Plus: - Very Kerala property - lush greenery everywhere - welcome drinks, free lagoon boat rides, high tea by the sea - Staff were great - Siva at reception was very attentive (thanks Siva!). others did a good job of taking photos and helping us capture memories - We had 3 rooms: 1 Cottage, 1 Deluxe Seaview; 1 Deluxe Plunge Pool room. if you can splurge, go for the deluxe plunge pool it is worth it! the rooms are large, having a private pool gave the option to jump in and out multiple times without having to traverse the property Minus: - Furniture needs an upgrade - TV not working in one of the rooms - Not great for elderly people - while there are buggy rides to take you around, still there are steps to climb to the rooms and even for breakfast (the alternative being taking the service elevator in a longer route) - Breakfast options were okay comparatively limited to other Taj properties we have been to - filter coffee and tea stand was good but overall very poor service across all days we were there. maybe not enough staff.

It was great stay at Uday Samudra..........Hotel is well maintained with private beach, and nicely decorated rooms. Staff was courteous and very helping, good work of Mr Praveen for room cleaning and also by supervisor Mrs. Nirmala Mary. Thanks for making our trip enjoyable!!!

There is nothing good to write about the hotel except its location. The quality of room needs huge attention by the ***agement. Dirt is easily visible at various corners of the room. It seems as if no one ever pays attention to cleanliness of the rooms. Coming to the room service, it seems no training is provided to the staff! When ordering food for in-room dining, how can your staff bring the Roti or any Indian breads without it being wrapped in aluminum foil or in any container? They serve it without covering it with anything. I have never seen any hotel serve food like this. Coming to the swimming pool timing. The hotel has the worst timing for its swimming pool. One cannot swim after 6pm and before 11am. They expect people to swim when it is scorching hot. People visit resort for leisure, but they do not allow them because of some weird reasons. How do you expect small children to swim when it is so hot? Very disappointed. I raised the complaint to the front desk, but their response was rude and highly disappointing. Talking of the breakfast, it seems they are doing a favor to their clients by providing such kind of menu which has hardly anything to eat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turtle on the beach, the location is excellent, the resort is just a few mins walk away from the kovalam beach, if you have to go places there is ofcourse the hotel cab but there are also tons of cabs and autorickshaws available outside the gate, making your travel hassle free. The best part of the resort is the staff, they are super friendly and very hospitable and accommodating. We wanted to go to Varkala from the resort using public transport and the staff wrote down each and every step in detail from boarding a bus to a train where to get off etc etc, this was super useful as this by far was the fastest way to reach Varkala from Kovalam (even taxi’s will probably take double the time). They also readily accommodated our request for a late checkout, no questions asked! All in all a fantastic stay and special thanks to Rajesh, Srilakshmi, Shiju and Mary for the hospitality provided and making our stay super pleasant

Near kovalam one of the best resort is soma palmshore. This is one of the property of somatheeram group .I book the standard rooms and it was very good room and one of the main thing is their service I really love it and my family also they we get a private beach access and we are safe highly recommend
