"The hotel has been renovated and the beds are very comfortable! very quiet! Don’t step on thunder! Parking is easy. Best Western Plus is a very good chain. The breakfast is delicious. The coffee machine is automatic and can make chai latte which is delicious. It only takes half an hour to drive to see the Aurora! very convenient! It's a pity that I didn't catch it!"

"The riverside environment of the hotel is beautiful and you can walk, but the hotel's own design cabin is the feeling of the motel. Next to the hotel-run caravan camp, you can see all types of RVs. The hotel's restaurant is by the river, we have dinner there, and the scenery is good. The mixed-blood waiters we met were more simple and suggest that we should order food reasonably and not waste. There was a family with a few children paddling on the beach and eating, feeling very happy. The front desk clerk has a general attitude and the room is arranged closest to the car entrance. Said to be a garden house, do not expect, but it is a mess of plants around a circle plus a few plastic tables and chairs. The bath and bed in the room are good, but the furniture is especially simple. Breakfast is in the lobby, $15 a person is not recommended. The hotel sent the airport service is good, told the front desk and immediately drove over."

Our 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is set on 3 beautifully secluded acres in the hills above Fairbanks with 2 Peaceful Bee Hives working hard to collect as much honey as possible while summer is in full swing! If you are looking for an escape from the craziness of life and ready for a break, look no further. We are an easy 15 min drive from all the amenities of town, but the peace and quiet you will gain are unmatched. We look forward to hosting you!
The space
Our home is in a well spread out neighborhood and the beautiful Northern Boreal Forest in between each house provides ample buffer to make you feel like you are all alone. In reality however, town is only 15 minutes away with the Fox General Store being half that (they have basic necessities like brownies and milk when your wife has a pregnancy craving!).
This distance from town makes a big difference during the months when it actually gets dark (September-April) as you are far enough away from the light pollution to see the Northern Lights completely unobstructed. Our property is very open and if the Northern Lights are out, you will see them from our house!!
In the summer, you will love the HUGE maintained yard and wrap around deck. There are several trails you can explore that leave directly from behind our property. Also feel free to check out the garden, as well as the wild Raspberries scattered around the yard (season dependent of course).
The first floor holds the cozy and well stocked kitchen, living room, master bedroom (Queen Bed), and bathroom. Upstairs is a combined bedroom (Full bed) and office area. The home is heated by an oil stove that keeps it quite toasty, and there are fans available for the rare extra hot days!

The entire house is available for guest use except for a small closet under the stairs. The home sits on almost 3 acres and you are welcome to enjoy the deck, entire yard, and small garden or go explore the wild areas and see if you can find wild raspberries. We also have 2 honey bee hives (the gentlest strain of honey bees possible working on the edge of the property). The trails behind the house are open to explore, but be mindful of our neighbors and respect their privacy (If you can even find them! There aren't very many neighbors!)

In the summer (Mid May-Mid September), any vehicle can easily reach our home. It is fully paved until the last 1/2 mile and then it turns to a well maintained gravel road. Step outside onto the porch and sip your coffee while listening to the dog sled teams howling. If you're lucky you might catch some Northern Lights or a moose wandering through.
When you arrive at the property you'll feel at peace and safe. We have a keypad to get in that is updated with a new code for each guest and there's a Ring doorbell for your safety and the safety of the property. That is the only camera on the property. Within walking distance you have the famous Ivory Jacks or Rebel Roots, depending on what you're into. Head into town one way or take the scenic route and see the pipeline after you've done some gold panning on your way out to Chena Hotsprings. There's Caribou tours and dog mushing tours within minutes of this cabin.
Just because you're in a cabin doesn't mean you have to live uncomfortably. We have running water and WiFi along with a Smart TV in the living room. There's a fully stocked kitchen for cooking your favorite meals, along with a full bathroom (stall shower) huge fluffy towels and linens designed to make you feel like you're living in luxury in the woods. Unfortunately there's no washer or dryer however there is a laundry facility right across the road.
Want to unplug? There's board games and cards for you to have some fun. Or step outside for a nice fire to roast marshmallows at. If you want to experience Alaska in a more rustic way go ahead and try out the outhouse located right behind the cabin ;)
Everything should be in good operational condition - if anything isn’t working as it should please don’t hesitate to reach out.
We have a water company deliver regularly to be able to have running water. The tank is located behind the cabin out of the back window/bathroom window area. Be conscience of water usage as we run on a 400 gallon tank.
We’re in the process of replacing the screen on the screen door. The mosquitos are joked to be Alaska’s State Bird and they are plenty here! There’s mosquito coils and bug spray you can use if you need in the Lazy Susan corner of the kitchen.
Help yourself to anything in the cabin.

1) Please take off your shoes - We like to keep the floors as clean as possible for everyone to enjoy
2) There is no smoking of any kind inside of the cabin, however, you can smoke (legal cannabis included) outside as long as you clean up after yourselves and do not leave any cigarette butts or paraphernalia outside. There is an ashtray provided.
3) The fire pit must be used with extra caution in the summer months - Please keep a jug of water nearby.
4) Absolutely no mail is to be received at the property.
5) Absolutely no parties of any kind allowed at the property.
6) Discharge of weapons or use of fireworks is prohibited.
7) Check out time is at 11am. An additional $50 per hour will be charged if you are late checking out.
8) Please note that there is no handrails to go up the three steps to the cabin or around the raised deck. Inside the cabin there is no railing on the opposite side of the stairs by the window and this can be a hazard to small children - Parents are responsible for assisting little ones around these areas.
