We have recently returned from this hotel as a couple with an eight year old daughter. This is four star hotel, which would only have to do a few things to get a five star rating, however there were a few quirks/issues which let it down. I shall start with the negatives first as there is also plenty to celebrate. 1) The shower in the room was absolutely freezing 5/7 days. I do mean freezing, not lukewarm. We did complain, however, they said that it was due to everyone using the shower at the same time. Also, the shower screen was fixed meaning that you have to step fully in to the bath tub before being able to turn the shower on. This was dangerous and led to me slipping and hurting myself on one occasion. They also sent a survey round mid-holiday where I also mentioned the cold showers, however, this was never acknowledged. 2) We could not use the bath as a bath as the plug was broken. Also mentioned in the survey but never acknowledged. 3) Advertised that there were robes provided. They were not. 4) No toilets in the lobby area at all. When in the lobby (as on one occasion when the entertainment had to be held inside due to the rain), you have to go down one floor to use the toilets in the pool area, of which there were only three, which is not enough for the whole hotel to use. It is a strange quirk, when does a hotel not have toilets in the lobby? 5) As everyone else says, very much like the toilets, there are not enough sunbeds for all of the guests to use around the pool. There are more at the beach, but they are pretty uncomfortable. 6) The pool area did flood on one occasion which wasn't particularly pleasant to walk through. On the positive side, the surroundings and the beach are beautiful. We used three of the A la carte restaurants on site, our favourite being the Asia Olivia, where the food was stunning. The staff are amazing, polite and helpful, but there are not enough of them, particularly by the pool, with one hardworking lad constantly back and forth taking orders. Entertainment was a mixed bag, but on the whole we enjoyed it. The buffet food was good, but on occasion it was a bit on the cold side. My daughter loved the Patisserie that was opened from 2pm every day in the lobby and utilised the ice cream parlour by the beach plenty of times! There is a well stocked shop onsite which we did use. We used the slightly heated indoor pool and my husband used the gym on rainy days. It was nice to have these options available. I would describe the hotel as good, but it could be very good if they listened to the feedback, some of which is clearly consistent. All in all, we had a lovely holiday and on balance, the pro's outweighed the cons and if the sorted the bath/shower situation out, we would likely return in the future.
