I found this place while looking for a place to stay.
First of all, I liked the location because it was in the middle of wherever I was going, and it was close to the tram to Belem district and tram number 28.
Also the staff is very friendly!!! I hope everyone goes here because of this part.
The room was clean, of course, and although it was a bit small, it covered everything else.
The breakfast is also delicious, so I recommend trying it.
Once a 17th century convent, Locke de Santa Joana has a rich, distinctive history. From preserved interior details to artifacts displayed in the cultural gallery, our Lisbon hotel unites the past and present. A playful style flows throughout 370 serviced apartments, many with their own kitchen.
Vibrant coworking spaces, meeting rooms, and plenty of restaurants and bars mean you won't need to leave. And the sunkissed courtyard and outdoor pool mean you won't want to either. Luxury, yet affordable. Homely, yet indulgent. Ideally located near Avenida de Liberdade.

Interior of this hotel was amazing including outside pool area! Staffs were helpful and the hotel was located close to the metro. Only things were that the mattress and pillows was too soft for me so i did woke up with back and neck pain. I wish they provided free water bottles in the fridge but otherwise, everything was incredible!

The pros: -very close to metro station. - it was clean - I liked the friendliness of the staff - 24/7 reception - kettle, coffee maker in the room - the bed was comfortable and although the room was small i had everything needed The cons: -extremely thin walls, you could hear your neighbours conversations and peeing. -the room had a small window that I couldn't open and the view was on the corridor so you have to keep in blocked by curtains to avoid people looking at you. Which means, no natural light all stay - before my visit, I asked if the hotel if they can provide gluten free bread for breakfast, as I'm gluten intolerant, and they replied no. - the decor is cheap looking, this hotel pretend to be more fancy than it is in reality - shower doors didn't close properly, so every shower left me with flooding

My overall experience was good but the only downside for me is the location. It needs a long walk, around 20-30 mins, to get to the main city area. I had to get a taxi or Bolt to return hotel every night.
The room was clean with a large king size bed. The room size is reasonable. We were on the first floor facing the street, it was quite at night. Slippers were provided on request. The staffs were very polite and friendly. There were no problem in communication in English. They also suggested a lots restaurants and attractions for us to consider.
The lobby is spacious with a TV and also lots of seating area. There was a small gym room in the basement.
We had a comfortable and great stay with Lumen Hotel.

The staff and service are great. The employees are very polite and helpful. However, the decor of the hotel leaves something to be desired. The ambiance and rooms are very dark. Despite their large size, they make you feel like you are in a prison rather than a room.

As it is said in the other comments, the rooms are very badly soundproofed... We were given a room on the street side, with a window that did not close properly, and as a result we slept very badly! We decided to leave after the first night, as there was only one room left that we did not want. After having had the MANAGER on the phone, we were told that we would be reimbursed (over 200€). Strangely my card was not working for the refund, ok, and that it was not possible in cash. We were then told that we would receive a transfer within 1 to 2 weeks... I have been waiting for 2 MONTHS! I have had no answer to my emails and on the phone, I'm clearly being pushed around. It's unacceptable, I work at the reception of a hotel in France, we refund our customers! ESPECIALLY when they promise us!!!!!! It's not only unprofessional but also dishonest.

Hotel staffs are friendly, kind and helpful. Really enjoyed their breakfast. The location is not too convenient for touristing but I chose here because it was close to Sete Rios bus terminal. It’s about 13-15 minutes walk.

Absolutely fantastic stay at Martinhal Lisboa Oriente. We booked a studio at this aparhotel for 4 nights. Spacious n clean. WiFi works steady. Breakfast is included with a very good selection of fruits, bread, cereal n hot items. Customer service is good here too.
It is abt 1 km to one of the train stations in Lisboa, which is Oriente station. As such, it is very convenient for us to take the train to Sintra n Porto. However, it is a bit farther away from Alfama n Baixa n all the other interesting neighborhoods with shops n restaurants n cafes. May be 8-9 kms or 10 euros Uber drive away??
All in all, Martinhal is still highly recommended. I wld not hesitate to stay here again were I visit Lisbon next time.

