Doric Hotel

Had a lovely stay at the doric, staff were more than helpful. Great location by the trams for easy access to attractions

There was a sea view. The room was warm enough. The hotel advertised on site hotel parking. That was the reason we chose to stay there. There is no on site parking. We parked on the road, in streets adjacent to the hotel. Very disappointing. The standard double room had bunk beds. Couldn't work that out. It was a small enough room to start with and this made it impossible for two adults to move about the room at one time. The TV on the wall was badly situated and we had to be vigilant in avoiding hitting our heads off it. There was only one chair in room. One of us had to sit on the bed. Totally unacceptable. The shower room was tiny and in desperate need of upgrading. I found a small tub of Sudafed down the side of the bed between the bed and the bedside cabinet. It wasn’t ours! There was an odd smell in the room. We stayed on the third floor and as I walked along the creaky corridors, it reminded me of the original boarding houses in Blackpool where two properties were knocked into one. This was not what I was expecting from the Doric Hotel! The carpet would have been in fashion in the 70's! I was so disappointed in my stay at the Doric. In my opinion, it is grossly over priced at £200 for two nights. Needless to say, we won't be back and we will not be recommending it to any friends or family.

Loved my room, but is a bit of a rabbit warren, so hard to find rooms. Biggest complaint is that there is no room service. As a woman by herself, wanted to have some dinner in the privacy of her own room.

The staff were not helpful and the breakfast menu was limited. The bed was very uncomfortable, it didn't help when the people in the next room kept me awake at 04.30 arguing and shouting. Checked out sooner than expected and the staff on duty were very rude. I will not be staying there again

Ive stayed at this hotel for years grate for kids adults extra the food has always been excellent and the entertainment is excellent

Everything from checking in was brilliant couldn’t fault the hotel or the staff . Rooms was spacious and clean. The facilities was Amazing especially having the swimming pool inside and full use even until check in time plus the evening entertainment for kids & adults . The staff was polite an always helpful nothing was too much trouble.

I booked this hotel for me (29year old mum) and my son for a 2 night stay for the weekend before his 9th birthday, due to the ratings being good for children and families and the indoor pool I chose this hotel. My overall feedback would be to say, very noisey hotel from very early paper thin walls I could hear different families conversations even with the tv on from different rooms throughout my stay, the shower was so claustrophobic it was uncomfortable to move in and even breath in. The seating area for dining and drinking is right in the reception as you walk in so everyone can hear your conversations with the staff just stare right at you and when coming back inside from cigarette or fresh air every single guest (atleast 10 families) are facing you while their eating/drinking as you walk in so I was stared at everytime I walked through here, No smiles or greetings from the staff at the desk not any single time of me passing them. The atmosphere was drunken older adults or weird vibes rather than a child friendly hotel. The rooms are absolutely freezing cold with no heater inside apart from a luke warm radiator. Warm water from the sink cold tap. Quite disappointed with this booking as we really looked forward to it being a relaxed few days, felt really uncomfortable here.

Lovely hotel very friendly staff particularly Louise who was our waitress she could not do enough for my grandparents and children really lovely stay would definitely return. We was in the margret Anne suite and it was beautiful large jacuzzi bath and a small veranda with table and 2 chairs were you could sit and look at at the sea

We arrived at the property on 27th December 2024 to check in at 3pm. We were told we had been allocated a room on the 4th floor. (When booked I asked for low floor, as I am disabled and struggle with stairs). After some time we were moved to the second floor. The lifts were temperamental, which made getting to the second floor uncomfortable for me using the stairs. We found the dining room seating poor as we were allocated what I can only describe as a POSTAGE STAMP TABLE, really only fit for 1 diner. Meal portions were small, and we found it astonishing that our side dishes were miniscule for 2 adults. If we had both been single diners we would have got a portion each. The bedroom central heating failed on our first nights stay. We asked for a mobile heater but were told non were available, however speaking to other guests they had been given heaters when requested. The evening entertainment for both nights stay was mediocre to say the least. Overall not a great experience.
