Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora, an IHG Hotel

I love this hotel! From the moment we were ushered in from the shuttle coming via Odawara stn, the hotel felt very welcoming. Reception was a large open table that is not your typical hotel reception that feel too formal. we were first brought to the lower bar seating area where it’s comfy sofa seating. Check in took awhile as many guests were received from the hotel shuttle bus (25-30 seater). Staff always check in with us on the progress while we waited. Room came with private onsen though I hope it could have been the natural spring water instead of tap. Love the huge room size thats great for little kids to run around, met my standard of cleanliness as well. Breakfast adequate but not a huge spread which I find pricey at 3900 yen. Some bread, fried jap style fish, somen, cold appetisers, veg dips, fruits, around 6-8 hot dishes including omelette and poached eggs. Yet a lot of drink choices fr milk, soy, juices, teas, etc. we had the set dinner 18000 yen and 15000 yen as both of us had diff menus. Was a 3-4 course dinner, nothing out of this world and we didnt want the hassle of walking out to find food. This was one hotel we found many singaporeans (we are one too) as breakfast and dinnertime in resto is when we started noticing the accents. Nearby is a 7-11 nearby around 300m by foot if you feel peckish in middle of the night. Very pleasant stay, like that they provide mpv service to and fro gora station that would be most main boarding point to other attractions, mind that it runs till 6pm so any later you can take the Hakone Tozan bus which brings you to the pizza resto just a short 50m walk from hotel main road.

Excellent service! It was very crowded at check in but the friendly staff greeted us and sat us down at sofa, also directed us to welcome drinks and snacks. It was a bit hard to find driving to the hotel after sunset as it was tugged away in a small street. 5 minutes drive from Gora station, 7 min to Open Air Museum, and 15 min to 大涌谷 volcanic steam vent. The in room private onsen was great!! Public bath was a little disappointing, it’s quite small and co-ed, usage so we need to wear swim suits which felt a little awkward.

Great hotel with outstanding service!! Shuttle service provided to Odawara train station. One slight negative feedback is that their local shuttle service ends at 6pm from Gora station which is quite early, many tourists have to share cab together from Gora.

Hotel is located not directly in the city but not hard to find. Service is definitely great and very nice hotel with good buffet breakfast. It has public onsen and also room onsen bath. Overall very nice

Really nice hotel. Some rooms have a private onsen bath which make it really great. Location is about 1 km from Gora station, but the hotel will provide shuttle to/from Gora station.

We like the private bathtub inside the room. Service is good and hotel provide free transport to Giza station. There have public foot hot spring.
