Even before we arrived the timeliness on response to my reservation and the willingness of the staff was awesome!!! I booked without really reading everything (which was clearly stated) for our room. I went with my mom for her 70th and my 40th… I booked a room on the 3rd floor which was non issue for me but I bit of a struggle with luggage for her. They took all our bags to the room. Had a lovely bday note with btl of wine waiting for us upon arrival. The location was clutch. Matt and Linzy couldn’t have been any nicer or more helpful. Linzy even went the extra step of marking suggestions and a clear path on a paper map for my mom which she preferred. Everything is in close walking distance to the French quarter, Frenchman st. And a short Uber ride to the other districts. If you have a hard time with stairs spend a lil bit extra to get a ground floor room. Beds are super comfortable, extra sheets, pillows, towels etc are provided. Coffee maker, fridge, cups, plates etc are all provided. We had a lil bit of a hard time figuring out the tv (that’s just us not being very tech savvy) but Linzy can up to our room and set it all up for us within 5 mins. I can’t sign the praise of this place enough. If you have a problem they will solve it…. Most of which had nothing to do with the establishment. The kindness show by all of them will never be forgotten. Anyone writing negative reviews must just be unhappy and negative people in their own life. I would and will stay with them again.

The Jean Lafitte House website is utterly deceptive. We self-checked-in to our ‘loft apar**ent’ just after 5pm on a Friday. No staff on the premises. Our third-floor walkup apar**ent (the biggest one they offer) was dark, dingy, and extremely dirty. The furniture was shabby and there was a cheap rug permanently curled near the kitchen that posed a tripping hazard. Photos on the website for this apar**ent are staged with extra pillows and flash to give it light. The floors were sticky and the rugs not vacuumed. In the main living space, one overhead light was nowhere near enough to read or work. We were put off enough to leave and seek another hotel. Do NOT stay at Lafitte!! It has none of the charm of New Orleans that we were expecting.

Staying here has made our NOLA trip so easy and perfect. Between the kitchen and private bedroom it’s perfect for a little family vacation. Location is ideal, walking distance to all main attractions without having to be in the middle of all the craziness. Blu at the front desk has been amazing helping us get organized and make the most of our trip. Truly such a lovely individual.

Very convenient to the French Quarter. Easy to walk to the French Quarter market and restaurants. There is free street parking. The rooms need better blinds. The inside of the room is visible from the outside.

What a disappoin**ent. Outdated furniture, nasty carpet, a room on the third floor with no elevator, bent and broken blinds and curtain rods, a mattress that bowed in the middle and was a full size, charges for not washing your dishes and moving the furniture, a pool with leaves in it constantly, no sign outside to even tell us where we were, no closet upstairs in the bedroom, I could go on.

I absolutely loved this place. The vibe was perfect! The location was perfect! The price was more than reasonable. The staff was lovely and accommodating. I'm DEFINITELY staying here again. 10 out of 10 would absolutely recommenda

We stayed here through our timeshare exchange on Interval. It was odd that they contacted us in advance that if we did not give them a credit card they would cancel our reservation. We then found out they don't staff the place 24/7 and would get access codes to let ourselves in which again seemed odd especially for a city location. When we arrived we immediately found problems with our room mainly broken items. We notified management and they were not corrected during our week long stay. We tried not to let it bother us and we made due. The worst part of the entire stay was the last night. Homeless people tried to get us to let them in when returning with some takeout food. Apparently one of them then booked a room, got in and let their friends in. I overheard them walking up the stairs talking about the ***** they bought (crack was one of them). At one point some of them were locked out of the unit and were banging on the door screaming for their friend to let them in until 2am. They even yelled to their friend that they would call management who would then call the police and arrest them for opioids. Not exactly a comfortable experience. We were checking out in the morning so we tried our best to get a little sleep before our flight the next morning. We will certainly not stay here again or recommend it to anyone else.

My husband and I travel all over the United States all the time. I got this one at random and I am so glad that I did. The staff is absolutely amazing and the rooms are everything you could be looking for. Living room kitchenette beautiful furniture beautiful area right near everything. I wish there were more than five stars that I could rate this at.

We booked this resort through RCI using our timeshare. The location is very good. Very close to French Quarter and walking distance to everything. Management is not on site regularly and office is staffed only from 9 am to 3 pm daily. If you are checking in any later than 3 pm, I highly recommend that you contact the resort ahead of time to make arrangements. Check-in is at 4 pm, but there is no guarantee that anyone will be there at that time. We arrived at 6:30 pm, which is not considered a late check-in by the average hotel's standards, and ended up stranded on the sidewalk with our suitcases for 1.5 hours, waiting for someone to return our calls and texts to the posted "after-hours" contact number. Turns out their phone did not allow them to call a non-US phone number, so by the time they figured out to call from someone else's phone, it was 8:30 pm and we had given up and checked in to another hotel for the night. Also, we booked a 2-bed unit through RCI and received a confirmation of that, but the manager said that RCI only reserved us a 1-bed unit. They were gracious enough to give us the 2-bed unit as they happened to have one available, and were apologetic about us not being able to check in. They offered to meet us there that night, but we had already paid for another non-refundable room by that point. Just contact the resort prior to check-in to confirm your arrival time, and you should be OK. My other chief complaint was that the common areas were neglected and dirty. The pool was like a swamp, but it was January, so no one would be likely to swim, but be aware of this if you are a cool-weather swimmer. The furniture is old and worn and the rugs in the unit were beyond filthy with sticky spots and stains. Bring slippers that you can either throw away or wash, because you will not want to walk on those rugs without foot coverings. The kitchen, bathroom and linens were clean but the unit is very dusty. I understand that keeping a building that is over 150 years old dust-free is impossible, but there were many neglected areas of the unit. I would not stay here again due to the lack of overall cleanliness.
