Dusit Buncha Koh Tao by Riya Group

Taa Then Bay / Cape Yaay Nee Koh Tao|1.64km from Mango Bay
I absolutely cannot recommend the hotel. The hotel was probably closed for 4 years and reopened in December 2023. It is in very bad condition. The rooms are outdated, the facility is dirty and still under construction. Building materials are flying everywhere. We didn't have a cow at first. We booked the chalet/bungalow. We had to leave the chalet we had booked immediately upon arrival because the smell was very strong. The lady at the hotel said that the paint had been freshly painted the day before. Here I ask myself why this is even offered to guests. After waiting for over an hour we got a room in a low category, we were once again negatively surprised. The air conditioning didn't cool down properly, there was no refrigerator in the room, no safe, no hairdryer, no shower enclosure in the bathroom. The equipment is very old. The TV does not work. There are no cupboards in the room to store clothes. The single bed is right next to the double bed & not separate with a partition in the room as booked in the chalet. The hotel complex is also horrible. Everything is still under renovation. Unfortunately, this was not noted anywhere by booking. There are several construction workers walking around. There is building material everywhere. The facility itself is very littered. Just like the pool. The pool bar & restaurant empty. There are no pool towels. Just like the pool. The pool bar & restaurant empty. There are no pool towels. The breakfast was inedible. After we slept in the hotel for one night, we were once again negatively surprised after our trip. The room wasn't even cleaned. No fresh towels. After my complaint, a lady came who wanted to clean our room. Unfortunately that was too late as we had to leave again. The staff at the hotel are very nice, but they cannot help us with the above-mentioned deficiencies. This hotel corresponds to a maximum of a 1-2 star hotel & not a 4 star hotel as described in booking. The renovation would have to be completed before this could be offered to guests.

Offering a range of rooms and pricing our deluxe double allowed for a very comfortable couple of weeks. The resort is not new but is in good condition, our room came with a comfortable double bed, TV (Netflix) a small fridge, tea & coffee making facilities and daily bottled (glass) water. The bathroom was generous in size and included double basins, a wardrobe & storage, the shower was good and the water was always hot. The resort picked us up and dropped us back to the pier as part of the cost of accommodation. What else did we enjoy, Air conditioning, outdoor table and chairs, pool with a swim up bar, beach front position and access, on site restaurant & bar, on site massage, dive school, good wifi. In the evenings the resort was quiet compared to some yet still close to the centre of the town (Sairee junction across the road from reception). At that junction take the road up the hill 650 metres to find the large supermarket “Smile Mart” for all food requirements, wine, spirits and beer by the case. While heading that way check out “Pork Leg restaurant” a great place for good affordable food and drinks. If your room comes with free breakfast, Morning View up on the main road is your best option. Walking onto the beach and turning right look for the hanging decorations, bean bags and lights of the O’chai beach bar & restaurant a great spot to relax and enjoy the beach, the cool vibe, dinner, a drink and the sunset. The lovely setting of this on beach restaurant and bar will draw you in, the quiet music, good service and great food will keep you coming back.

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to all of the main bars and shops.. Ohoo, behind the desk was so welcoming and helped with any of our problems straight away which contributed to the comfort of our stay. The pool was lovely and clean and overall it’s great value for money! Possibly one of the best hotels we stayed in on our trip

Victory is a unique environment in Mango Bay. The internal conditions of the room are very general, similar to the domestic 100, but it is still very sanitary. The restaurant is awesome, 270 degree sea view, personally feel better than all kinds of cliff restaurants, snorkeling is also very convenient, you can see a lot of fish at the entrance of the hotel. Free snorkeling tools and kayaks are also available. The entrance mainly depends on the hotel's own boat. It departs at Koh Tao Pier at 8:00 in the morning and returns to the hotel from Koh Tao Pier at 9:30. From the hotel at 12:30, it departs from the hotel to Koh Tao Pier (passing through Nanyuan Island, where it can be Get off the boat to play on the island), return to the hotel from Koh Tao Pier at 3:30 (on the way back to the hotel, pick up guests from Nanyuan Island and return to the hotel, about 4 o'clock). In general, the environment is beautiful and paradise. The photos are taken with an Apple mobile phone. Without any filters, it is really beautiful.

Hotel location is good, walk to the beach for 7-8 minutes, it is also close to the most prosperous section, there is a duck restaurant which is delicious, many people eat there.

Samatha Bed & Breakfast

This is a review of 2 halves, and the low rating does not imply that I would not recommend the SAMATHA B&B but there are areas that could be improved. The rooms are big, bright and airy, decorated in an industrial style that is unfussy and modern. There is a large balcony with decent furniture and although the view isn't particularly great, you can see the sea and it's okay for a drink and a rest after the day's activities. The problem is that the staff at the SAMATHA just don't seem to care for the guests. Cleaning is done only when you ask, I had to request that the room was cleaned daily despite putting the 'clean room' sign on the door it wasn't done. I had to negotiate changes of bed linen, we had it done once during a week long stay which was fine but I had to ask. Breakfast is a very meagre affair, on the advertisements it shows a blackboard with eggs benedict etc well don't expect that, 2 eggs, 2 bread and a hot or cold drink, if you ask for another hot coffee you will be charged. The staff although one was nice enough just don't engage - and believe me we tried. I hate giving a low score and the place itself is very handy for the nicest part of Sairee beach and the restaurants in town but it's a shame and it could be so much better. A heads up for the brilliant shop next door Silver Na's, they cannot do enough for you, we used them for just about everything from cold beers, motorcycle hire, snorkel equipment hire and onward travel, lovely people.
