Staying in a Tulou, even though the facilities were a bit basic, offered a truly unique experience. It's definitely recommended.

An unforgettable experience; staying in a Tulou was incredibly special. The host was incredibly welcoming and even gave us helpful tips for our trip! The Tulou itself was meticulously maintained. The room was great and very comfortable. Although our room didn't have an en-suite bathroom, we had convenient access to one in another room. Stepping out, we were greeted with beautiful views of the Tulou's courtyard and the sky. At night, once the Tulou closed to visitors, it became incredibly quiet. The red lanterns were still lit, creating a truly captivating atmosphere. It was also very convenient that we could freely visit the nearby Chengqi Building at night.

What an amazing experience! It was so cool to actually stay inside a Tulou. I was lucky that my room even had an en-suite bathroom! The owner was incredibly kind; they waited up for me despite my very late check-in. Since I specifically traveled all the way from Taiwan, the owner thoughtfully lit up the beautiful red lanterns for me, which looked absolutely stunning in photos! They also helped me take pictures and booked my bus ticket down the mountain. They truly go above and beyond to care for their guests! A huge thank you to the owner! I had such a wonderful time. If I get the chance, I'll definitely bring my family and friends to visit again!

The quilt was simply too thin. There was no AC or electric blanket, and drafts seeped through the wooden structure, leaving me absolutely frozen on a 5°C night. I had already braced myself for basic living conditions when choosing to stay in a Tulou, so the twin room having a private bathroom was a pleasant surprise and well beyond my expectations. That said, they really need to provide much thicker blankets, especially during winter and early spring, or guests will be freezing to death.
