cover off the bed and make a snake shape to block the gap underneath the door to stop the noise. Even a bath towel didn't work. They need to fix this. The hotel is very new and the rooms are very beautifully equipped, presented and maintained. I was pleased to see that most of the things I requested before I arrived (some extra bath mats, bath towels, hand towels, face towels, mini fridge, bathroom scale) were mostly there upon arrival. I quantified the number of towels I needed as I was not getting any housekeeping during my 12 night stay but I did not get the quantity requested. I expected a bit more attention to detail for a 5 star hotel. Before I arrived I was asked if I was celebrating a special occasion and Guest Services pushed up my expectations as I was celebrating a special occassion and they said something nice, I assume maybe a cake or some alcohol would be waiting for me in the room. When I arrived there was nothing. And there was never going to be anything throughout my stay. I didn't mind and only remembered towards the end of the stay. First, I'd like to thank Daniel, Efren, Omar, and the entire staff for their excellent service. They made this trip truly enjoyable and demonstrated why one should choose to stay at the CDMX above all other options. The hotel is beautiful and a truly luxurious experience. Furthermore, this hotel is in the middle of everything. It's very easy to walk to nearly every tourist destination and it's right on the hop on/hop off bus route. I would highly recommend for you trip to CDMX.

Because the plane was late, I arrived at the hotel at 1 o'clock in the middle of the night. The lady at the front desk helped me to check in very quickly. It was the speed of New York. Hotel location is very good. About 5 minutes walk to Fifth Avenue, turn to Central Park, and the subway station will walk for 5 minutes. The hotel is a post-modern urban minimalist style, the room is good, very New York apartment feel, but the breakfast is a bit too casual, too simple, but the breakfast at the New York hotel is probably so good, it is a very good hotel

Great location. But the service standards absolutely disappointed. In room telephone was not working and despite repeated complaints it was not repaired through my stay of 4 nights. So basically we had to go down all the way to reception every time we wanted something at the room. From toiletries to food to water. Even the front desk as well as the duty manager simply expressed inability to do anything about it Initially even some of the lights in the room were not working. Room is a bit dark and it will be nice to have more lights, but since mine was on high floor it was ok when I opened the curtain. Friendliness is so-so, but not particularly unfriendly either. The hotel doesn’t seem to have any other facility like gym, pool or even a restaurant, but you can make your coffee and cocoa at lobby for free. There’s a small lovely balcony at the lobby as well. Overall happy with stay and will come back if I have chance.

Only the weekend housekeeping person is not into her job, didn’t want to clean the room as she said that she cannot clean the room if I’m staying inside the room. Amazing hotel in the best area , close to everything . Hotel itself clean , cute cozy. Room is very decent, we see the Empire State from our room , breakfast has hot and cold stuff and to go food if you want for a snack , I loved their coffee. People from reception, breakfast team, housekeeping are decent , helpful and working hard. They hv a cozy cute table downstairs for a drink or the 26th floor which is the top notch to see NY and direct to the Empire State. My only recommendation pls do a deep clean for the carpet in z rooms as we noted stains . I def recommended and will go there again and again

We stayed around thanksgiving time. Great hotel to be close to the Macy’s parade. We only had to walk 1/2 a block. The hotel has 2 hotels in one. Which can get crowded when getting on the elevators. Room seem smaller than most hotels. With just enough room to move around. Hall way are extremely thin allowing foot traffic to be as single file line. Room service for cleaning is every 2 or 4 days. You have to let front desk if you need anything replenished. They will stock you up and night time, so be prepared to have a visitor at night. Unfortunately we were too tired to get up for breakfast. So we missed out on it and can’t review the breakfast. Hosts were nice and welcoming.

We stayed here during our trip for five days. This was our first time in New York City and it was exceptional. Since it was the first time visiting, I spent weeks researching hotels looking at neighborhoods, reviews, room types, everything! I’m so happy we decided on The Gotham! From the front desk to the restaurant there were no issues. Everyone was very helpful, attentive, and kind. The pictures are exactly like the rooms. We stayed in the king balcony room on the back side of the building which was really cool and quiet. We also stayed in the queen balcony room because we didn’t do our dates correctly lol and thankfully they had a room open. Looking out on the balcony in the queen room was awesome. We are returning over Christmas and have rebooked the queen balcony room and I can’t wait! This room is noisier but it’s not to the point of not being able to sleep. My husband and I live in the country surrounded by cow fields so if I can sleep with the noise level anyone can!
