Great location right in town centre. Staff always helpful and polite. Rooms a good size, nice modern and stylish. Bathrooms great size and had bath and shower. Spa is also nice if a little pricey for use of the outside hydro pool but added to our experience. Concierge great at arranging taxis and helping with luggage. Breakfast was quality and well worth the money with Al a carte and buffet both included no need to choose. Set us up for the day. Would recommend worth every penny made our Edinburgh experience very memorable.

The location was perfect for exploring the city, with many attractions and restaurants within walking distance. Our assessment of our 3 night stay at the Waldorf was mixed. The hotel was very nice and as a Diamond member we were upgraded to a castle view room. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were generally helpful. We did have a problem one night with the light fixture leaking water from the ceiling. This may have been due to a rainstorm one night and staff brought a bucket to catch the leaking water. The biggest problem, however, occurred after checkout. At the time of checkout I was told that the hotel printer wasn’t working so they would email me my receipt. Since all 3 nights were paid for with HH points I asked if there was a zero balance and was told yes. Later that day I received the final bill and was charged over $1,000 on my credit card for all three nights. I immediately called the hotel and was told by in house reservations staff that my reservation had been cancelled when I didn’t show up. I reminded them that we had been staying with them the last 3 nights and had no problem at checkin on the scheduled day. In fact I confirmed our arrival time several hours before checkin. So they didn’t know what the problem was but would talk to the reservations manager when they were free. In the meantime I called the Hilton diamond desk and again was told that someone had cancelled my stay with points and it had been rebooked by someone as a cash stay and they were not sure what the problem was. My points had even been put back onto my account by someone. By now I am a bit irritated. I finally receive a call back from the hotel reservation manager who tells me that the Waldorf had a computer glitch on our arrival date and that all hotel reservations had been cancelled and had to be manually reentered by hotel staff. However, Hilton hotels have no way to make reservations using points so they made them as a cash payment. Thereby the $1,000 bill. Now glitches are bound to occur sometimes. However, all of this angst could have been avoided by telling me at checkin about the problem and I could have immediately rebooked the room using points while standing at the front desk. The hotel did ultimately reverse the charges and apologize. However. this shouldn’t happen at a property like the Waldorf.

The hotel is fab the staff are great and cannot do more for you , lovely touches provided by guest relations concierge & reception staff are so lovely , catering & bar staff great , the room was lovely , great shower and local produce in rooms such as the coffee etc , social hour is a nice touch and breakfast was great , i would stay here again we had a lovely stay ... however the spa lets it down This was a special birthday suprise for my other half i booked the spa for treatments for us . We were late on arrival due to rail strikes and i missed my spa appointment which is fine i expect that if you are not on time. My partner was still able to recieve his treatment however we were provided with no towels robes or slippers , no info regarding lockers . The massuise gave my partner a robe and was suprised one was not already provided for him after he had to walk around after getting changed into swimwear .The water machine in the ladies changing room did not work the only water available was from a tap in the toilet not ideal as the next water machine was in the lobby opposite the gym , especially not ideal if u have no robe or slippers or towel to go out to it . So if you are are a lady there is no drinking water available , very undignified !! I was not shown to the relaxation room and couldnt go in even if i wanted to as i had no towel or robe . My partner told me the mens changing room stank of urine from a pipe . The staff were not very helpfull or attentive and the service at the spa does not reflect the service or same level of standard as the rest of the hotel . I have had better service at a local lesuire centre and would not use this ”spa” again . My partner and I often use spas and this was by far the worst spa expeirience dissapointing as it was his birthday. I could maybe understand if it was busy but it wasnt .

Stayed her for three nights October 2022 with the Scotland Rugby League team prior to the Rugby League World Cup. What a great find this hotel was. Spotlessly clean and so very comfortable. Bedrooms roomy and the beds as comfortable as you can get. The food was excellent, and they catered for our every need. The breakfasts were amazing and the service was beyond reproach . Special shout out to our servers Chez, Shannon and the boss Karen. Could not have been better. A massive thank you and a great start to our World Rugby League Cup campaign . Defo use this hotel again.

