The Mercantile Hotel

I cannot recommend this establishment enough. The hotel is beautiful and well appointed. The location was perfect and central to everything we wanted to do in NOLA. But what really made our stay was the incredible staff! We were blown away with how kind, gracious and accommodating everyone was. We were welcomed so warmly. Our deepest gratitude to Maggie, the GM, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Her attention to detail during our Taylor Swift weekend didn’t go unnoticed. Biggest THANK YOU to The Mercantile for for an unforgettable stay and an absolutely amazing weekend!! - Your Pennsylvania Girls

I took my cousin to New Orleans for his 21st bday and the place was great for the price and customer service helped me book an extra day because we didn’t wanna leave! The place was in a great area but the parking sucked.
Voco ST. James Hotel

I had a booking in the Meredien hotel (one block from this one), and decided to also stay one night in this hotel. The contrast is huge. While the Meridien is a modern business hotel, this one is more 'authentic'. It is much smaller, and in a side street that does not look very safe at night (to be clear: I had no issues!). I booked the hotel via the IHG website, where was registered as a Voco hotel. It is, but the main name is ”St James”, which is a bit confusing. I had a room on the second floor, one that brings you back in time, but in a positive way. Staff is friendly and interact more direct with the customers. Breakfast was good, but there is no buffet. A bit annoying: the elevator is very slow, and when you take the stairs, you end at an exit door - there is no way to take the stairs to the lobby.
Catahoula Hotel New Orleans

This is my first Trip Advisor review ever, and I have travelled extensively. I just never leave reviews....so take that into consideration when reading this.... Selena Catahoula New Orelans/Selena Hospitality Group WILL NOT RESPOND AND WILL NOT ISSUE THE REFUNDS WE DESERVE. DO NOT BOOK!!!! Me and my friends booked three rooms at this hotel almost a year ago for the Taylor Swift concert (Booked Oct 25, 2023). We had a great rate and were happy with the proximity to the super dome. When we originally booked, we reserved the rooms with no issues, then a few months later in December 2023 we received an email stating that in order to confirm our reservation we would need to pay for one full nights stay in advance. This seemed a little shady but we all paid. Now a couple of weeks ago (August 28, 2024), we get an email from Selena ”Reservations USA” stating that our reservation had been cancelled due to ”new management”. We all called the hotel and got three different answers. I was told that we would get an email the following day with a re-booking link to book our room again at the SAME rate, however we would have to pay again, before we got our refunds. We never got an email to rebook. So a few days later I call again and the staff member tells me that I will not be able to rebook at the same rate and that the new rate is triple the price I paid. She also didn't know when we would get refunds....So another week goes by and we get an email from the hotel saying that we will get refunds at some point, then the following day we receive an email from the GM saying that it is his last day with the company. I reply to all of these emails and get no response. I have attempted to contact the Selena Hotel Corporation and the ”contact us” page is down and when you call the number it sends you to a message and then disconnects. So in the end we are out a combined $1000 and had to book a new hotel that was absurdly overpriced because obviously any hotel in the New Orleans metro area is going to be priced sky high when booking two months out for the Taylor Swift concert weekend...thats why we booked a year out to avoid this issue! What a joke this has been.
Courtyard New Orleans Warehouse Arts District

This was a nice base for our business meetings (off site) - plenty of on-site amenities and numerous walkable options. The room was quiet - I had a balcony room over the pool on the fourth floor. If the pool was busier it might be a but noisy for the second floor (opens to the pool) but my experience was quiet. The only complaint I have is not with this property specifically, but with certain Marriott hotels. As many hotels have done, Marriott has transitioned to the pump bottles on the wall in the shower. This is fine, but the font size and contrast are terrible when you are trying to distinguish shampoo from body wash. Even with my glasses I had to get close, and without them it's hopeless. Other hotels have contrasting colors and larger fonts - that's really the only issue I had with my stay.