After reading the negative reviews, I decided it was worth reporting on our stay here. We were attending Web Summit at the Altice Arena and chose the VIP Executive Art's (sic) because it was a short walk from one end of the venue. Our room faced the street and was pretty spacious and comfortable, with no noise issues whatsoever; our only complaint was that the mini-fridge didn't work. We enjoyed the breakfast included with our rate, which was quite tasty and offered dozens of items, including interesting ones such as coconut brioche. The staff and elevators were fine, and we ate at two restaurants in the next block and enjoyed them both. And getting back to the airport by walking to Oriente station was very easy. Side note: I'm a comics fan and was startled and pleased that our room had a view of the giant superhero mural outside the hotel. If you're visiting Lisbon as a tourist, you'd do better to stay in a quainter and more atmospheric part of town. But for our needs, we were pleased with the experience we got at this hotel.

Booked this hotel after calling their central reservations office . I told them quiet was my main priority . After assurances from them I cancelled my other reservation in Lisbon . What a mistake ! Paid 790 euro for a family room. Rooms are no better than a holiday inn. My daughter’s room was dirty on check in . Cut nails on the floor , mould in the shower and hair in the sink . Old, tatty and stained bed bases . The common areas were so noisy with business guests . The hotel is attached to a big conference facility . Service was very good but I have no idea why this hotel gets such good ratings . Perhaps because most of the guests are not paying themselves and are getting corporate rates . I felt completely ripped off . The central reservation was not completely honest about the hotel. I spoke to the reception and the GM in the end . They waived my charge for one beer ….. the best they could do . What an insult . Not stated in any “5” star hotel that has mould in the shower . No attention to detail. Don’t stay here if you are on holiday. There’s much better choices in Lisbon .

