An experience full of flaws...
The first is check-in. Originally, the hotel set up a self-service check-in. The password for the lockbox would be sent via email 2 days before departure, and guests could open the box and collect the key themselves upon arrival.
But we still didn't receive the email one day before the booking date. So I asked Ctrip customer service, and the reply they gave was that it was not a self-service check-in, and there would be employees to handle it after arriving at the store. However, when we arrived at the store the next day, there was no one at all... We temporarily asked the cleaning staff and sent an email to the operator ourselves to get the password to open the box. I stood at the door for nearly two hours... Afterwards, Ctrip customer service admitted that they had made a mistake and refunded 200 yuan to settle the matter. Be sure to keep this in mind when booking later.
Next is the hotel itself, evaluate it as objectively as possible.
advantage:
1. Convenient transportation
It is a 15-20 minute walk from Kyoto Station (Hachijo Exit) and is considered the city center. A 3-5 minute walk next to Tofukuji Station on the JR Nara Line and Keihan Electric Railway. These two lines can reach most famous attractions and even go directly to Uji and Nara. There are also many bus stations around, and you can go directly to Kiyomizu Temple.
2. Quiet environment
Although it is in the city center, it is surrounded by purely residential areas, so it is quiet at night and you can have a good rest.
3. The view is acceptable
The hotel is built next to the river. If you book a room with a view, you will have a small balcony. You can stand on the balcony and watch the river flowing downstairs. There are cherry blossom trees on both sides of the bank. It should be more beautiful in spring.
shortcoming:
1. No elevator
The hotel looks like a small three-story house. Although it is not high, it is not easy to climb the third floor if there are too many and heavy luggage.
2. Poor sound insulation
The hotel itself is a wooden building (like most single-family houses in Japan), and the internal walls are poorly soundproofed. If there are many guests, the conversation in the next room can be heard clearly.
3. WIFI garbage
The Internet speed is extremely slow. It can be tolerated during the day, but it is completely unusable at night. If I hadn’t gone to tourist attractions every day to check in and go to bed early at night when I was already tired, the experience would have been even worse.
4. Inconvenience in life
It is surrounded by residents. Not to mention large shopping malls, there are only a few ordinary shops and restaurants. There are only 2 convenience stores, 5-6 restaurants and 1 cafe on the street in front of the station, otherwise you have to walk 15 minutes to reach the business district. It's almost time to arrive at Kyoto Station...
5. Average facilities
Although there is a washing machine, laundry detergent is not provided, so I have to buy it myself. There is nowhere to dry the clothes after washing. There is only a small folding rack, but it is too short to hang large items of clothing. There is no wardrobe in the room, only three clothes hooks on the wall
