Hampton Inn & Suites Albany/East Greenbush

East Greenbush|2.21km from downtown
I am a Hilton Honors member, and as such I enjoy staying at different hotels within Hilton's portfolio when I visit a particular city. I always travel by train. Since the Amtrak station in Rensselaer is across the river from Albany (requiring a rideshare service), and there's not much to do or eat within the city at night, I decided to try this property in East Greenbush. The hotel is nestled in a hillside off US 4 and I-90, although my car service approached it from back roads. A very welcome change from the downtown Albany properties. It's far enough from either highway that vehicle noise is not an issue. The room I chose at pre-check-in was the room I got. I was appreciative of the bright and clean hallways and room. Hats off to this hotel's housekeeping staff. My room was ample size, and well-lit with a large desk and many places to charge my devices. The suite bathroom had a toilet & shower in one room and the sink outside. The counter had plenty of space to put down my toiletries. I rated the buffet breakfast as one of the best available in a Hampton Inn. If I'm able to get both eggs and sausage, it's a good day! The only nit I had is that when I arrived, the poor woman at the front desk was very busy. She had several people waiting and phone calls to deal with, and there didn't appear to be anyone helping her. Not her fault at all. Overall, this place was great and it comes highly recommended.
