This triple bed bedroom is facing the road, location is near the city. Very lucky to get to park right in front of the hotel at the road side parking. It's free until 8:30am

Location: Very conveniently located right across a couple of bus stops and also a few steps away from Ocean Terminal tram stop. The Oean Terminal has a few well known brand outlets which we did not visit but if you have nothing else to do, it could be a nice way to spend your time. Also the Royal Britannia Yacht is right there. Cleanliness and facilities: just as expected from IHG, very clean and also the facilities that we wanted: luggage storage, a simple bar/ restaurant and hot breakfast. Nothing extraordinary but absolutely essential. Note: scrambled eggs could be better. Service: OK, as expected. We had already sent a note saying we were going to arrive between 1 AM and 1:30 AM, and when we came to the reception around 1:15 AM, they promptly delivered the keys and on the inside of the card was written ”no show”. Which means the reception doing the night shift never saw our note and had already marked us as possible ”no show”. It did not hurt us, but I did not like the fact they never read our note, it shows the impersonal nature of their service. Therefore I deducted one star. Note: The cranberry tea is a nice selection. It helped my headache. Thanks.

Edinburgh 4Friends House is a wonderful accommodation with everything: location, atmosphere, and service. Located in the city center, it is conveniently located within walking distance of tourist attractions such as Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. The rooms and common areas are clean, and the calming interior will soothe your travel fatigue. The owner and staff were very kind, and the sightseeing advice and warm hospitality were impressive. In addition, the kitchen facilities are well-equipped, so it is recommended for long-term stays and those who like to cook their own meals. You can sleep soundly in a quiet environment, and the affordable price makes it excellent value for money. It is a very satisfying place to stay when visiting Edinburgh!

I was a little concerned that the bathroom was a little dirty, but the bedding and other amenities were very clean. The stairs are a little steep, so it may be a little difficult if you have a large suitcase. However, it is excellent value for money and is close to a tram stop, so I highly recommend it.

It is just near the Spain Visa Centre. Everything is great. The room space is very big. But the bad thing is that at that night, the fire alarm was tripped multiple times at 4:00am and also went off three times after that which made people very insecure.

The hotel's self-check-in was very convenient. The triple room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable. However, the soundproofing in the room wasn't great; I could hear footsteps from the floor above. For a one-night stay while getting a visa nearby, it was still good value for money.

It's the perfect way to start the day if you want to enjoy a bit of sunshine. The location is also a major plus. It’s just a short walk to the city center, making it easy to explore, and for those who prefer not to walk, a quick 5-minute bus ride will take you wherever you need to go. The lounge area at the hotel is another highlight. It’s spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with blankets to keep guests comfortable if the temperature drops. It provided the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. The combination of comfort, thoughtful service, and a prime location makes it a top choice. We will definitely be staying here again when we return!

This was my first time bringing my mom back to Edinburgh since graduation, and this hotel was always on my wish list when I was a student. The room offered a view of Calton Hill, and I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. It would have been even better if the room was on a higher floor. Plus, the haggis at the hotel breakfast was delicious, even better than the one at Haggis Box!

Definitely worth the slight awkwardness of crawling into capsule-pod from foot end for greater privacy (curtain, individual light, useful narrow shelf) and quieter night's sleep, and the bathroom has adequate facilities – toilet, two each of basins and well-designed shower cubicles – for up to eight (two four-bed rooms): a bargain in comparison with usual central Edinburgh prices… and, if not using the well-equipped kitchen, the back entrance to a Wetherspoon pub is next door, barely a dozen steps away!

The hotel's location in Edinburgh was a bit out of the way, not being in the city center. Our room was on the lower ground floor, directly beneath the breakfast area. In the mornings, the scraping and movement of chairs from guests having breakfast upstairs created very jarring noises in our room, which was enough to wake us up. Judging by the bathroom facilities, it seemed we were assigned an accessible room.
