We stayed at three different places on our Speyside trip and Boath House was by far the highlight. The service was fun, warm and of an exceptional standard. The room we stayed in was beautiful, stylish and very well maintained. There are so many little touches that made our trip special - a night in the cosy cinema room and a sauna visit with essential oils so you can choose what you want dependant on your mood. The food was very good, and the drinks pairing was wonderful. Allie was an absolute superstar. Worth every penny and a great place to go to recharge. We'll be back with friends and family soon I'm sure!

Yesterday my daughter took me out for Mothers Day along with my husband who was acting as chauffeur. I decided last minute I would like to go Boath House just on the off chance. They gave us a great welcome and were very accommodating even although we had not booked. I am so glad I did as the whole atmosphere was very relaxing, the decor was lovely and so thoughtful even down to the yellow rose. Thereafter we had really good food which I so enjoyed and will certainly be back. I even got to talk to a Shetland pony on the way out. Thank you to my lovely daughter for taking me out for lunch and very well done to the staff at Boath House for making it such a memorable day. Very well deserved thanks.

Fantastic place- we were made very welcome from the moment we arrived. Friendly and attentive staff and the meal was delicious- we had the three course festive menu. We particularly enjoyed the lamb with truffles which was delicious. Great place we will be back!

Took some visiting friends here in the hope and expectation that the standards previously enjoyed would remain under changed ownership. Sadly this was far from so. The 'Sunday roast' dinners were deemed poor by all - basically a reheated meal with attendant vegetable mush. The standard of table service was abysmal and embarrassing at the staff's evident lack of experience and training. Eg spilling the wine whilst pouring a taste then leaving that glass unfilled after acceptance! Worst perhaps is that we had the decency to contact the owners to convey our dissatisfaction and were asked to leave some time for our concerns to be explored. Well, over 10 weeks on our tolerance has expired as neither contact nor explanation has been forthcoming. Managerial arrogance such as this does not warrant our custom and sadly, we can only record the demise of a once great place to dine and stay. There is much better available in the vicinity.

We’ve eaten here a few times and every meal has been fantastic. Although we were the only diners on our last visit (a Thursday lunchtime) the menu was really interesting and our choices were exquisitely prepared and served - it was like having a private chef at our disposal! This place is a real gem. Our previous visits have been on the weekend and it has been full every time.

We have dined many times in the Garden Cafe but not in the Boath House dining room or stayed in the hotel before. What a treat it was. We stayed in room 8, a ‘garden’ room with a separate private conservatory, large wet room and free standing bath within the room. Dinner on both nights was fantastic, wines were great and the lounge has an honesty bar which is well stocked. Candles are lit, lamps are on and the fire is on, all giving a lovely welcoming atmosphere. There is appropriate music, lovely floral arrangements and so much art it is like an art gallery (one of the owners is an artist). All staff were fantastic, discreet but attentive and knowledgeable. A very talented chef and team prepared for us tarts, beef, venison and pasta. Breakfast was also fantastic ranging from home made granola and jam, avocado on toast or full Scottish. Large grounds and gardens with plenty to see including a very unique sauna in the woods! Everything was marvellous and we will be back.

The hotel gained loads in both style and comfort after recent refurbishment. It is a hidden gem, an oasis of tranquillity for truly outstanding experience! Decor is minimal yet very elegant. The room we stayed in is large, stylish and incredibly comfortable . The bathroom amazing. Can’t wait to stay there again!

We were last here 10 years ago and just love the changes that have been made by the new owners. It is SO very relaxing here and you can't help but, switch off. The gardens are a real work of art, absolutely gorgeous. With roaring fires and candlelight throughout the house in the evenings and chairs placed around the gardens where you can relax, and listen to birdsong while watching the ducks fly by, it's just such a lovely environment. We were greeted on arrival by the cheerful Fred, who also served us breakfast both days, and shown to The Writers Studio - lovely! Very bijou, and I absolutely fell in love with the shower room and the fabulous Aesop products. Maybe it's because we own a holiday rental we feel the laminate floor let the studio down (wood flooring would have been much better), if there's a cork screw they should provide wine glasses, maybe as there's umbrellas in the house there could be at least one in the studio and (hubby's request) a toilet seat that doesn't fall down! While there's abundant heating and hot water, the boiler clicking on and off every ten minutes did affect my sleep quality enormously. They now serve only breakfast in the house with lunch and dinner in the Garden Café, so we had pre booked for our first night. Service unfortunately was very mediocre and food just didn't hit the spot. While the servers were extremely friendly we'd to ask for our drink order to be taken, then (after our empty glasses sat for some time) ask for the wine we'd ordered. Wine, after bring poured, was left on the table and we'd to then ask for a wine bucket! As the wine bucket arrived we asked if we could book for the following evening. Starters arrived but mine was not what I'd ordered and by the time my correct order arrived hubby had finished his. Not a good start. We'd ordered a pizza to share with a side of Ragu but unfortunately the pizza took some real work from us both to cut, very very chewy. The ragu was however, delicious. Dessert was the star of the evening, my chocolate tarte was one of the best I've ever eaten. We reminded the server about our request for the following evening and was then told told they were full. With only 2 other guests in the hotel that night it must have been non guests dining. However, after our dining experience we weren't too disappointed. We think there were 3 servers on, and it's not a huge restaurant, so there really wasn't any excuse for our poor service. We would certainly recommend Boath House and we'll hopefully return but would book to stay in the house as that clicking boiler has put me off staying in the adorable studio again.

We visited for a special Saturday lunch with friends . Husband and I have been before and enjoyed the food and surroundings so recommended Boath to our friends . Sadly something was not right when we were there on Saturday. Booked on line and answered the question re food allergies / intolerance . My husband dairy intolerant .It came as a surprise to the restaurant no prep from them .They did adapt dishes but I fear there was dairy somewhere in the food as he has had a bad reaction. Whilst the waiting staff were polite and personable they seem to have little or no training, disappointing for such an establishment . When we visited in July everything was in order, not now unfortunately On the plus side my meal was delicious and the ambiance in the garden was just magical. Invest in training Boat House .
