Petani Bay Hotel - Adults Only

We stayed at this wonderful 'adults only' hotel 9 - 16 September in the beautiful Orino suite. Voula and John greeted us with open arms and we could not fault a thing. The breakfast was delicious - and so much of it!, including tasty treats to finish off, plus the light lunch round the pool and bar area was superb!. Voula, John and their staff - George, the Manager, Panos and Meleana - were all so friendly and could not do enough for us! especially Panos, who was by the pool bar until mid afternoon. Plus of course the staff behind the scenes - again all friendly and smiling - a very nice family and friendly feeling in this hotel. We loved the home grown vegetables and fruit from John - he should be very proud! Voula's knowledge of Kefalonia is absolutely first class - Voula listens to exactly what you want and we consequently we had a wonderful 6 hour tailor-made private tour. We met many repeat guests - which says it all - and we intend to go back to Petani Bay Hotel again. Must also mention the breathtaking sunsets!! What more could you want from a holiday!. An exceptionally run hotel with the owners ensuring their guests have the best at all times. Thank you! A&T

We had the most relaxing time met some great people .The rooms are superb the setting is fantastic and the hosts and staff are wonderful. The breakfasts and evening meals are excellent. The swimming pool has mesmerising addictive views and the loungers are the most comfortable we have ever used.We did not want to leave and will definitely return soon. Joe & Andrea

Absolutely gorgeous hotel, with beautiful views, wonderful staff, amazing pool, and comfortable rooms. Had dinner there one night and it was delicious. The only reason for deducting a start and why we wouldn't stay there again is that it's so far removed from anything else. Really do need a car if staying there. There are 2 tavernas within walking distance that are ok. The beach is a long steep walk away and we didn't even bother going.

Isolated location on the top of a mountain with nothing around.Rooms have balconies but view is blocked by the lobby.Breakfast absolute minimum coffee,eggs toast.You must rent a car to reach the hotel.You must take a ferry boat.You have to drive to go to the beach.We prepaid on the hotels website a room for 3 nights.We flew on Aegean to the island but the pilot could not land the plane due to high winds.We missed our first night.We called the hotel and advised them about our situation.There was no other flight on that day out of Athens.We arrived at the hotel the next day.The owner allowed us to spend only two nights.He asked us to pay twice for the third night at a price higher than the one posted on his web site!!We were the only guests at the hotel.We will never return.

We have just returned from the most amazing holiday at Petani Beach hotel. Owners John and Voula are the best we have encountered without a doubt. On arrival a most welcomed complimentary drink and seated to take on the most amazing views of the ocean and hills surrounding the hotel. Our luggage was taken and placed in our rooms and Voula was on hand to assist with any questions we had. Voula and John go above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. Informing you of places of beauty/interest plus recommendations for restaurants. George the Manager is also amazing, a man that manages many hats from chef to barman. Joanna and Andriana too the waitresses. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Petani beach hotel is located in a tranquil and scenic location to have peace and relaxation. Voula will help you with invaluable information throughout your stay for places of interest and beauty which will require the hire of a car. The sunsets from our balcony were something we have never experienced before and have to be seen to be believed. We really can’t understand the last review ( 12th Sept) as we were there at the same time and couldn’t fault the hotel in any way ! The service was exceptional, extremely friendly, we were treated like family friends and not like hotel guests! Our room was amazing, spotlessly clean with outstanding views. The pool and surroundings are stunning and the breakfasts delicious. We can’t thank Vulla , John, George, Costa and the girls enough for giving us such a magical holiday! We will definitely be back next year We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kefalonia

The hotel is located on an amazing cliff, overlooking the Petani bay with amazing view and gorgeous sunsets as it looks directly to the west. The location is remote so make sure you have a car as there is almost nothing available in walking distance. Parking is not a problem, although when we arrived all slots were full, the owners were helpful enough to locate a parking spot for us. The staff is friendly but not professional enough. The room we stayed in is quite big, with a big shower, living room, kitchenette and a bedroom. However, the hotel is super expensive ( one of the two most expensive hotels on Kefalonia during the days we stayed ), and it seems not a good value for money and disappointing in a few areas : 1. Although the room is quite big, there was no TV in the bedroom and the one in the living room is quite small and not comfortable to watch as it is hung quite high. 2. The shower, although big and equipped with a massage system, has a very low water pressure that prevents you from enjoying it, the water are not hot enough and after 2 nights of stay the soap ran out and was not refilled. 3. Be aware of the towels - the staff “threatens” you not to damage the beach towels or otherwise you will be fined 50€ per towel…. 4. Dinner - although the menu included a few dishes, most of them were not available. The hotel offered two types of pasta only - for those who don’t eat pasta, there was really no available dinner ( we walked 500 meters to the closest taverna to have a nice dinner instead ). 5. The room was cleaned daily but some areas were ignored - we left on the first day two used cups on the table and there were left as is for the duration of our stay. All in all, the hotel is very pretensions and charges prices for a very high level of expectations - I’d therefore expect a bit more attention to details, until then, it is not a good value for money.

What an amazing 5 days we spent here not wanting to leave and can't wait to go back. It's a family run hotel in a spectacular setting above Petani Bay. Actually you feel like one of the family by the time you leave, all members of staff are 100% sincere and fit in perfectly. The food is excellent, pool glorious and the "vibe" cannot be beaten. The rooms are spotless, well appointed and large. Our balcony offered spectacular panoramic views and the sunsets were out of this world. Highly recommended!

Absolutely superb! This is one of the most beautiful and relaxing hotels we have ever stayed in! Don’t miss it! It is a boutique, adult only hotel - small, intimate and unbelievably relaxing. The view over Petani Bay takes your breath away. The spectacular infinity pool which overlooks the bay provides the most incredible panorama. The photos don’t quite capture the stunning beauty not only of the views but the hotel itself. Facing west, you will not enjoy a better sunset anywhere in the world. The hotel has been meticulously designed and planned by its charming and charismatic owner, Giannis, and no detail has been overlooked. Everything is perfect and each bedroom has a spectacular balcony looking west. The staff are all brilliant; breakfast is amazing and the lovely Veula runs the hotel with grace, charm and precision. Last but not least, the peace and “vibe” could not be more relaxing. You simply don’t want to leave.