Excellent
GGuest UserI booked twice to stay at this hotel because I wasn't allowed to modify my booking, even though my second booking meant my husband and I would stay longer at the hotel. My first booking was for November 29 to December 4, and because flights to Lisbon were much cheaper on November 26th than November 28th, I decided to take the earlier flight and therefore enjoy Lisbon a bit longer.
I was disappointed in the inconvenience of having to book a different room instead of being allowed to stay in the same room, not to mention the hassle of having to pack and unpack our stuff when we transferred rooms from the 12th floor to the 13th floor. But fortunately, our second room was much nicer than the first, even though the first one was slightly more expensive because it had a view of the river. The second room was newly decorated with tasteful interior design in blue, white, and gray, while the first had a tacky red padded leatherette headboard wall.
Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. The wheelchair they lent us during our stay was new and sturdy, the breakfast food was decent, and the folks were friendly. The location was excellent, right next to the gorgeous train and bus station by Santiago Calatrava, a huge mall, and walking distance from the Expo area, the Fiera Internacional Lisboa, and two excellent restaurants - Honest Greens (best hummus we ever tasted, grilled veggies and salmon) and Butchers (grilled ribeye and lovely staff).
AAndreI would book again but a bigger room. The installed not fully closing glass door to the bathroom/toilet will never be my favorite.
The reception is service oriented and welcoming. The cleaning staff should be instructed to communicate without yelling at 9.30am.
Location good. No view, but this is always an issue with small hotels in city center.
I would have expected more CR7 fan articles.
VVincenzaThe room is large with 2 large and comfortable beds next to each other, the bathroom with shower is spacious with soft and large towels provided.
The general cleanliness is very good, they changed our towels every day even though we didn't ask for it (a choice that I think is not very eco-friendly)
There are some cafes nearby (we didn't include breakfast) and restaurants, the bus stop to the center is just a few steps away.
The center can also be reached on foot with a walk of about 15 minutes.
The Hotel has a covered parking lot at a cost of €19.00 per day, absolutely essential if you arrive by car since there are no other parking lots nearby.
GGuest UserVery large 1 bedroom apartment. Renovated and clean. Very close to everything the area offers. Things to be aware - address given was wrong. We ended up ringing a private home. They said that this has happened repeatedly, so it was not our fault 😅 - the building is next to tram 28. There are two stops, one each direction, one on uphill direction and one in downhill direction. Trams going in both directions can be heard from bedroom loudly. But, downhill going tram makes an extremely loud noise when it breaks for the tram stop (metal on metal screeching noise) Things can be improved - they did not unload the dishwasher from previous people, expecting that we did that. - shower head did not stay steady and slid all the down in about 10 seconds. Continuous battle with pulling it up. - there is shampoo and bath gel, although quality was pretty bad. But, no wash cloth for the gel. You may want to bring it or you may spend a lot of time to find one to buy. - although kitchen had dishes, glasses, pots, etc. It was not stocked with basics like tower, napkin, spices, etc. I would have expected better from a short term rental.
AAnonymous UserBe careful with this hotel, in which service and facilities are wildly variable.
For our last night, one bath towel is missing for a room of double occupancy - a schoolboy error as they would call it - and when we requested the second one, the receptionist acted as if he were doing us a big favour. Then, on our last day, neither of our two room cards worked when we returned to the room 30 min before check out time - and because of receptionist shortage, it took us a good 15 min to get a replacement card - not a good thing for a hotel that brands itself for being chic and high tech.
The room controller, which is run by the TV system, as well as the lighting panel, are as dysfunctional as they get - one would have thought it should be a very simple thing to raise or lower the temperature through a quick flip of a switch, or a simple touch on dial. Instead, it is waiting for the TV to warm up, entering the room control panel, blah blah blah.
Note also a double bed at this hotel means two single beds slapped together. Not great if you have no wish to sleep atop a trench.
Our last night happens to be on a Friday, and the lobby practically turned into a dance floor with loud and cheap beats that went all the way to almost midnight and heard even on the highest floors.
No problem for being chic, but being chic is very different from being dysfunctional and uncomfy. A shame, as the location is excellent, some of the staff were nice and helpful, and some of the decor are clever.
OohohcrThe room is really nice... it's clean and tidy and it's like an apartment. It has tableware, a hot water kettle, and even pots and pans... you can cook! But if you are a girl, I don’t recommend booking this place! First of all, the location is in an alley next to the square. When you get out of the subway entrance, you have to carry a suitcase and climb a lot of steps. Even though some of the corners are really dark and emm... the smell of urine... there is no front desk, only a machine for self-service check-in. , don’t book if you can’t speak English at all! !
GGuest UserI am deeply dissatisfied with the online booking service offered by Zenhotels. I made a reservation for what I thought would be a private room with 2 pets allowed and made a payment of 97 euros, which according to the booking confirmation received, was the total amount for the reservation. I was supposed to only pay 6 euros for the tourist tax and 10 euros per pet for the entire stay. Upon arrival at the hotel (WOT Lisbon Nomad), I was informed that the reservation I had made did not correspond to a private room and that in order to get one, I would have to pay an additional 234.51 euros on top of the already paid 97 euros (this would be for the upgrade to a private room + 10 euros per day per pet). Obviously, this news at the time of check-in and with such a price difference (more than three times the original value) makes it almost impossible for the customer to seek an alternative. Furthermore, I tried to explain to the hotel that the website was not very clear about private or shared rooms, as the room description did not indicate that it was shared. Additionally, it did not mention that the payment for the pets was per day rather than for the entire stay. The person responded that if the website did not have complete information, it was not the hotel's problem. I countered that if they were selling their services through third parties, they are just as responsible as the website promoting them to ensure that the information is accurate; otherwise, they are complicit in a scheme to deceive customers. Finally, I decided not to proceed with the proposal because I found it disrespectful, an excessive charge compared to the original offer, and unprofessional. Therefore, I feel that I was cheated out of the 97 euros that I paid and that I could not use the offered service.
GGuest UserI really enjoyed our staying in lisbon apartment. The best thing:There is no reception, you have entrance code to come inside building and room. The room is super super clean. The cleaning service and virtual reception was really good and fast. For us everything was enough beacause we spent all our time to visit lisbon and around.Hotel is near the airport and 15 min driving to the centro. We had our car, there is parking space around but you have to pay.At keast I will choose this brand again to visit lisbon.
Wasmachine, vaatwasser, magnetron, broodrooster etc. De appartementen liggen niet minden in het centrum en in het mooiste gedeelte van Lissabon maar met de taxi, uber of het OV ben je zo overal. Wij hebben hier een goed verblijf gehad.
Checked in quite late (around 11pm) - the studios need a key card to open the door which we didn't have - you need to cross the road and go right to the to the LX SOHO (a few doors down) to get a key card from reception. First night we were in 405 which was a little small and had an IKEA sofabed .... next day we were able to switch to 404 which had a nice double bed and a little more space. The apartments are very handy for the walk into town - thoroughly recommended.