We stayed two nights, and ate there many times, including on a return trip through Edinburgh. It is the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been in, staff are friendly, food is terrific, and not too expensive. If you hit a nice day the patio is gorgeous. Our view of the park was so pretty.

We stayed here for three nights and had a fantastic stay, the hotel is located in a leafy area just outside of the city, only a 20 minute stroll through the park, the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean,our room was large, clean and was refreshed everyday, the view from our room of the park opposite was very nice, breakfast in the hotels restaurant, was excellent with plenty of choice and again friendly and efficient staff, parking on the grounds of the hotel we found to be readily available and secure,the downstairs bar and restaurant was very clean, with welcoming staff, we felt the only let down to our stay was the evening menu, we tried it once and it was very disappointing, there are several other restaurants within a very short walk, which are excellent.

Great welcome. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Within walking distance of most major attractions. We used the bar in the evening and had breakfast, which was great - plenty of choice and all you can eat. Only one issue, the bottle bank was emptied at about 5.30 in the morning.

The real thing matches the picture perfectly! The host sister was super considerate and prepared fruits and candies🍬 to welcome us! The kitchen supplies and tableware are all complete, and those who cook will be happy! There was only a double bed, and there were three of us. One boy slept on the sofa. We communicated with the landlady in advance and got permission to prepare an extra quilt! The water flow in the toilet is very strong and the hot water supply is sufficient. An additional heater in the bedroom is enough, and there is no problem with the heating in the living room! The location is really great, just around the corner from Edinburgh Castle

The cost for this room was very cheap so I didn't expect a lot of frills. I had let them know that my plane landed at 9 am and was informed that the room would be ready at 2 pm, but they would secure our luggage until check in time. Sounded perfect but upon arrival was confronted by a person who ask how we got in (the door was unlocked), so I explain who we were and that we had paid reservation. Once he checked it out (lack of communication) he took our luggage. We went to the Abbey had breakfast and some beers hung out and talked to locals. Then we walked around the corner sat a few minutes till they opened the door. We were given our room key and two door keys,instruction on checking out and how to get a hold of him. The room was simple but clean;our luggage was in the room;plenty of towels, toilet paper, shower gel, and shampoo.I love the idea of having the keys so we could come and go as we pleased. The building is pretty old, with very tall windows and a nice view of a green yard with black/white birds. My first impression was oh no...but I settled down and checked out things they had everything we needed. Free wi-fi (password on bathroom door) shower/toilet in room (which I requested) clean beds and TV with quite a few channels.If you wanted glam with your room go somewhere else and pay for it. Yet if you want just a room to sleep and freshen up, close to bus stops,bank, ATM and food/drink establishments then this is the place for you. My sister didn't care for her bed but all beds seem out of whack compared to your own. I slept fine in mine. Even tho the main street was an ambulance easy route to the hospital the room was very quiet and with drapes drawn very dark.

Because the flight was canceled, I had to return one day later than planned. It was my first time to experience a backpacker hotel, and it was really good. We arrived at ten o'clock, because the latest check-out from the hotel was 11 o'clock, and we had already booked a castle tour at 11 o'clock. It might have been past the 7 o'clock key collection time when we returned to the hotel after a day of fun, but the clerk was still very active in helping us find a way. Everything was taken care of very well, allowing us to spend the day happily without interruption. As a backpacker hotel, it is really good. The overall guest room is very comfortable and warm. We were given a triple room on the top floor with a double bed and a single bed. The elderly did not have to worry about climbing up and down. The shared bathroom on the floor is also very clean and tidy, and the roommates who share it also use it well. It is very convenient to have a sink in the room, which is very convenient for washing fruits, washing hands, brushing teeth and face. The room also has a TV and a small safe. The bedside table is equipped with a mirror, a chest of drawers and a cute closet. My small suggestion is that it would be better if there were more places to hang clothes, otherwise I think it is very good.
