It was the official residence of the fourth rank official built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. It was designed by the prefect of Tingzhou at the time. It has a courtyard structure and claims to be the most magnificent building in the earth building [laughing]. The boss Awen was very enthusiastic. He made tea for us, talked about the history of his family, and introduced how to play the Tulou. I am especially grateful to him for recommending the Chuxi Tulou.
