Blue Palm Hotel

I loved how flexible and serviceful it is ... we arrived type 10:30pm, without reservation and with a huge desire to get to a pool, as they asked us, they told us that the pool was closed at 10pm but they could make the exception and allowed us Use it until midnight :) was delicious! They told us the check out was at 11am but as we had arrived so late we were going to change it for 2pm ... at the end we were enjoying so much that we were left to stay until 4pm ... 5 We've asked for a glass of ice for drinks and we've given a whole ice bag to use it in our ice cream ... are small details that mark the difference. The beautiful and well-equipped rooms, the comfortable facilities, the hot water worked perfectly 👌... generally satisfied!
Selina Jaco

Had a wonderful stay at Selina Jaco. Even with a shared bathroom between 4 rooms, we never encountered an issue as far as waiting on anyone to use the facilities. The pool, the bar, the beach, the vibes were all on point. Everyone was so friendly, staff and other travelers alike. It was nice talking to people from other walks and places of life. I loved every minute of our stay here, and will recommend this hostel to anyone! Hopefully we'll get back there next year! Pura Vida!

The front of the hotel can be misleading, as the hotel is actually quite nice. The rooms are pretty good. The pool area is large and well designed, and have a bar right there. A lot of the rooms have view to the pool. The tennis/basketball/indoor soccer field is great, with roof. They have pool tables, table tennis and foosball. The restaurant is 24/7, which comes in very handy, and also adds the advantageof not being tied to a specific schedule for the free breakfast that's included. Parking can be a little confusing at first, but it's actually close to the rooms (I would improve it by addign signs on the road indicating how to get to the parking lot).
Hotel Terraza del Pacifico

A hotel chosen by Wingbuddy (represented by Travel Excellence at the local)in our Costa Rica nature tour, probably because there were no rooms for the whole group in Punta Leona 30 km away. The hotel is an old 3-star hotel with poorly old rooms, in addition to the absence of a safe and a tube to be renovated in the bathroom, the bed was correct as well as the AC. The proximity to the road is not an advantage when trucks use their brakes in compression with a hell noise that will disturb sleepers at light sleep. The two swimming pools were not recent but are funny as well as the one-off bar service. The hotel is located 10 minutes from Jaco Beach, where the beach is more recommendable for the bath than the hotel where the currents are dangerous, but they enjoy surfers. The nice menu is still interesting with the small American tea, typical, Terrazza del Pacifico or tomato eggs. Even with a limited offer for the evening, you can find good dishes with low sauce garlic or sea fruit pastes were excellent. We have dinner at a pizzaria at 0.4 km from the hotel that was good, but the journey along the road is dangerous, especially at the crepuscle. Our agency ordered us the Covid tests of a local hospital and the cost is US$ 110 with results for PCR in 30 hours by email. Attention to ask for the correct test, three travellers were refused access, the result received quickly being an antigen test not allowable for access to the flight to Canada. The hotel is located in the city centre of Jaco Beach, where the hotel is located.

I have been to this hotel many many years again when it was under a different name/ management. Several things have changed. There no longer is a restaurant or bar at the hotel. So adding breakfast to your stay isn’t an option. Close by is downtown Jaco and we had a car so that wasn’t a problem at all for us but I think other visitors need to keep this mind. Also must bring all toiletries. I’m used to a maid service everyday at the hotels I usually stay at but I think to cutt down on costs. I didn’t mind , but again heads up. Yes the hotel perhaps is past it’s prime and a few things in the room look a bit worn down but considering the very budget price you are paying it’s all good. Everything seemed very clean and I care more about that than a decent paint job. The property has 2 large pools and two children’s pools that are disturbed throughout the property and direct connection to the beach in front. Ample parking. With all the families and groups of friends staying around the pool with there loaded ice boxes with beers and stereos I honestly thought It was going to be hard to get a decent quiet night sleep presuming people would get rowdy. Wasn’t the case both nights we stayed there. Perhaps luck or the staff really makes sure everyone keeps the noise down after a certain hour.
