Luxury family hotel well located for exploring the Cinque Terre. Knowledgeable and attentive staff, exceptional breakfasts with locally sourced ingredients. Eating dinner on the terrace in the evenings was a highlight. Pool immaculate. Lots of stunning walks on doorstep.

Sadly our visit seems to have been quite different to most reviewers. The fabric of the hotel and its position is lovely. Plus the female staff who served breakfast were lovely and friendly. Sadly none of the management / front desk staff were. We were not with InnTravel, but had booked directly with the hotel. At one stage we asked if they had a walking trail map, only to be greeted by puzzlement as to what a walking map was ! Another time we enquired about train problems for our final day, as there had been strikes / work on the line all week. The receptionist expressed amazement at this request ! Yes, there is a handy lift by the station to get to the hotel, but no - one bothered to tell us this in a pre arrival email. Another delightful British couple in their 80s were also experiencing these issues on a daily basis. And then when we did leave, having paid the bill ( all money going to the hotel, none to InnTravel or a booking company ), they did not even look up to say goodbye as we left or ask about our stay…. Small things maybe but not what you expect from a small family hotel.

Perfect location super close to station - perfect for exploring Ligurian and the Cinque Terre. Lovely rooms, fantastic staff, great breakfast and really nice relaxing areas: - lounge, bar and pool. The staff were all super friendly and helpful with hiking ideas, trying out local drinks and kept the bistro/restaurant open for us late on our first day arrival. If we come back to this part of the world will definitely stay here again - thoroughly recommend.

Great hotel in a perfect location. The room was lovely, breakfast was excellent and staff in this boutique hotel were friendly and knowledgeable. Very easy access to the station meant visiting the Cinque Terre, Genoa, Sestri Levante, La Spezia and beyond is quick, easy and inexpensive. We spent a week hiking in the area and loved everything. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was almost empty when we stayed, and as a result was very tranquil. The staff were helpful, and the room was comfortable; we ate in Orto one evening, which lived up to expectations. Breakfast was also good, although there were several items expensively priced as additional (such as a second coffee) which we would have expected to be included in the standard price.

The best and certainly most comfortable Italian hotel I have ever stayed in! First off, the rooms are decorated individually in a fun, quirky way with an interesting mixture of antiques and contemporary soft furnishings. The bed was so comfortable, it was a pleasure to fall into at the end of a long day of hiking, sight-seeing or swimming. The en-suites are very good with excellent water pressure and a nice lightly scented selection of shampoos, body wash, soap and hand/body creme. The food is excellent here. Even the breakfasts are amazing. So nice to not face another boring British Fry-up. Everything is healthily portion-controlled and tastes divine. The weather was accommodating so I was able to take in breakfast in the gardens, what a way to wake up gently. The cappuccino and the staff are both excellent. I had my family who was staying elsewhere in town in for dinner at the Bistro one night and it was heaven. The food was gorgeous and the best we had the entire trip, they all enjoyed sitting in the garden drinking wine and sharing dessert and entrees. The convenience to the town and the train station goes without saying. I loved walking down the back path overlooking the church to meet up with my family. The pool was an excellent temperature and so clean, just like the rest of the hotel. Francesca and her family do a super job and I look forward to returning. Just go, you won't regret it.

We loved the welcome and help given by everyone in the hotel. The rooms are a bit small but absolutely clean, smart and comfortable. Breakfast is well provided and served. If you’re not sure about anything then ask as the staff are very keen to make you happy. We would have liked a better more varied lunch menu as it’s more like a dinner menu and changes to the dinner menu through the week as it’s limited. Also the ability to make tea and coffee in the lounge would be a real plus as the rooms are too small to have facilities to make drinks. Perhaps it’s not normal in Italy to provide in room facilities but I’ve stayed in similar properties in Spain where they have a machine in the lounge. All in all a lovely location for hiking and visiting the area. Nobody really mentioned the trains and noise as all the hotels and villages in the cinque terre have to live with it. You get used to it and as we used the trains every day I can’t complain just expect it. Thanks Villa Edera for a great and memorable holiday.

Such a gem of a hotel! the loveliest staff and fabulous food, as well as a fabulous location and beautiful grounds. We loved our stay here which was a perfect location. close enough to Cinque Terra but far enough away from the crowds!

This is a brilliant example of how a family run hotel should function. The owner, her daughter or other staff were always available to help and advise about places to see and how to get there. All the staff were friendly and able to speak good English as well as tolerate my terrible Italian. Eating at the hotel bistro was good but there are also good places in Moneglia - a 10 minute stroll downhill. Coming back can be made easier by the hotel’s own elevator from the train station (half way to town) up to the hotel garden gate. There is a Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel separate from the hotel’s bistro. We dined there once - the tasting menu was ok but IMO not worth the Michelin inflated price - the cost of 3 very good bistro meals. Come here if you want a relaxing holiday in a family run hotel with friendly service and great ambience. Don’t come if you prefer a massive 5 star chain hotel. We stayed in the Garden Suite which was well worth the extra cost. We will return.
