Gava Waterman Milna Resort – All Inclusive

everything was fine with the accommodation, getting out of the island was a bit difficult

I recently stayed at Gava Milna for a week, all inclusive, and had a fabulous time! The resort is absolutely beautiful, and the staff were friendly, and attentive. I wish there had have been more drinks choice, but other than this I can’t fault my stay. A gorgeous place to holiday!

The Animation were so cool and they were nice to us since the first evening. The food is great but I wish it will get a little bit different in the future. The pools are also cool. The Apar**ents are very nice and beautiful👍🏽. The drinks at the bar ar also very good and my friend silvere have the best ice you ever seen. This Hotel is masterclass for this Price!

First of all I should start this review by stating that we have never done all inclusive before - and don’t wish to do so again - but this should not reflect on the overall experience at this all inclusive resort just because we prefer a different holiday type. Although we’d thoroughly done our research, and the journey and transfer couldn’t have run smoother (well done Jet2), the 12 hour door to door travelling time would put us off doing another island with ferry crossing. We arrived only a few days after the opening of the The Gava Waterman Milna resort for the new season and found everything clean, tidy and as described on the website. As others have stated we were left 'floundering' a bit as to where our room was after our long tiring journey as you’re just given your key without even the vaguest of directions to your room. We weren’t entirely sure what our deluxe double room would be like, or where it would be situated on the complex, but found it to be what I can only describe as a chalet/portacabin (think posh Butlins!). It was perfectly adequate and had a super large comfy bed and pillows and a nice large modern shower room. We do prefer a high floor room so being on the ground floor with no views was a bit disappointing as we thought we might be in the larger building that has higher floors. It is situated in the most scenic of bays, but even that can be frustrating as we thought we’d be able to access more coastal walks than we actually could, as we kept coming across dead ends and private notices along tracks we thought we’d be able to access looking at Google maps, so we sort of ran out of places to walk to with staying for two weeks. Please note there is no actual beach access at all… just rocks. The walk to Milna is easily doable though for anyone with average fitness (we are 67 &71 and managed it okay). The first few days we were disappointed with the food choice, but I must admit it did improve a bit as the days went by - maybe full supplies hadn’t been delivered and the chefs still finding their feet a bit! We didn’t care for the alcoholic drinks either, so I only had three beers in two weeks, and as we didn’t partake of the lunch a few hours after breakfast the all inclusive aspect was entirely wasted on us - good job the ice cream was lush! You may well wonder why we booked all inclusive if it’s not 'our thing' but it was actually cheaper than our last two weeks half board in Majorca so we thought we’d give it a whirl. The staff were all very efficient from our lovely maid who hung around waiting to clean our room from 7.30am every morning to our ‘happy girl' Adrijana in the restaurant who was absolutely charming. The two main pools were lovely, especially when the heated outdoor pool had got up to temperature over a few days - it was like swimming in a lukewarm bath. I agree with Hornseagirl, food was dreadful, drinks served in green plastic tumblers, dreadful all inclusive drinks, very expensive to get off resort, 8 euros there and back curtesy bus shuttle, 12 euro each way private taxi. Rough rocky area not really beach, rough narrow road with no pavement to get to Milna or walk through pine forest ,easy to get lost . 20 euros for beach towel with 5 euro refund when returned. If you are happy laying on a subbed by the pool or more active water activities at your own risk, the resort is great. Poor quality buffet style food with cheap spirits, wine beer and juices, very basic selection of fruit , definitely not 4 star ! No tea or coffee facilities

We spent a week at the resort and enjoyed it very very much. The food from the buffet was great, including the BBQ event on Thursday! We mostly spent our time in the sun by the pool with nice drinks. The entertainment team really made our days special. The aquarobics, quiz night and bingo were my favorites.

Review Gava Waterman Cottages - VERY scenic, calm, modern, serene resort....and clean. Perfect if looking for a quiet resort to relax. Forest cottages - excellent, clean, stylish, spacious, modern, large, fridge, large shower. No tea/coffee. Swimming pools - people reserve sunbeds, looks clean, not been in them. Can't get near the heated outdoor pool, as reserved sunbeds. Indoor pool - not been in yet. Towels...bring your own or you have to pay. Safe - have to pay. Internet - free. Restaurant - absolutely lovely.  I am pescaterian.  Noticed that if you go in for meals later, they run out of white fish and put in baked mackerel instead....they substituted mash for chips the other night. Queues can build up (and this is only beginning of May). Otherwise very tasty and fresh. Pizza restaurant - CLOSED Snack table...open by bar...pizza and quasidillas. Afternoon. Bar - only one with one nice barman. Cocktails are from 4pm to 10pm. No juices. No real coke. Other bar - only has water and ice cream.  It's a Mr Whippy ice cream machine, soooooo very tasty. Activities - stretch at 10, mini golf at 10.30, archery at 4, bocce at 5.  No other day activities. Looks new facilities. Evening entertainment is bingo for half hour OR a music quiz.  Starts at 9pm. Taxi to Milna - 2 euros each way, per person.  I recommend this option. Tours - 2 tours mentioned - island tour (very good 65 euros each), boat tour (too expensive). Staff - very friendly and helpful. Would suit people looking for a quiet, relaxed, beautiful resort.

Gava Waterman is one of the most amazing places i have ever seen. Idyllic location. A forest setting,right by the sea. The accommodation was perfect,among the trees with a sea view. The staff were great. Very attentive and nothing was ever a problem. After reading reviews about the food,we were surprised at the wide range of dishes at every mealtime. There was always plenty and it was very good quality. The bars didnt hold back on the alcohol especially in the cocktails,which were always perfectly made. To top the whole experience,was the sea activities. Adult inflatables,paddle boards,etc,all supplied at no extra charge. There are also 3 pools. 1 for children,the other 2 for anyone to use. The infinity pool had amazing views over the bay and out to the other islands over the sea. On our visit, we saw bats, praying mantis, newts and plenty of fish in the crystal clear sea. Would i return to Gava Waterman? 100% YES. It is the perfect place to relax and get away from it all.

Just come back from a 2 week break at this wonderful resort. We enjoyed every moment, right from the beautiful setting to the fantastic and helpful team, every single one…so polite and friendly. The food was great.. yes, it is buffet style and can not always be piping hot plus can be repetitive, but always lots of choice so you don’t have the same each day. This is standard in any all inclusive and we struggle to understand some peoples’ complaints, judging on what we witnessed breakfast, lunch, dinner and not forgetting the snack bar mid afternoon… people certainly love the food here from what we saw with plates filled high! Drinks a little hit and miss, love the self service beer and wine but please maybe make the wine a little colder as warm wine is not nice!! We came here as a couple and enjoyed the peaceful setting, but think if you want something a little more exciting this would not be for you. We do recommend a walk into Milna though… the hotel does a shuttle 3 times a day but it is an easy walk there, turn left outside hotel, right at crossroad and follow it down to the harbour… took us 25 minutes and we walked back too… just a bit of a hill, then straight up.. easy even in flip flops! In summary, as a couple who can manage a few steps and slopes, don’t care for wild entertainment, aren’t fussy eaters but enjoy peace and quiet plus swimming in the sea every day and long walks across the island, this was the most enjoyable and relaxing holiday… not everyone would agree. Recommend you do your research first!
