The hotel was nice. We arrived on a Friday evening when there was a huge event taking place at the house. Check-in was quick and easy. Rooms were clean just a bit warm. Fortunately, we had a fan in the room. Beds were very comfy. Dinner at the restaurant was ok, nothing fancy but fine for the price. However, staff is in dire need of training. Not one single waitress/waiter was able to smile. They spoke very fast and slurred and we had to wave them to come back for further orders. When we ordered the bill, something went wrong with the card and they just walked away, mumbling something we could not understand. After 10 minutes they still did not get back to us so we had to catch them at the bar in order to clarify what happened. Turned out the card was declined and they did not make any efforts in letting us know. Which left us with a very strange feeling. Breakfast was the same, staff was not able to smile or at least look friendly. It all felt like it was a shame that they had to work. Not sure what the reason is for that as they treated all guests the same way. The next morning we were sitting in the breakfast area with the sun blinding us so we asked them to pull down the blinds but they told us they were just facade. Breakfast buffet was very poor: Kellogs cereal bags (the small ones) 3 bananas, 2 old apples and some grapes.

I had my wedding dinner and reception in the lodge function room and I cannot thank the staff enough for being so accommodating. The whole night went so smoothly apart from one little hiccup when my child hurt his head and the staff ran to the rescue, something else I cannot thank them enough for. The food had raving reviews from my guests and the buffet was delicious, the drinks had raving reviews also and a few of my guests said they've never met such accommodating staff. Overall, a fabulous place for a fabulous night with great food and amazing staff. We also had family and friends stay in the hotel, beds are very comfortable, rooms are very clean and fresh, such a pleasant place to stay! To Ashley and Karensa, I cannot thank you enough for all the help you gave me to help make my night stress free, you girls are absolutely amazing! From the outsid it looks pretty ordninary. And it is a bit dated and deflected inside. However it has an old world charm if you like that style the rooms are big and spacious

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for a few nights on our visit to Edinburgh. We were very delighted with the room we had, it was nice and clean. The bar staff and the staff who welcomed us were also very pleasant. It’s a great addition to have the swimming pool, but it desperately needs updating and more frequent cleaning. We enjoyed our swims, but the area where the sun beds are is carpet, and on the carpet there were things like toenail clippings and it was generally not very clean (each time we visited the pool). The changing rooms could do with an update too but I wasn’t too fussed as you don’t spend a long time in there. For the price, I thought the stay was perfectly reasonable and we overall had a great time at the Leonardo Murrayfield.

Absolutely brilliant hotel to stay in at Edinburgh Airport. Super close to the airport and to the tram for going through to Edinburgh city centre. Service was amazing and the cocktails were a brilliant start to our holiday!
