Andalay Beach Resort Koh Libong

We stayed 4 days in mid February 2024.I would like to start saying that the whole staff is wonderful,the property is very cozy , well maintained and the food is very good.One of the best foot massage that I have ever had in Thailand was there.However,we found lot of families with kids at different ages that were crying,running,playing around us all the time.There were no places for relaxation,not at the breakfast,not at the restaurant,not at both pools,not even at the room.It was impossible to enjoy a dinner or a glass of wine without having kids playing loudly at the swings hanged next to the restaurant . I recommended to the management to define areas for adults as they have,for example,for smokers.Many resorts like this,specially if they have two pools,set one for families and the other only for adults,very simple.They have to work on this,otherwise this is a great place suited ONLY for families with young kids.

We had a great stay at the Andalay Beach resort. The entire hotel was very clean and the staff went out of their way to make our stay. A memorable one. We booked two rooms – one in the building in the back and one beachfront room facing the ocean. Both rooms were very nice and comfortable. We were satisfied and enjoyed our stay. Khun Atchy and Khun Nee at check-in were great and very accommodating with any request and helped with any problem we had. Khun Aof along with all of the restaurant staff were so pleasant and made us feel so welcome. We would definitely come back to this place.

The grounds are beautiful and the rooms spacious and clean. Everything is very well maintained and taken care of. The food is some of the best I have had in Thailand. The beach is interesting and only steps away. Food, drinks and trips are amazing value, I was genuinely surprised about what you can get some your money. The breakfast buffet was good and the service continuously kind and thoughtful. Free use of bikes and kayaks, clear water for snorkeling with some decent coral in places. The resort is very easy to love. I would make a point if returning as it’s one of the best I have stayed at in Thailand.

Very good staff - friendly and helpful. Beautiful site, v green with sturdy and well designed villas. Everything was catered for to make it a relaxing stay. When we were here there were mostly families with very young children staying. Restaurant was v good. Beach area and water in front of hotel nice and clean but saw lots of rubbish further up the beach.

Our choice in the luxury category for this holiday. 4 nights, including Chris**as Eve. It is a super nice place with beautiful surroundings, rooms and pool area. Undoubtedly a luxury resort. Very helpful and friendly staff and lots of employees of all kinds. With such a perfect place we had good expectations to the restaurant. It is ok, but more than once we experienced dishes with a lot of delay/forgotten. One night one of us didn’t get the dish until the others were finished and we didn’t get it before asking for it. As such the food was fine, but we have had better food other places in Thailand. Would definitely like to go back again for a few days of luxury.

Just perfect! Marvalous location and beautiful hotel. I booked a villa with ocean view. But the best is the attentive and super friendly staff. They helped with everything and even surprised me with a cake on my birthday ( I arrived just the day before). I was really touched. The concierge ‚Nee’ and her team are such wonderful people. Never felt so personallly cared for me in a hotel before. I‘ll come back next year. 1000% recommendation👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️😊😎🤩

This was our second time we stayed at the resort and never disappointed us. Their pools and garden were very well maintained. This time we stayed at the family room. It was back to the pool which was very handy. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The food was always nice and reasonably priced. The beach was nice, quiet, and kept clean by the resort staff. We hired a mini local taxi to take us around the island (around 35 AUD for a day) which was quite enjoyable. We went kayaking; provided by the resort free of charge. We will come back again as we still haven’t done any longtail boat tours around the smaller islands, fishing and squid jigging yet. Overall, it was a nice relaxing experience and highly recommended

This resort was by far the our favorite place, out of all the places we stayed on our 5 week trip to the southern islands in Thailand. Their villas were perfect for our family of 4, with a 3 year old and 6 month old. - The friendliest staff you'll ever meet - Eat your meals with your toes in the sand - while watching an epic sunset for dinner. - Free bike and kayak rental - 2 big pools - friendly locals and great food in the neighbouring village - easy island to explore on your own (rent a tuk tuk or scooter) Giving this place my absolute highest recommendation.

Just finishing our last day here at Andalay. This is our second stay here. First time was just before Covid closed boarders down worldwide. Andalay did NOT change! Everything was as good as first time we where here. The resort, the island, the staff and the people in general on Koh Libong. Staff greets you whenever you see them and they are eager to assist in every way they can. “Nee” who have been mentioned in previous reviews must be mentioned in this review too. She seems to be the mastermind of most, if not all operations at the resort. Right from meeting you at check-in, to serving you dinner some times. She does an outstanding job. But again, the entire staff is really excellent. Should I look for things that could be improved, it would be the lack of wifi in front of the pool. It’s pretty weak. A wifi-extender could fix that. But again, hardly anything you would notice. The hotel was full when we stayed here. That meant that you would sometimes have to wait 5-10 minutes before being served. Sitting under an umbrella watching the sea 15 meters away made the waiting time feel shorter though😎. Prices are reasonable. A meal will set you back 100-150 bath. A coke is 50 bath I think. We stayed, as on our first stay, in a “Phu Pha” room. It’s a one bedroom situated a little back from the beach. You can see the ocean between the palm leaves. We had an extra bed put in the room for our teen daughter. Our 12-year old son slept between his mom and dad in the king size bed. Next time we will try to book a bungalow closer to the beach. Just to try something new. However we would not be worried about staying in the same room as we are staying in now, again. The story about Andalay, as I’ve been told, is that it is owned iy a Thai husband and his wife. They both work as doctors. They bought the land(where Andalay is now placed)ages ago. It would their retirement plan. They stop by every Sunday to a look around. Saw the husband with some of the staff, and it was obvious that the a**osphere between owners and the staff was very relaxed and casual. Apparently, no staff was fired during Covid. They all kept their jobs here at Andalay. If you go for a party holiday, this is not the place for you. You come here to relax and rewind. Highest recommendations from us.
