We have been in Valamar facilities before with positive experiences and decided to go to another one - the Krk Premium Camping resort. Payment on arrival was odd, but I remember this is not unusual for them. The mobile home was showing the age - the fence on the separate viewing platform was flimsy, also some of the steps on the staircase were not solid. There were ants - lots of them. No dishwasher. Other than that the place was OK and if these were the only negative points, I would give it higher score. The biggest problem for me was substandard service and food quality in their restaurant(s) (if you can call the other place - the aluminium trailer with realy bad tasting fast food a restaurant). The main restaurant - Pizzeria Oliva - was really bad. Food was not something to write home about, the staff was not nice and in general not interested in helping you (I would especially point out the men, the ladies were OK). After a couple of days and with me startng to feel unwell, we decided to first start cooking a couple of days for ourselves - but there is a problem as the camping shop is not stocked very well. We have noticed this earlier when buying ice cream there - very poor selection. I have no idea about the prices in comparison to normal shops, we were not checking. So after a couple of days of cooking for ourselves, we decided to start going eating outside of the camp, fortunately there are a couple of nice towns with nice restaurants out there. There's more to criticize but I'm not going to go into details. We were very happy with the cocktail bar on the beach, people there are very nice, also the beach and facilities on the beach are very nice. Water is very clean, sun beds with the umbrelas are not expensive. Also big thumbs up for the Mini golf, ping pong and table football at the Teens hangout. Staff there was also very nice. All in all, if they would improve the Oliva and preferably add Pasta and Pizza restaurant (and employ LOCAL people), the experience would be light years better. If they would not cut costs on the quality of bed sheets (which were constantly sliding of the matresses) and repair the fencing and stairs on the viewing platform, it would be almost to good. Adding some variety to the icre cream boxes in the shop and on the beach would make a lot of sense, it's hard to see why such narrow range. There are no mobile homes in the first row to the sea. This is a show stopper for me from now on. PS: Please spare me one (out of 2 or 3) of the standard BS company reply in which you say how you are gratefull and are striving to improve. This is pure BS as I see the same answers years back. I'm not interesting to read such things.
