Tang Dynasty Park Hotel

City Center Kota Kinabalu|1.2km from Surau Kampung Kopungit
Tang Dynasty Park used to be one of my family favourite hotels in Kota Kinabalu (since I was little). As time goes by, we realized this buliding is getting older yet I don't see any obvious improvement although we came quite often here and lots of construction happening nearby the hotel so let's not include the noise pollution as my reason to give this poor evaluation. Days ago, I booked one night stay at TDP thru bookingbasic.com. Before I reach KK, I call them for confirmation. Everything seems off since then... 1) The receptionist doesn't sounds happy with my call. Oh don't get me wrong, I myself served in hospitality field so I do know what I'm talking about. 2) The room : IS A MESS. I paid RM91 for the room so I won't have any high expectations but as I said earlier, I'm not a first-timer here but this time I feel so sad. The wallpaper......hm. I still can bear that so that's fine. The soap handler is rusty and crooked. The hairdryer hose is not attached to the hairdyer (I don't even have the mood to fix it by myself after seeing that and went straight to the bed lol). The loose sink tap makes me sighed everytime I want to use it. I can see dust on the table clearly. I understand I paid the lowest room rate but how could you let your guest sleep in that kind of unprepared room? At least I would appreciate a kind reminder about the room condition before I went in. Infact, I can get a better room at other place with the same price but I still choose TDP because of the familiarity. My only fault in this case is not directly made a complaint and ask for help that day. My family really loves this place, long time ago. I guess it won't be in the list anymore. (Anyway thank you for the newspaper. I like that part)

Flypod Hotel

Kota Kinabalu|1.24km from Surau Kampung Kopungit
Got to know about this Flypod Hotel with its strategic location 📍 when I was planning my slow Sabah train travel 🚂 It's with 4️⃣mins walking 🚶‍♀️distance to Tanjung Aru railway station 🚉 & 🔟mins car 🚗 ride to the Kota Kinabalu International Airport. This hotel provides airport shuttle with an additional fee, so peace of mind & no worries with it to ensure you arrive at airport on time for your flight departures 👍🏻 It offers luggage storage with an additional fee too. Very convenient if you wish to ride with train without bulky luggage ya 👍🏻 I have stayed in Deluxe King with airport view 🪟 room for 5️⃣ nights, yes ✅, actually longer than I have expected as I really enjoyed the friendliest hospitality here Love the airport view 🪟 from my room as I got to catch the airplanes ✈️🛫 as well as beautiful sunset 🌇 from my room. Hmm...Just that need to bear with the noise from busy road 🛣️ & airplanes 🛫✈️ flown for a light sleeper. Everything absolutely fine for me during my stay, you may opt for higher level is. Level 7 or Level 8 subjects to room availability for a lesser noise from the busy roads then The room is well equipped with all the necessity a traveller needs during a short stay. Love the comfy soft pillow & bed 🛏️ for a good night rest 💤😴 There is a cosy cafe & lounge area at the hotel lobby, it's beautiful when the micro optic lighting is on. I had a good long chat with friend here after checked in on the 1️⃣st day. Then, I enjoyed my cosy afternoon here to write my blog posts & work preparation during my stay It's also with a Flypod Restaurant 🍽️ within walking distance within the Aeropod Commercial Square to enjoy warm hot meals anytime during your stay here Highly recommended as I have opted this as my KK city hotel accommodation. I have engaged their personal driver services to Papar, Membakut & Kundasang. Reasonable price with great 👍🏻 friendly transport services Hope my review here is helpful to all. This is a new building. The location of the building is easy to find, but the hotel is not easy to find. The apartment-style rooms are fully equipped. Very new.

The Golden Hotel in Kota Kinabalu offers a comfortable stay with its clean and spacious rooms. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the hotel's location is convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and amenities. The highlight of the stay is the hotel comes with its own private parking spot. Overall, it's a good choice for budget-conscious travelers looking for a pleasant stay in Kota Kinabalu.”

When we arrived, you have to carry your own luggage. The staff is not really friendly, especially when i ask for the iron and the iron board is not enough, i have to iron the clothes on the bed. The room also not clean, the toilet door is dirty. We had our dinner at souq garden and ordered lamb shank, but the lamb shank is slimy. Luckily the staff there change the food with the new one, and my husband gave it to the security guard, hopefully it is nice to eat. We don't the food want but they insist to change. But the hotel is nice decorated and smell. The breakfast also all good, but the chef put wrong label for the food, pineapple cake but they label with bread pudding and vanilla sauce. Overall is fine if you are not cerewet, but on my opinion me they have to improve so many aspects. Idk, thats why the hotel entitled 3 star.

When I arrived, it was late at night and i called the numbers listed on the post box. the first number i called asked me to call the second number instead. that was quite unprofessional. He should have called his colleague instead. When we arrived at the room, the flish in the toilet was not working. We've informed them but the lady said that it was cause the previous guest just checked out, which was irrelevant to my problem. the flush should be working at all times regardless of what time the previous guests checked out. Also, they did not make it clear on the agoda website that the Queen room did not have an attached bathroom. wished they were more transparent about their rooms got a full refund for not staying. Would not recommend this place
