My husband and I went to this hotel during our honeymoon. It looked great online, with 5 star ratings. On our first night there, we had no hot water. There is a rainfall shower and a shower attachment in the bathtub. We spent the whole day outside and were looking forward to a shower. The water was cold int he rainfall shower and barely lukewarm in the bathtub. We called the front desk, and a man came by and said our options were either cold showers tonight or to shower in the spa. The next night, we requested a different room in which the showers were hot. We were then told it was a problem in the whole hotel and they were trying to find us a room. They gave us a handicap accessible room, which would have been fine except the toilet was in the shower. We requested a different room, and the hotel agent confirmed the water would be warm. I was very excited to have a shower, and I had 2 minutes of lukewarm water and then it was cold again. Granada was already wet and chilly, and this really dampened our stay. No refund or discount was offered. I didn’t have a warm shower the whole time I was there, which for a 5 star hotel is ridiculous.

Stayed on honeymoon. All aspects were great and the staff are very friendly. The location, service and facilities were all a great experience. Also the Alhambra Palace from the hotel rooftop bar was very nice too. If you have anything to come to Granada next time, this is the hotel you want to stay again.

Waiting for Check in, a large cup of freshly squeezed orange juice was delivered. The room facilities were also very modern. The first time the toilet was equipped with washlet. When I came back from a trip, the room sent a plate of ginkgo, cheese and ham dings and biscuits to replenish energy. Going out to eat everywhere, especially the seafood restaurant recommended by the hotel, can actually enjoy the cheap Tapas. Breakfast is ordered according to the menu, very delicious. The only downside is that there is no body lotion in the room, and the local area is very dry, but after telling the front desk, a small bottle of L'Occitane body lotion - shampoo and other toiletries are L'Occitane.

I’m sorry to deduct stars for this hotel as there is much about it to enjoy and we did. The concierge was very helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable and it’s a great location for the city but ……. 1. Having a roof top bar is an asset. We were encouraged by the reception staff to visit it as it has stunning views. I asked if you had to book and was told no, open from 7. It does have stunning views as we discovered when we went up there but it was closed on Monday and Tuesday! Why? It’s peak tourist season and we were encouraged to go up there ! Very disappointing. 2. The breakfast buffet was good but there was only one person clearing and laying tables and making sure supplies were replenished. There were queues for bread, juice , bacon and eggs. It was 9am. Shame as it’s a great location .

My family stayed two nights in this hotel on a tour of Alhambra Palace. The outside common area of the hotel, including the dining room, was very well maintained and could deserve a 5-star rating. The rooms inside were a different story. We occupied two rooms. One was a “superior deluxe room,” and the other was a “classic city-view double room.” Both had the same price tag. The deluxe room was spacious and well-lit but had an odd arrangement with a useless bathtub in the center. Moreover, the room smelled of sewage when we entered the room—which I notified the management. They disagreed and claimed there was no sewage smell. I did not appreciate the response, as all four of our family members smelled of sewage. Nor did I escalate the issue, as our stay was short. The city-view room had a small window overlooking the city without much viewing space. The room was tiny, with two twin beds packed in the room, and was poorly lit. It felt like being in a prison cell. The shower doors in both rooms did not close fully, so the water splashed out. In short, both rooms were substandard and did not deserve the price tag at all. My recommendation to travelers is to stay elsewhere, and if you need to stay there, avoid the small “city-view” rooms and Deluxe Room #331 that smells of sewage. I got to love Spain and its people who are very friendly and helpful, but not this hotel.

This is the most satisfying hotel in this trip except for the Coimbra Garden Hotel in Portugal. The hotel is not far from Granada’s most famous attraction, the Alhambra, which is within walking distance and is easily accessible by bus; it is surrounded by the most prosperous area of Granada, and the food street is on the left side of the hotel. The location is quiet; the train station (now there is no train, but the bus operated by the railway company) needs to take the bus, but the station is not far from the hotel. The attitude of the reception desk is very good, and the business is proficient and the English is smooth. The rooms are newer, the style is comfortable with a balcony, all kinds of facilities are well maintained and well maintained, and the bathroom has plenty of hot water.

