Marble Mansion Inn

This was our 2nd stay and it doesn't disappoint! The rooms are delightful and the decor is beautiful. The beds are really comfortable, good water pressure in the shower and plenty of parking. The owners maintain this place with high standards. There is nothing bad to say about this place. If you are looking for perfection, this is the place! Oh and let's not forget the wonderful breakfast....not just bagels and cereal OH NO! depending on your stay, breakfast this time for us was maple sausage with an egg casserole, freshly baked sour cream scones, fresh fruit as well as bagels or toast, cereal, coffee, tea or juice.

This Inn is absolutely gorgeous. Family and friends stayed here for our son's wedding. The bridal party got ready and first look photos were captured there. It was beautifully decorated for Xmas. To top it off a five star breakfast was prepared for us each morning. The owners are very kind and thoughtful. It was a magical setting.

Many reviews focus on the food. Although the food was good, some sort of egg dish with cheese five days in a row was a little much. The bacon was drenched in maple syrup. One day we had sausages and a waffle. We skipped breakfast the last day. The mansion is tired and not very clean. Behind the radiator bin our bathroom was very dirty and had not been cleaned in a long time. Many places needed dusting. They have two cats and a little dog. On the white table cloth in the dining room were cat paw prints. People were seated here for breakfast. I was disappointed in our stay. People are commenting on the food and not cleanliness. If I had seen reviews where it was mentioned it was not clean, I wouldn’t have stayed there. The shower and Lavatory were old. The rooms were set up to look nice with China and some nice antiques.

We were served a lovely vegan breakfast that we requested. Their concern for our well-being was palpable. The room was very nice and the threeflight walk up was good preparation for our trip to Europe

I had driven by three weeks earlier and fascinated I googled the Inn. Heading up from Boston and again staying with friends in Manchester I decided to catch a night’s stay a little further up. The Marble House Inn could easily be classified as ‘Boutique’. It exudes charm throughout and along with a nice full breakfast served by two nice young ladies, good conversation with Gregg the owner , what could be better ? I’ll be staying again for sure ! Stayed for a girls weekend with my bestie. Beautiful place. The decor is beautiful. The host is very friendly. The porch is a wonderful place to sit and relax. Breakfast was excellent and Made fresh. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

I booked Marble Mansion for a recent stay in Vermont, after reading the testimonials on their website. Big Mistake! We arrived after 3 pm per their very explicit instructions, thought it a little strange only one car in the parking lot and a pickup truck out back, both presumably the owners. Walking u to the building, we noticed a lot of dis-repair. Maybe the inside will be better. NOT. We were shown to our room, the owner's favorite, William Shakespeare, describe as their most popular. The room is quite small, the floors appear clean, but that is where the "clean" ends. Walls, windows were filthy. In the bathroom there is not a shelf or flat surface for toiletries. There is not much light in the bedroom or the bathroom. Before going to visit our daughter nearby, we thought we would clean up a little after our drive. That is when we learned there was no water. We went out to dinner , returning around 10 pm. We had a emergency call during dinner and had to leave, however our luggage was in our room so we had to return there first. Still NO other cars in lot. Guests are to sign in their preferred breakfast time, there were no other entries after ours. So, we assume, no other guests. We go up to our room, turn on the water, it came out brown. We went down to advise the innkeepers of our necessary early departure, but could not find anyone. I left a note with the key and departed. We got home around 3 am, my wife was actually quite happy that she did not have to stay at Marble Mansion!

As frequent visitors to the area, we longed to get a peek inside the Marble Mansion Inn, and so we arranged for a one night stay. We were not disappointed. This is a fabulous old home converted into a delightful BandB. Keep in mind, if you are seeking a cookie-cutter chain hotel experience, this is not it. But from the moment we walked in and we were greeted by one of the owners we felt at home. Our room (the Hemingway) was quiet and comfy. We learned a bit of the history of the place as well--keep your eyes open for some of the original fixtures, which are glorious. The breakfast was amazing ( I want to use all caps here) and served with a smile--and in a delightfully sunny room. Egg dish, hot scones, and everything else you might want. You pick your time between 8-10, which I have certainly been requested to do before elsewhere. I highly recommend.

Excellent across the board. Service, breakfast meals, neatness, clean. Worst meal we ever had WAS TERRIFIC, love it. Ambience is like no other, beautiful! Beautiful views, wifi, owners are wonderful! D& L
