Sansuiso Tsuchiyu Spa

We visited Sansuiso in December 2022 in the snowy weather. Four of us stayed in a suite room with private bath in Shisuitei, the new wing. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable with a bedroom section (with 2 ample sized western beds) that can be separated with sliding doors at night, as well as a very big tatami room where two more people can sleep on futons. The heating system was top notch with precise control, and I should mention the toilet was equipped with top-of-the-line TOTO washlet bidet with automated lid and flushing. I have multiple food allergies, including gluten (celiac disease), and my husband cannot eat eggs or dairy products. When I explained this to them when I made the reservation, they readily accommodated us, and I was thrilled that they didn’t simply skip some things, but carefully prepared special course menus to match our needs. Since my mother was going through chemotherapy, we had a private room for dinner and breakfast (plus we could add whatever we wanted from the breakfast buffet to the prepared meal). Both my mom and her friend said they felt like they had been treated to a fine restaurant for each meal. It was our first time to stay in Tsuchiyu Onsen; we stayed there for two nights when it was snowing heavily due to a big cold wave. When my mom wanted to go shrimp fishing or my husband wanted to paint kokeshi dolls, the kind okami-san (innkeeper) tactfully allowed us to take the shuttle bus to the venue and the bus came to pick us up on the way back to the inn. Bathing with a view of the snowy slope and waterfall was also wonderful. The shuttle bus from right in front of the Fukushima station is convenient, too. If an opportunity presented itself, we would love to visit Sansuiso again.

Service is excellent! The staff is very friendly and helpful. He can speak a bit of English. Room is huge and clean with a private toilet and a kitchen area with a microwave. Surrounding area is very quiet and scenary is very beautiful. Got free parking. Onsen is fantastic too. We can use the onsen one more time even though we have checked out at 10am. Got free coffee. Overall, recommended if you visit Tsuchiyu, Fukushima.
Ryokan Tamagoyu

It was a ryokan that satisfies everything, including hot springs, facilities, and meals. The free-flowing hot spring that I was looking for is outside the ryokan building, and there are three open-air baths, one for mixed bathing, one for women only, and one for men only, each in its own building. (Of course, the indoor bath is inside the building.) If the weather is fine, there should be no problem, but if the weather is bad or in winter, some concerns remain. The hot spring was a wonderful cloudy sulfur spring. I thought it was a sulfur hot spring with a strong sulfur smell, but it was a moderately weak sulfur hot spring. It was a highly recommended ryokan for those who want to encounter real natural hot springs.

・This time, I was able to telework for 4 nights and 5 days, and I had a comfortable time. If I were going on a trip with my family for 2 nights and 3 days, I would choose a hot spring inn that includes breakfast and dinner, but since I was working from home this time, I made the right choice to choose this facility.・Although there is no massage chair in the facility, there is a massage parlor called ``Tsuchiyu Momihogushi'' in the area, and the owner therapist, a talented lady, not only massages, but also drains the lymph, so I was so impressed. It flushed away waste products, made my body feel much lighter, and thanks to the synergistic effect of the hot springs, I was able to sleep soundly for the first time in a while.・There is a sauna at Otome Yuri, another day trip hot spring facility in the hot spring town, and as a sauna lover (beginner), I was able to enjoy the sauna by going there. ⇒The overall satisfaction level of Tsuchiyu Onsen is 5 stars. Service: ★★★★☆ ・Manager Moe Watanabe was very kind and lent me an office chair and a humidifier, which made my telework go smoothly.・Yukata, towels, and amenities are available for a fee. I chose a Japanese-style room, so I laid out my own futon. I brought everything with me so there was no problem at all, and the futon I hadn't seen in a long time was fresh and nice.・Good because you can choose from breakfast, lunch, cafe menu, drinks, etc. according to your needs. What's noteworthy is that the food menu is nothing short of flattering. It's simple, but it's a menu that uses koji, so it's healthy and delicious, so you'll be very satisfied. *It would be perfect if the number of food items on the menu increased a little more. Cleanliness: ★★★★★ ・Opened in 2018 as a renovated hot spring inn. You can feel the quality of the renovation here and there, and the cleaning is thorough, so you can spend a comfortable time here. Sleeping comfort: ★★★☆☆ ・This time I stayed in a Japanese-style room, and the futon was average. The mattress was quite thick, so it wasn't uncomfortable to sleep on. I didn't use the bed, so I don't know how comfortable it was. Price: ★★★★★ ・It depends on the season and plan, but when I used it, it was reasonable at around 3000 yen per night. If you consider other factors, it's cost-effective ◎ Other: - There is a beautiful shared kitchen, so if you buy ingredients around Fukushima Station in advance and bring them in, you can comfortably cook for yourself.・There is no convenience store in the hot spring town, but there is a store called Katoya Shoten that functions as a convenience store, but there is only one elderly owner? Since the store is stocked in stores, the selection is limited, so it's best to shop around Fukushima Station before going.・The hot spring (large public bath) that uses the Tsuchiyu source is not large, but the 60℃ hot water from the source is mixed with spring water, making it a moderate temperature that is very pleasant. *The open-air bath is a private bath and can be used for an additional fee. It is tattoo friendly, so it is recommended for foreign travelers visiting Japan.
Adachiya Ryokan

When I got off the Fukushima Nishi Interchange and went up to the entrance of the Azuma Skyline, which is closed in winter, the smell of sulfur hit my nose. Adachiya is there. A pale, muddy hot spring boasting a history of over 400 years. As it is said to be the best free-flowing hot spring in the prefecture, the hot water overflows. The hot spring, which is the specialty hot spring, is so rich in hot spring ingredients, mainly sulfur, that it irritates the skin. Moreover, the bathtub, which is built along the mountain surface, is rich in rustic beauty and is one of the top ten open-air baths I have ever visited. The atmosphere of the inn is also good! The accommodation plan this time is ”Enjoy Fukushima's sake / pairing of carefully selected sake and food”. After enjoying the open-air bath, we were brought three kinds of appetizers and local sake for ”comparing sake drinkers in your room”. Sake lees cream cheese is ”Yaemon / Junmai dry”, prosciutto ham is ”Naraman / Junmai”, two kinds of sesame tofu is ”Yamanoi / Junmai Ginjo”. A blissful moment before a meal while gazing out at the light snow falling outside. All the recommended pairings are delicious! At dinner, 5 types of sake are served to match the dishes. ”Oku no Matsu / Junmai Daiginjo Sparkling” for appetizers, ”Eikawa / Junmai” for bowls, ”Tenmei / Junmai Ginjo Honsei” for sashimi, ”Suehiro / Denshoyama Haijun” for meat dishes and pots Rice”, and “Kokken/Junmai Daiginjo” for sweetness. The hearth banquet ”Yukemuri no Utage” has a wide variety of dishes, each of which is delicious. Of course, it goes great with Japanese sake. I drank about 3 go of 8 kinds of sake in total, but it was an irresistible plan for sake lovers. It is one of the few hot spring inns that will make you want to visit again.

We used it in a baby pack. I think it was a good space for two children + one adult. It was a pity that the room smelled dry from the bathroom curtain. The laundry room was not crowded and easy to use. It was very safe that the new corona virus alcohol was everywhere. The children stayed in the room when adults used laundry, but it was inconvenient to have to pull out the room card. It was good that there were two room cards.
