Could be good, but many things that let it down. 1. Don’t bother staying if you want a hotel with a bar that’s open past 9.30. Stayed here with my family this last week and wanted a hotel with an onsite bar so that we could take a few drinks up to have on the balcony once our toddler was in bed. Several occasions during our stay after putting him to bed, despite the bar saying closed at X time, it was closed at 20+ minutes early with no prior warning, thus leaving us stuck in the room with no drinks and going to bed at 9.30/10. Not exactly a fun or relaxing way to spend those precious child free hours after running around after a toddler all day. Had I known they would keep closing early I would have stocked the fridge with some drinks, but every time it happened I hoped it would be the last. The reception staff don’t care either and say there is ‘nothing they can do’ when in fact there are plenty of things they can do such as a) telling residents if the opening times are different to what’s been advertised b) not closing randomly just because they feel like it? 2. People entering your room whilst you sleep. On our first day whilst the baby and I slept in the room, I could hear footsteps walking around in the lounge area. I assumed it was my husband and continued to sleep. When I woke up, the main door to the room was wide open and it turned out that no, my husband had been elsewhere with other family members! Reception advised they think it was housekeeping, but why they would 1. Not ring the doorbell if that was the case and 2. leave the door open when they left doesn’t sit right with me. Reception gave a free safe key, but for the rest of the trip I placed various objects to barricade the door to try and feel a bit safer and felt on edge the whole time. 3. Some apartments have ovens, some don’t. But a full size dishwasher? Our apartment had a microwave, hob, fridge, washing machine and a dishwasher but not an oven however other family members had apartments with an oven. So something to be aware of, if that’s something you need. We didn’t use the dishwasher at all during our stay as there are limitations to what you can cook when having only a hob. 4. Workman on your balcony first thing in the morning. On one morning without any prior warning, I opened the curtains in very limited clothing to find a workman hanging over the balcony painting the render, which as you can imagine was a real shock and pretty embarrassing. He stayed there for approx 1 hour painting, and whilst it’s great that they’re up keeping the hotel, it wouldn’t have taken much to say oh by the way you may see some workmen on your balcony tomorrow morning? We had originally planned a family breakfast on the balcony for that morning but we’re unable to do so due to the work going on. 5. Pool area does not open until 11am and the water is freezing cold due to being in the shade. I wouldn’t recommend the pool area if you want to make the most of your day. Waiting aro
