Truong Giang Hotel

The room was clean, air cond worked, fan too, window opened onto a noisy street but then you are in District 5 near Chinatown. There was no complimentary bottles of water unless you asked for it. The owner is friendly and bought us breakfast.
Vien Dong Hotel

It is near Chinatown so it would be a great location for anyone interested in the old Chinese culture from the South of China especially Cantonese culture and food from Hong Kong and the South of China. It is about 10 minutes drive from the centre of the city. The people working at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to Asian travellers and people interested in Chinese cultures who want to stay a little away from the touristic areas of Ho Chi Minh city.
Bat Dat Hotel

Whether it is a friendly space service attitude, it is a good value for money hotel. I will recommend it to my relatives and friends to visit here. I will visit again in a short time!
Trung Mai Hotel

The room is a bit old and the price is about the same.
Sao Mai 896 Hotel

Had booked 2 nights but only stayed 1. Booked a double bed for my boyfriend and I, the locker provided only fitted 1 of our bags. Easy check in, the staff at reception had some English. The bathroom is located inside the dormitory room and the door is a little noisy so was conscious about using it at night, throughout the night and early morning. We were woken up by a person chatting on a loud phone call and then a couple packing up there stuff at 6:30am. The couple had no respect for others sleeping. This is not the fault of the hostel but it might be an idea to put up a sign asking people to be mindful at certain times. I'm pretty sure staff were changing the rubbish bag in the bathroom around 7am as when I got up later it was an empty bin..this could have waited untill a little later in the morning. The room got warm at night, we turned on the fan but it was very loud and we were conscious of others. Location is an hour walk outside the main district so prepare to walk or else spend some money on Grabs. Nice enough budget Hostel, provided tootbrushes and shampoo.

The hotel is located in District 5 so for us it was ok because close to relatives. Not so close to city centre for tourists but ok for a 30 min taxi ride to District 1. Rooms ok and would be 4 star locally and 3.5 stars for western review system. Staff were fantastic but limited English for foreigners to stay. My wife speaks Vietnamese so we were ok. Our original room had an air conditioner problem and staff moved us to a bigger room at no cost. We were happy with this hotel.
