I looked at all the BWI airport hotels carefully before booking, and decided that the Westin was probably the best. Now having stayed there I'm pretty sure I was right.

The place is clean and modern, with a spacious lobby and updated design in the rooms. The blackout curtains are some of the best I've ever seen: I woke up at 8:30am convinced it was still the middle of the night. The bathroom has a great shower, was clean and fully stocked with towels. Really everything I could have asked for.

The swimming pool was closed. Only hot water was available on the first night. I changed the room. I had to ask for everything before I could get it. Even the bathrobe was not provided.

The room is average and there is no service. The airport hotel has a shuttle bus to the airport which is convenient. The Baltimore Airport area is generally unsafe, so it is best not to stay near the airport.

After bad flight delays I had an unplanned stay at the Westin. Staff was very friendly and after hearing about my travel adventures the night front desk lady gave me a breakfast voucher. The room was clean and modern with all the necessary amenities. The only thing I did not like were the shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower. Environmentally friendly or not, I like the individual little bottles. These big dispensers can become a microbiological problem, and one was broken anyway. Breakfast service was reasonably fast and very friendly and the breakfast was unspectacular.

My second stay and the front desk staff is great. Also the shuttle drivers have been excellent. Today it was Francisco and he took great care to get us safely to the airport and with all the correct bags. I will be returning at the end of the month and look forward to another good experience.
