Nueve 25 Hotel Boutique

Trying to get to the hotel was a little confusing due to the tunnels and a police officer blocking the main road to get to the hotel, but eventually we got there. There is no valet but you can park your car on the left side real quick and go inside to let them know you’ve arrived and they will park your car for you. We got greeted by a wonderful, very well spoken bilingual woman named Aileen. She was so helpful and informative. It was a huge plus for us to have someone speak English since my American boyfriend didn’t know Spanish. The rooms were extremely clean and had all the amenities that we needed for our stay. If you forgot something at home, they most likely had it. We loved that the hotel was RIGHT in the middle of the city. Everything is walking distance. Now for the cons… We booked 3 massages and the spa room only fit 1. I would have wanted to at least have had a couples massage but they accommodated it in our room. It wasn’t as relaxing as we would have wanted it. The masseuses did a great job tho. There was also an extremely loud noise coming from the room upstairs, it seemed like someone was moving/building furniture. It woke us up at 8 am and the noise got worse thru out the morning we couldn’t go back to sleep. Besides those things I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would have my family stay there again!
Casa Lupita Hostel

Easy enough to find uphill from the gorgeous Plaza Baratillo, La Lupita has a pretty front patio with trees and potted plants. Not staying in a dormitory I didn't have the bad experience of the previous reviewer; my room was guarded by a massive oak door with stairs leading up to the bedroom itself. Clean and comfortable too; plenty of blankets for the chilly nights. A bit of street noise---not traffic but people talking loudly---but no major problems. I didn't have much to do with the management but they did what was required. There's an Abarrotes shop in the plaza for kitchen needs, but watch your step on the flight leading to the hostel.
Hotel Chocolate Deluxe

A hotel with a relatively high price/performance ratio. It arrived at 9 o'clock in the evening. The positioning error point was not found. I was afraid, but the service staff came to pick me up. I was very friendly and eliminated my worry. The room was very spacious and the panoramic view on the top of the mountain was very beautiful. It is necessary to climb the mountain to go to the center of the town. It was more difficult when I came up, but it was good for me, the overall impression was good, and I would come again. Thank you for leaving me a good travel impression.
Hotel Posada Santa Fe

The other reviews have said it mostly. Let me sum up. Location. Guanajuato has much of the city unaccessable by car/taxi. This hotel has parking, down it's back street on reservation. Some other hotels you might have to carry your bags some distance. As it was, I had to carry my bags a block at midnight, and then call to be let in. It is in the city center, on a park square, with most of the public buildings, monuments, etc. When you are walking a lot coming to a home base that is close is important. A hotel off the beatin path might be nice too. The Views. None of the reviews talked about the roof of the hotel. It has some nice views that are worth the stay alone. I asked for an upper floor room, thinking I might get one of those balconies by default. No dice, but sitting on the roof was plenty consolation for the two flights of stairs. Plus, it largely cut out the noise from the square. The hot tub was out of commission though. Convenience. This is a historic hotel. Small rooms, mexican tiled bathrooms, carved wood doors. If you decided to come to Guanajuato, why would you stay in a Hilton? The hotel has a hodge podge design, of convoluted stairs and additions, that resemble the towns construction, built up over centuries. It has a beautiful old world lobby. The staff were on the spot, and helpful with old school butler efficiency, answering all questions.
Casa del Rector Hotel Boutique

A very beautiful hotel with a very small door opening. It is a little inconvenient to park in a narrow road at the entrance, but it is still possible to quickly drop off your luggage. The name Art Hotel is not an exaggeration. It has an artistic atmosphere, and many places are beautifully photographed. The view is also first-rate, the small courtyard outside this twin room can see the colorful houses of Guanajuato, which are very good during the day and night. The geographical position is superior, just in the small town, quiet in the middle of noisy, a few minutes walk to the most lively central area and various attractions.