Me alojé en este hotel durante 2 noches. Situado en una calle muy tranquila. Muy cerca del centro. Habitación estaba bien. Bien decorada. La cama era cómoda. Disponía de nevera, microondas y cafetera. Se concilia muy bien el sueño pues no había ni un solo ruido, ni un ruido de coche. Muy cerca dispones de un gran almacén y un buen supermercado. El cuarto de baño no muy grande . Uno de los días tuve problema con el agua de la ducha. Salió bien al principio pero después el agua estaba fría totalmente. El segundo día no tuve ese problema. Los picaportes de las ventanas estaban un poco deteriorados. La ventana que tenia en la cabecera de la cama estaba el picaporte sin algún tornillo y te quedabas con él en la mano. Sugiero que se hiciera un poco de mantenimiento de esos pequeños detalles. El aire acondicionado funcionaba muy bien. Dispone de recepción solo durante unas horas, pero te dejan un teléfono para cualquier cosa que necesites.

Stayed for 2 nights on a room only basis. Spotlessly clean and very friendly staff. Rooms have a good mini fridge, and there is a kitchen next to Reception with a kettle, microwave, cutlery and crockery. Bus stop outside goes to the Alhambra for €1.40. Good selection of bars outside the hotel, and about a 10 minute stroll to the Cathedral, or Bib Rambla all on the flat. At the start of the narrow road to the hotel is a roundabout. Here is the Marquis’s sister hotel - great for breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bread, coffee and a large bowl of fruit & yogurt will set you up for the day for under €10. Just around the corner you can catch the C32 bus to Albaicin for €1.40. Lovely views going up a very steep climb. Get out at St Nicolas Square at the top. There are a couple of cafés next to the square where you can enjoy a coffee or beer, with the most amazing views of the Alhambra, then catch the bus or walk downhill (about 20 mins) back into the centre. We were worried about driving and parking in Granada, so we parked up in a little town outside of Granada, called El Fargue (coming in from Murcia), and caught the N8 bus in. Cost €1.40, and travels down the only main road through every hour, just after the hour, to Jardines del Triunfo, which is the other end of the main Gran Via de Colon - a 15 min flat stroll from the hotel, or a 5 min taxi ride. N8 bus returns to El Fargue from the same place at half past the hour. Saved the stress and expense of driving and parking in the City. Very successful. We will certainly do it again, and we will also stay at the Marquis Urban again.

This historical building is quite unique, even from the moment you enter the special entrance door. It’s a quaint hotel, and is very conveniently located (although the street was a little loud in the morning). We were only here for one night, but the staff was helpful and friendly. Our room had to have been one of the largest as it was huge! I think it may have been the Serena de Amarillos room. The bathroom was also enormous, although it did not have a shower, just a tub. Even though we didn’t use the toiletries provided as we had our own, Gar Arnat provided more than I’ve ever seen in a hotel before which is a nice touch. There was a refrigerator with included water which was great. There was also plenty of room to sit and have a glass of wine at night, and everything was very clean. We did have an issue with the air conditioner that night, and I talked to the gentleman at the desk. He came to look at it and just said it was because it was such a large room that it wasn’t keeping up. By the middle of the night however, it did get quite chilly. They even have a “wish tree” in the main lobby. They provide hanging tags you can write on and hang on the tree. I would recommend a stay here if you visit Granada.

The first room was badly smelled in the bathroom and put us next to a family of incivics who left us unsleeved. The next day we had the air and we asked for room change for the bad neighbors we had. I came here several times in the past five years but I was happily surprised this time. The hotel has been entirely refurbished like three weeks ago and it looks completely new. Rooms size are correct and decoration is very modern. The best the B-Heaven bar which is located at the rooftop with the pool. Its location is awesome too, in downtown but avoiding crowds. Very recommendable!
