Hotel Miramor- A level headed review We were concerned with the abundance of one star reviews before visiting the Miramor- Hotel. Never fear- here is an honest and level headed review of the hotel for those looking at booking it. Flash forward to conclusion- it's great, relax! Billed as a five star resort, it would be fair to say that is optimistic. I take nothing away from the cleanliness of the rooms and pools, and quality of the food and facilities, but we need to be realistic for those familiar with holidays in Dubai and the Seychelles. True, the hotel feels a little tired in some parts, there are perhaps a few more cats and little more junk knocking around the complex than one would care to see, but this is no horror show. The rooms are comfortable and clean, beds are comfy, showers hot and towels changed daily. The complex is split in to two parts- I would describe as the louder and quieter part by day. In the louder part, there are slides and a smaller pool for kids, and a larger pool. Near by is the Cafe Padre, where you can grab an ice cream and it's not too far from the main Sultan bar. There is a queueing system in operation at bars, which is generally adhered to. One member of staff operates this normally, which can sometimes lead to larger queues. Maybe not such a bad thing given the excitement of all you can drink! We came with a 7 month old and so opted for the quieter pool area, it doesn't get too busy and is kept very safe from slipping, with members of the team frequently getting rid of the water from the surfaces which is greatly appreciated! There is also a quieter bar here which I would recommend- Emircan makes a mean mojito! The beer is chuggable and Baileys equivalent not to be sniffed at. When it comes to food, it is a slight shock to the system how greedy certain folk can be. There are large queues for the BBQ food, but you can always get some if you're patient (sometimes difficult when you see one person taking a Mount Vesuvius of grilled meat). We were impressed with the range of food. The morning pancakes are made fresh, the bread is delicious and there is something for everyone. Again, there can be queues for things like the omelettes in the morning, but worth it. My advice would be to get in for early sittings for the food, and when there is baclava and strawberries, get it before you get your mains because they are hoovered up. I saw one family of four take between 50 and 60 pieces of baclava up to their room two nights consecutively, no idea what they were doing with it! A nice little touch is the fresh cooked corn on the cob which comes round on a trolley in the early afternoon. You grab your food from the main restaurant and take it in to the sheltered dining area, there are also some seats outside but you'll get pestered by the local cats, especially if they spot you have a high chair with food flying everywhere! I'd recommend taking it up to the terrace for a nice breeze at lunch- there is also a bar the
