I arrived at 1pm to find reception locked. Called the number provided and a gentleman came to check me in.
Said I was booked into a hillview spa suite but when I saw the amount of stairs that had to be climbed to reach it, asked if there was anything lower down. He didn’t offer any alternative but asked me if I was good with stairs. Now I will be 80 this year and reasonably fit but no way able to carry my suitcase up. However a staff member assisted by delivering my suitcase to the room.
Was disappointed when I unlocked the door as the decor was, to say the least, very lack lustre. The red couch and armchair looked like they had been picked up on the side of the road. The chair’s lining underneath was hanging down.
In the kitchen there was only one cup and one glass, a few plates and some cutlery but no plug for the sink and no tea towel.
The bathroom was reasonable but only one cake of soap. The cupboards and the architraves are in bad need of repair.
It takes several minutes for the hot water to come through..
The decking outside is in bad repair. I felt like I was going to fall through it in several places.
The back garden is full of ****s.
I stayed 3 nights and not once was my bed made. There was evidence that housekeeping has been there as the rubbish bin was emptied and the towels changed but no bath mat left on the first day and only once was milk and coffee topped up.
On the day of my departure, there was no one about to help me with my case.
