Hotels near Walmart, Houston

We have been coming to Houston for medical treatment at MD Anderson we have spent many days here and the last time stayed at Staybridge westchase we loved it but this time we wanted to be closer to medical center. Not disappointed the staff here is great the rooms are clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast is good and the evening social hour is fun.The shuttle service is very handy.Also special thanks to Chantel at the front desk she was very helpful and a great attitude thanks

This boutique hotel has so much potential, but the room killed the vibe for me immediately. The vintage, colorful decor is inviting, and the receptionist was kind, funny, and helpful. My room smelled musty, and I saw hair in the linens upon arrival. The room hadn’t been dusted properly, and I asked to see another room, but they were completely sold out. They were kind enough to cancel my reservation without penalty, and I grabbed a drink at the bar and chatted with a few locals before leaving to another hotel.

American breakfast, you can eat whatever you want and pack it, there is no limit. The twin room can accommodate 4 people, and there is also a sofa, which can accommodate 5 people. There is no need for an extra bed. The hotel is located near the Houston Medical Center, and there are supermarkets and grocery stores nearby, so it is more convenient to buy things. It’s a little far away from Chinatown. If you want to make your own Chinese food and buy raw materials, it’s a little farther away. The hotel has a kitchen where you can cook your own meals. There is a parking lot, but there is a charge, but it is not charged by the hotel guests. If you come to visit your friends, you only need to report the room number to park for free. The hotel staff are very nice, very friendly and kind, and sincerely willing to help others. The hotel has a laundry room, the laundry and drying are done twice, this is better

A majority of the employees need to attend hospitality school. I have never stayed at a hotel with employees who were so rude and had no interest in helping guests. This hotel was the host hotel for an event I was attending. My flight arrived really early. I called a few days prior to see if an early check-in would be an option. They recommended I call once I arrived. Unfortunately they did not have a room available and took my number to notify me as soon as it was ready. They never called. I was on the 11th floor and next to a suite. On two occasions I had to call downstairs because their music was so loud….at 5am. It sounded like a night club and smelled like ****. The hotel did take care of this immediately which I appreciated. Breakfast was included with the hotel stay and vouchers were given out at check-in. Olga has to be the rudest person I have ever witnessed in a restaurant setting. She yelled at guests, demanded to know where our vouchers were, and was very belittling to her co-worker Susan. Susan was amazing and did her best to make-up for Olga’s rudeness. Since this is a buffet, I understand that they do not want people to take food to go. Here is my thought: they were constantly running out of food. Some of us ran out of time to eat and still get to the event. One person waited and finally had to leave. She took her fruit. Olga ran after her and took the plate of fruit from her. It was shocking. I guess it is better to throw the fruit in the trash verses allowing her to eat the fruit in her room. Olga was extremely rude to all of us. I never returned to the restaurant because I was so turned off by her attitude. As a company, IHG should be embarrassed by her behavior and her treatment of guests. I also understand that many hotels are not cleaning rooms on a daily basis. I am completely fine with this. On several occasions I requested extra coffee and creamer from the front desk. Each time I was told they did not have anything. I asked how to get more coffee and was told it was not their problem. I requested extra towels and received a dirty washcloth and towel. As I mentioned we there for an event. On Friday night with a bar full of paying customers, they closed the bar at 10pm. Southwest had major flight cancellations requiring people to be there for an extra night. When I went downstairs to secure another night for my friends who had checked out, the front desk employee was too interested in his phone to help me and suggested I use a third party booking site. For $170/night, I expected a lot more from a hotel. IHG should be appalled with this hotel staff. IHG needs to have a major review of their hotel staff at this location. I finally started laughing at the lack of service because I thought it couldn’t get worse and it repeatedly did. This staff needs a lot of training to be in the hospitality world.

The hotel is very clean, the room is very comfortable, there are supermarkets such as KROGER nearby, very convenient

I have stayed here 4 times. It is my favorite place to stay in Houston. You will not find a better team than Michael R. Giangrosso or Eli Rodriguez. We were stranded in Houston during the ice storm in Feb of 2021 for 10 days. We could not have asked for a more accommodating team from management to house keeping!! You wont be sorry

I was very impressed with this comfortable motel. It had the best designed room I've ever stayed in. Examples: mirror on outside of bathroom door so when you open door two mirrors facing so you can put on make up, etc.; lots of storage space; full kitchen with full size refrigerator, two top electric oven, microwave, dishwasher with dishes, dishtowels and diswasher liquid; large pull out table under desk area; desk area well lighted with clip board and places for notes; ottoman has metal table on top that can be pulled off and used as a bed table; also a small table that pulls up to the sofa. Staff courteous and helpful. They have special rates for M D Anderson patients and their families.
