Youth Hostel Rapperswil-Jona offers dormitory and private rooms with a balcony and view of the garden, 850 metres from the Blumenau Train Station. The hostel features free Wi-Fi, a buffet breakfast and 3-course dinner offered on the covered terrace. we stayed one night before going to Alpamare with our 2 kids (5 and 7), we had a room on 3rd floor with a nice view on the lake. It was very quiet, the bed was huge. the staff was very friendly, the parking next to the hotel is included, which is very convenient. the hotel is one minute away from Alpamare, the is also a shopping center close by. We had dinner at the restaurent OLEA and the food was good but the service was extremely poor and slow. We had to ask 3 times to get a beer and we never got the wine list after asking several times. the breakfast was good,including fresh orange juice but the scrambed eggs were cold in the buffet and some croissants seemed to be from the day before. I can recommand the hotel but not the restaurent.

Booked this hotel to stay in during our roadtrip through Switzerland. We booked the Family suite and it was large enough for the four of us. Two kids had separate beds. Room is spotless with good view and very clean. Staff are very welcoming and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. During our stay, it was my daughter’s birthday and the staff surprised her with chocolate cake and ice cream. This was a very special touch. Parking in the hotel is 30 CHF per night however just across the street it is only 10. Very easy-going hotel with good access to Rapperswill and transport links. Highly recommended.

We were for the second time at Hotel Sorell Speer. This time not alone as a couple, but with my mother. I booked the two rooms long in advance, directly over the hotel (chain). My wish: two rooms next to each other or vis à vis. At the arrival we were treated as if we had never been in this or another sorell. A “Welcome back” would have been happy. The rooms were then on the same floor, but not next to each other. That disappointed us. Especially since it was our only wish. The rooms OK. Beautiful clean. Parquet floor. No coffee machine on the room, shower in the bathtub, furniture remember the 80s. All right, but not for the price. Breakfast: classic. Nothing exceptional. There are still only two juices and not a selection of five+ as in the other Sorell. Why the tea is served in the small Espresso Tassli is not reached us. Nice staff. When checking out everything very well 0815. No “to soon” “good trip”,....at all the time, a water was made for on the way. Globally speaking: we didn't feel very welcome, our wish was not taken into account and not corrected as I said at check in, breakfast ok. Price performance was not right at the weekend for us personally.

We love the Oriental Boutique Rooms: great Eastern Deco, whirlpool with sea view, separate toilet, washing basin with 2 water chicks. We also like the new wellness area very well, even if we prefer more textile free saunas. And the Infinity Pool is always impressive. 4-Gang-Menü in Loy Fah was as always excellent. And from the offer of breakfast buffet some 5-Sterne-Hotel could cut a disk, absolute top class.

I had booked a double room. But as we wanted to go earlier than thought of a party (because my husband didn't feel so well) we went home instead of to the nearby hotel. In fact, the amount should be cancelled from the card. But this morning I received the message that you will not bear us on the card!!! Very cuant - Thanks!
